8:40 So fun fact about doors! The actual collision of a door has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the door props in and of themselves, but rather a specific moving door object that's invisible and placed usually just behind the door. This means that just putting a door somewhere won't cut it to block off space, you actually need to add a clip brush in order to stop stuff from just phasing through it.
Just the combination of the same explosion sound playing every game tick and seeing a LITERAL shower of rockets. I've not cried from laughter many times, but THAT did it for me.

19:01 Adding to the notes from people who use Hammer: source maps actually *do* do raytracing, it's just not real-time. It's baked at the beginning once in a fairly CPU-intensive process, and then all of that reflected light is stored in the map's textures and loaded when the game runs, so you get realistic lighting, without the need to continuously do raytracing.
I absolutely love this. I would love to see more of this, possible even 2v2 where all players get one edit per round. I feel like the best part was the very last match and would love to see that be more-so of the middle of the game so the first is slow, middle is chaotic yet fun, third is just full on chaos
Perhaps a shared one per team, and then another for the losing team (or even one per member of that team) The shared edit just to make them work together and to balance the edits a bit.
Yeah TheWhat just couldn't catch a break with the amount of shit Zenith got away with that broke the only original rule of "keep it balanced" and blue just had to wonder why he was forced to play highly defensively smh
The contrast between TheWhat trying to make a fun game with an advantage Vs. Zenith attempting to violate the Geneva Convention with every turn is very entertaining
51:00 ok, this whole fucking section was the most hilarious shit I've seen. It was pretty funny all the way through, and then at 52:50 Zenith just made me fuckin lose it, I cried for the entire next minute of the video. I can't even explain why that exact time when he repeated his desire to instakill TheWhat was so amazing, but the comedic effect was the best
That was a ton of fun! If you want a more controlled environment for future games/videos of this style, you could create a butt load of prefabs, and then allow the players to chose from among those prefabs. This would also allow more complex logic setup to be built before hand, and implemented with the click of a button! If you want to push it even farther, could make it grid based and force the prefabs onto a grid.
Easy fix to the overpowered stuff:randomize who's red and who's blue, or make the map symmetrical. That can make it a little fairer (or at least let people screw themselves over)
Love this! I think for the future the ruleset should be: After a duel, the loser gets to make 1 edit, THEN the winner gets to make 1 counter-edit, and then, most importantly, the loser gets to pick whether they get to be RED or BLU. This would hopefully encourage the loser of the previous match to come up with insane changes while the winner would be more focused on making the map balanced, as not doing so would always put them at a disadvantage. An additional rule could or could not be added that forbids the winner from simply mirroring the loser's edit.
I'd love more of this but you should definitely add some rules, so that it's more clear what the players can add, and it's not just dependant on your opinion of what's balanced. I've got 3 suggestions. 1. You cannot edit the spawn area 2. At least one class needs to be able to reach the point from spawn for both teams (so no completely blocking off spawn or the point) 3. Max one 1 sentry (lvl 1) 4. Nothing that immediately kills the opponent or makes yourself unkillable I'd say anything else is fair game since the loser can always counter an addition. (E.g. if spawn can only be left by mobility classes the loser can add a teleporter or a ramp.) Maybe you could allow certain OP things like an Uber button, but they have to be at an equal distance away from both spawns. I also think the winner should place first since it's an advantage to go after. The winner getting 1 feature and the loser getting 2 was really fun too. I REALLY hope to see more of this!

I think this would be great to make all the changes symmetric, so each player has to make advantageous decisions for attacking with the knowledge that the opponent can do the same thing. By the end, you might have something incredibly well-balanced and interesting, rather than “unplayable”.
Awesome idea, it's interesting to watch the map evolve as the game progresses! I had an idea for some rules you could always try going forward: Only one sentry per player, and they can have the sentry moved around the center space of the "arena". Cannot create an effect that can instantly kill the opponent upon the match starting, maybe a certain HU distance from the doors on the outside?

Should have made it so that all changed should be mirrored, so that silly ideas like just giving themselves items at or near their spawn wouldn't be a thing. Would have caused more creative ideas, I think.
Maybe this just me being stupid, but I feel like this would actively discourage creativity as using what I saw zenith won a lot more without the changes so if every change was mirrored the best strategy would be to make as minor changes as possible (in zenith’s case) and The What wouldn’t really be able to do anything about it as if he tries to give himself an advantage or Zenith a disadvantage it end up hurting him more than it would Zenith
This honestly would've been so much funnier if Great Blue just let them do what they wanted. It felt hypocritical for him to say "you can go crazy" at the start, then start acting like a bad Dungeon Master halfway through and denying anything remotely fun/broken. Given how unfair some of zeniths changes were, i think the sequel video was much more fun to watch it was more balanced/slightly towards theWhat's side and it felt like a fair match which made this format perfect.
Love this! Would love to see another episode and Great Blue could even have some pre-made contraptions to place at player discretion!
This honestly would've been so much funnier if Great Blue just let them do what they wanted. It felt hypocritical for him to say "you can go crazy" at the start, then start acting like a bad Dungeon Master halfway through and denying anything remotely fun/broken. Technically, everything would be fair since the other side could just ask for the same thing. Was continuously disappointed that the funniest ideas kept getting shot down.
Perfectly captures the reason why Ultimate Chicken Horse is the best party game.
Ultimate Chicken Horse but in TF2 is crazy
