I lived in the San Fernando Valley back in the 70s-80s and my brother and I stop at a red light late one night and he pulled up next to us. We waved and he gave us a big smile and waved back. He was driving a custom car, I can't remember what make it was, but most likely a Caddy or a Lincoln, but it was pretty old and well used. He had a sort of scruffy looking white woman with him, and they both looked like they'd been partying pretty hard. That's was kind of low point for him but not long after that 50s rock came back into style, probably when the movie "Grease" came out, and he was getting a lot more attention I have to assume he was doing pretty good then. He had to be fun to hang out with.
I lived in LA for many years and had a cake business. One day, I was driving West (towards the beach) on Sunset Blvd when a big Limo pulled in front of me to go into LaMondrian and just stopped in the middle of the street (don't know if it's spelled right but it was a Hotel with may colors pained on it)/ OUT of the LIMO popped Little Richard...smiled his adorable smile and waved at me, got back into the Limo and they proceeded to go into the Hotel. A memory I'll always treasure JUST LIKE ONE DAY I was driving On LaCienega and Wilshire and stopped at a light...a brown Royles stopped next to me and there was Cary Grant all by himself. It was fun seeing these incredible people just living their lives.
