The Batmobile was such a novelty that they ended up over using it. That does mean Arkham Knight "is not as good as we remember" but then again... It's still not a bad game and by no means is it as bad as SS:KTJL.
Arkham knight is a phenomenal game with no boss fights and repetitive bat mobile uses but is the most fun for free roam and action it’s the only game in the franchise that makes u feel like you’re actually Batman gliding by Gotham
Arkham Knight IS as good as we remember it to be. But that doesn’t mean your criticisms aren’t valid. It just means Every criticism you listed about Arkham Knight, I remember feeling each and every one of them back when I first played the game in 2015. We SHOULD HAVE had hand to hand fights against Jason and Slade,
Well, you are not wrong and every point has a good argumentation. But with all due respect to you and the Batman Arkham community: I could not care less. Indeed there's some absurd over-use of the Batmobile and yes, I'd like to have a hand to hand fight with Jason and Slade, but the devs made a gamble for the Batmobile and I'm glad they did it even if half the boss fights were with the car, because this shows that they wanted to deliver what we asked, just like Larian Studios did with BG3
I remember rocksteady had to lie and say that Arkham Knight was an original character in the years leading up to the games release because everyone correctly guessed that it was Jason Todd. People saw that coming as much as Dabi real identity from MHA.
Crazy how one guys video can easily influence you. Lots of the same BS here that everyone else says. Don't beg for a batmobile for years then be disappointed when they give you a very fun to use car which can also turn into a tank as an extra. Don't complain about the lack of boss fights when the gameplay and open world has drastically improved making up for it and adding more. Don't complain about villains when the only people crying about them are people that are so nostalgic about city for no reason.
From a visual perspective, Arkham Knight is a masterpiece. Even almost 10 years later it still looks phenomenal. I think what the biggest letdown was the overuse of the Batmobile, the tank battles and lack of actual bosses One thing that I hated was that they really gave The Riddler and Albert King a boss battle but made you one shot Deathstroke in a fucking cutscene. Could you imagine how insane it would’ve been if you fought Slade throughout the city on rooftops and the streets below and it being a mix of combat and stealth, having to adapt to his attacks, like Mr. Freezes boss in City. But no he got a TaNk BaTtle. Put some respect on that motherfucker. Thank Christ for Arkham Origins, which by the way still deserves a remaster
I respect your opinion Demigah, but I have to disagree here - there are definitely moments that are a downgrade from Arkham City, particularly when it came to the boss fights, but when it came to gameplay, visuals and being Batman, Arkham Knight remains as good as remembered. I mean, I still play it today, from the main campaign, to the DLC expansions, playing with almost every costume and just gliding around Gotham
Abysmal handling of Deathstroke, existence of Bat-tank, true ending of game locked behind tedious ass Riddler BS, and other playable characters not useable in the open world are the biggest problems of this game for me
While i think the games amazing i can agree that the lack of boss fights hurts its rating. Imagine if they made a new Arkham that had knights combat, orgins bosses and citys puzzles. Man that would be a masterpiece.
I probably wouldn’t have liked Arkham Knight if it wasn’t for the Joker. That part of the story was so well written it almost makes me forget how lame the other main villains are.
>says Knight doubled Riddler trophies >Knight has 243 Riddler collectibles >City has 440 or so Math is hard, I understand. Also, the Professor Pyg fight was insanely good. I know, not a traditional videogame boss fight, but it still slapped.
Just to add another thing deathstroke starts complaining after beating him that he’d take on Batman hand to hand and before you even fight him he complains as much as the riddler saying I’ve been waiting years
As someone who likes the tank battles I feel the same way you do. I honestly don't see why we couldn't have more hand to hand combat encounters with bosses after the tank battles with them it didn't look like it would be hard to achieve that. I also don't think snatching deathstroke out of the air and punching him should have been enough to end it.
Indeed Arkham knight is not perfect and could've made decisions differently, but suicide squad proved it could always get worse. Now i consider knight as the true finale, even if people don't like it much
Tbh this game does have its flaws, but it gave us a good ending, memorable characters and even getting to put nigma down. Ss did Arkham Batman dirty tho.
As an Arkham Fanboy, I love Arkham Knight to death but all of your points are actually really solid. I'm one of the few people that actually really enjoy the tank fights, even if they're spammed too much. Frankly? My only disappointments with this game are the Deathstroke bossfight the Arkham Knight boss fight. Even if his reveal was predictable, seeing his redemption at the end of the game ironically enough redeemed that too. The story was absolutely beautiful to me and it at least does one thing right: Make you feel like The Batman. Whether I'm bias, have bad opinions, or bad taste; Arkham Knight & City will forever hold a staple within my heart. Love the video as always Demi 💜
Origins is so much better than Knight. I really wanted Scarecrow to be the main villain but in comes Joker AGAIN! At least in Origins, Bane felt like Joker's equal and at times superior. Origins gave us the best Bane ever.
u fought redhood, twoface, harley quinn, joker, pyg without the batmobile not including dlc and that was just on the top of my head. these arkham knight haters gotta stop fr.
My answer: you got three long games with no Batmobile so play them, don’t ruin it for those of us who want Full BATMAN experience and not the same thing for the 4th time😂
To be honest, they should’ve made Jason Todd/Red Hood separate from the Arkham Knight identity and have someone like Deathstroke or David Cain (Orphan’s father in DC comics) take on the identity instead of Jason because 1. Military Background (but Slade’s former army, 2. They fought Batman before (except Cain did in the comics) 3. They’re assassins. I get that they wanted someone who knows Batman’s every move and on allies but they had a lot more choices on who should’ve really been the Arkham Knight
Thank god, anybody who bought it in 2015 would know. No Killer Croc, Freeze, Al Ghul Follow up storyline, no Clayface follow up. Reused assets with Arkham Origins villains and making Professor Pyg a Hush copycat mission. No hints that Jason Todd even existed in this universe prior. The Joker being forced as the main antagonist once again even though he's dead. Another WB game where the developers were cooking and they cut their time to make a release schedule for the stock investors. I have a video on my channel where I draw the line between Arkham Knight, Cyberpunk, and Shadow of Mordor having the exact same story templates (gruff voiced protagonist that has a dead person in their head telling them what to do). Buying Metal Gear Solid V and Arkham knight in 2015/2016 and getting two disappointing series finales to fantastic video game series was terrible lmao then Trump got elected
I do actually agree with this. The only reason I mainly play Arkham Knight was due to combat, graphics and gadgets as it has most of my favourites (and modding the game). However as fun as the combat is in AK it is a bit OP as you might as well be playing as flash as he punches from one corner of the room to the other. I have always said origins was my favourite due to story and it was nice to change voice actors for a game even though you cannot beat Kevin Conroy and Mark Hammill. I do feel the Remote claw was too OP in Predator sections despite the 3 charges for the gargoyles. I am going to flex and say I got 240% on all save files on my Xbox with 1.5 on my PC (Recently 120% one)!
I loved this game when It was released but after revisiting it, it's too boring, yeah that Beginning of the game and the ending are pretty solid. But the story lags so much in the middle, and the entire game is secretly a Batmobile Simulator. The game was so boring without any cutscenes Or giving me any considerable progression. Arkham knight just kept mocking me and hiding and then hes Jason Todd and why the fuck does Batman have to face time Alfred every five minutes. Once you play it you'll understand. Every time you proceed minorly in the story, Batman can't talk with Alfred on the comms, he's gotta face time the motherfucker. And fuck the riddler
Ive got over 200 hours on arkham knight. A lot of hours on the other arkham games too. I respect your opinion, but arkham knight gotta be my favorite game of all time
I fully agree with this. I also gotta say that the more I play the story, the more I find issues. Most of the story "stakes" is just everyone getting kidnapped. It seriously makes everyone but Batman so fucking incompetent. I understand Jim and Barbara, but Tim, Nightwing, and Catwoman? Really? Did they forget that Tim is supposed to be a tech genius as well? You're telling me he was perfectly fine with just sitting his ass in a cell, despite him having a full ass utility belt? Why did they make him so hard-headed as well? Nightwing getting captured by Penguin makes no sense either, because how tf are you that sloppy that you get captured by the Penguin and his goons? Catwoman needs to reevaluate how to fucking rob people if her ass is getting caught in the same way a couple of months - to a year later. Batmans idea of not wanting his people close to him get hurt makes no sense. You trained side kicks for a fucking reason. They should be there to assist you through a war in the city, and I think that taking care of the infected could've waited. It would surprisingly put them less at risk of getting killed, or captured if you let them actually use their training. I find it funny how it was easy to tell who the AK was in the beginning, since he says a line that was close to the one in UTRH, but the game kinda just gives up once you reach the infected Joker missions where they show Jason. How did 20 tanks, mini choppers, and missle launchers not tear down GCPD? Tf is that building made of? They also wasted Azreal and Hush. I also think that as good as the Joker was in this game, this is the 4th time he's taken away the spotlight from the main villian. Anyway, sorry for the yapfest, so TL;DR, the side characters are incompetent or wasted, Batmans hinders everyone else, RS sucked at hiding the Arkham Knights identity, tanks are dumb, Joker is used too much. I still love this game, but let's not forget why it was criticized in the first place.
It makes perfect sense that batman didn't figure out the arkham knight's identity. From bruce's perspective, jason was already long dead. The Research that Alfred made throughout the Story came up empty. And the biggest reason is, that batman was actively trying not to figure out the knight's identity. "Batman has rarely let himself ruled by his emotions. Catwoman seems to be able to manipulate batman's feelings, as does the daughter of Rā's al Ghül, Talia. But when Batman encounters the mysterious arkham knight, he ignores, perhaps deliberately, clues to the knight's identity. For if the arkham Knight is who Batman secretly suspects him to be, then that means he has truly failed someone he considers family." Taken from Batman arkham universe the ultimate visual guide
We did get bossfight that weren't in the batmobile like the big guy in the movie studio, porfessor pyg, arkham knight ( they werent really good but i just thought id point it out)
I mean you ain’t wrong. Like bro. I didn’t even do the riddler missions for obvious reasons. And I would’ve loved to fight deathstroke AND Ra’s Al Ghul again. On some Arkham origins and city type of fighting. But. Majority of the game was tank battles. And it was annoying nbs
Batman knew Jason was the Arkham Knight all night long, it’s why Joker was showing flashbacks. It was Bruce’s subconscious telling him what he didn’t want to hear. All your other Criticisms are valid tho.
My child self would never have dreamt that as a 40 something adult I would be writing on the internet how much I hated driving the Batmobile. But HERE we are!
Totally get it man, I don’t have an issue with the normal tank battles throughout the game but they shouldn’t have let it bleed over into the boss fights
Reason is Paul Dini didn’t work on the game after Arkham City, Rocksteady's boss fights were always bad. Like it or not, WB Montreal did much better in terms of story and bosses in Origins. Thats why everyone now looks at Gotham Knights like "perhaps I treated you too harshly"
Alfred almost dying, Bane figuring out who Batman is, the bosses, the music, the phase of the story was faster than Asylum, no riddler trophies, and had better dlc and online mode
I don’t know about that boss fights we’re always trash thing you said remember Mr. Freeze, Ra’s Al Ghul, Clayface, or Grundy from arkham city? Heck these are minibosses but remember the abrovomici twins, also for origins the story was good until joker showed up for no reason we had a good thing going with black mask then nope joker for no reason because WB like money 🤪 like i get it’s Batman’s origin but to see black mask an underused Batman villain in the game just for it not to be him is crazy, and to me personally the boss fights with bane in origins just felt like harder titan fights from asylum “big guy runs at you fast, jump out the way and hit him rinse and repeat but this time he has 2 extra moves ground pound and command grab”. Gotham knights is 💯% certified trah nobody lookin at that game like that and if anyone is they stupid cuz that was trah

Arkham knight is a phenomenal game with no boss fights and repetitive bat mobile uses but is the most fun for free roam and action it’s the only game in the franchise that makes u feel like you’re actually Batman gliding by Gotham
@@Justadrie44 I completely agree!
Yeah I was mad that we couldn't fight deathstroke.
You're right it's not as good as we remember its even better
I remember rocksteady had to lie and say that Arkham Knight was an original character in the years leading up to the games release because everyone correctly guessed that it was Jason Todd.
People saw that coming as much as Dabi real identity from MHA.
Even with the old rocksteady
I miss the old rocksteady
Crazy how one guys video can easily influence you. Lots of the same BS here that everyone else says. Don't beg for a batmobile for years then be disappointed when they give you a very fun to use car which can also turn into a tank as an extra. Don't complain about the lack of boss fights when the gameplay and open world has drastically improved making up for it and adding more. Don't complain about villains when the only people crying about them are people that are so nostalgic about city for no reason.
@@bearpoop720 you dropped ur clown nose, here.
Absolutely agree. I've always said the peak of the series is Arkham City. Always was and still is.
From a visual perspective, Arkham Knight is a masterpiece. Even almost 10 years later it still looks phenomenal.
I think what the biggest letdown was the overuse of the Batmobile, the tank battles and lack of actual bosses
One thing that I hated was that they really gave The Riddler and Albert King a boss battle but made you one shot Deathstroke in a fucking cutscene.
Abysmal handling of Deathstroke, existence of Bat-tank, true ending of game locked behind tedious ass Riddler BS, and other playable characters not useable in the open world are the biggest problems of this game for me
Imma die with the correct opinion saying arkham origns is the best arkham game
While i think the games amazing i can agree that the lack of boss fights hurts its rating.
Imagine if they made a new Arkham that had knights combat, orgins bosses and citys puzzles. Man that would be a masterpiece.
I probably wouldn’t have liked Arkham Knight if it wasn’t for the Joker. That part of the story was so well written it almost makes me forget how lame the other main villains are.
Imagine origins deathstroke type boss fight with jason todd, that would be fire
I am honnostly lost because at times I enjoy arkham knight and other times where I turn the game off to play city.
>says Knight doubled Riddler trophies
>Knight has 243 Riddler collectibles
>City has 440 or so
Math is hard, I understand.
Also, the Professor Pyg fight was insanely good. I know, not a traditional videogame boss fight, but it still slapped.
3:12 I’ve always said this but the floor that Jason and Batman are on is literally a Lego baseplate
The batmobile missions are so boring and annoying that i actually quited the NG+ and went to play arkham city again instead
Just to add another thing deathstroke starts complaining after beating him that he’d take on Batman hand to hand and before you even fight him he complains as much as the riddler saying I’ve been waiting years
Arkham Knight rocks, it only gets hate because of how good it is
As someone who likes the tank battles I feel the same way you do. I honestly don't see why we couldn't have more hand to hand combat encounters with bosses after the tank battles with them it didn't look like it would be hard to achieve that. I also don't think snatching deathstroke out of the air and punching him should have been enough to end it.
Arkham Knight is still light-years better than suicide squad
I mean obviously and the sky is blue
Indeed
Arkham knight is not perfect and could've made decisions differently, but suicide squad proved it could always get worse.
Now i consider knight as the true finale, even if people don't like it much
Arkham Knight is better than I remember
Tbh this game does have its flaws, but it gave us a good ending, memorable characters and even getting to put nigma down. Ss did Arkham Batman dirty tho.
The Batmobile should’ve just been a vehicle.
You so fucking right damn the way it be fye ash to beat death stroke fr fr
I’m not even mad about the Arkham knight. I’m more mad about the Deathstroke “boss fight”
“U wanna save a man’s bitch tank battle” I’m so dead🤣💀😭
You are wrong about the riddler trophies. Arkham City actually has almost 200 more.
Arkham City was the one bro 🔥🙌

On that, we can agree
Arkham Asylum was far better

Batman turning into Twisted Metal sounds like it should have been cool... as an Optional mode.
It may not be the best in the series but it is still honestly really good
As an Arkham Fanboy, I love Arkham Knight to death but all of your points are actually really solid.
“This is how it happened...this is how the Batman died.”
I hated the fact that there wasn’t any proper boss fights
Origins is so much better than Knight. I really wanted Scarecrow to be the main villain but in comes Joker AGAIN! At least in Origins, Bane felt like Joker's equal and at times superior. Origins gave us the best Bane ever.
u fought redhood, twoface, harley quinn, joker, pyg without the batmobile not including dlc and that was just on the top of my head. these arkham knight haters gotta stop fr.
And then the rest of the campaign is just move the batmobile here and there
My answer: you got three long games with no Batmobile so play them, don’t ruin it for those of us who want Full BATMAN experience and not the same thing for the 4th time😂
With respect, not good opinion, knight has flaws but it makes up for it with its strengths.
Bro forgot the Joker infected Albert King bossfight
oopsie daisy
They reskinned that fight for the killer croc boss fight 😂
Or the Jason boss fight right after the tank one
That wasn't a fight that was a reverse jumping
And pyg, riddler, and firefly
"Even the black sheep of the family was incredible." Damn straight
I agree with every single thing. The overuse of batmobile was really too much
I do actually agree with this.
Still better than suicide kill the Arkham verse
Batman Arkham Knight is not bad its just had so much potential because of how good everything is in the game
The "Tank Battle" mini rap though 😅
I didnt mind the tank battles but the way they did redhood was disrespectful 😂😂
That's a crazy statement. It's the best overall but there are definitely problems with the game.
Demi had some bars with that tank battle ishh
For if the arkham Knight is who Batman secretly suspects him to be, then that means he has truly failed someone he considers family."
Taken from Batman arkham universe the ultimate visual guide
He never recovered his body, and he literally stopped trying, which Jason berated him on
@@Demigah batman saw the tape that joker sent him. After jason reveals himself, bruce even says that joker killed him.
Honestly when deathstroke pulled up I didn't expect him to put up a fight like the last game because Batman faster and gets more experience each game.
I recently replayed Arkham Knight and I feel the same. I have so many issues with game like the ones you mentioned but I still have fun with the game
I absolutely love this game but I personally preferred Asylum, and City. Also Origins is super underrated.
Literally my one main gripe with this game is them damn Tank battles
It’s pretty easy
@@Vitallor It's not that they're hard. It's that there is too damn much of em
Batman knew Jason was the Arkham Knight all night long, it’s why Joker was showing flashbacks.
It was Bruce’s subconscious telling him what he didn’t want to hear.
All your other Criticisms are valid tho.
I love that there’s so many interpretations of this story man and nothings confirmed so everyone can interpret the story how they want
@@thelosersclub5641 This was Confirmed in extra material. This is a subjective point.
Thats why everyone now looks at Gotham Knights like
"perhaps I treated you too harshly"
WE NEED BATMAN BEYOND ARKHAM. sure Kevin has passed (rest in peace a legend) but we could have Michael Keaton as old bats for the final chapter
