World War 1 was a family war. The amount of alliances made between the European Royal families with basically cousins and third cousins was insane. As a Dane I've always been fascinated by it as the Danish King Christian the 9th was called Europe's father in law. His two eldest daughters were married off to England and Russia, becoming Queen and Zarina of the two largest empires, and who ultimately gave birth to George and Nikolai.

Can't say I was surprised Conrad died. Harry spoiled that in that first movie. But how he died was so shocking. There were so many fakeouts that him dying just when he made it to "safety" was so much more unnerving than him heroically dying on the battlefield. For Aaron to think Archie was Arthur in the first Kingsman, he does realize that's 100 years time difference? Also, didn't notice it the first time in theaters but Hitler was in the film much more than just that credits tease.
Aaron makes extreme leaps in logic sometimes or forget clearly stated facts five minutes later. Like when he exclaimed if Ms Marvel punched a hole in the ground all the way to the harbor (what?) Rather than the obvious hole into the sewers which would lead out into the harbor.
Was pleasantly surprised by this movie after completely hating the 2nd one and the first was one of my favorite movies. Hope they keep it up going forward.
At first i thought wow, they're really good at casting the kings with the actors resembling each other, then later had a laughing fit when I realised that all three were played by Tom Hollander.
Apart from the Kaiser, it made sense as the two George and Nikolai were so identical that they often were mistaken for brothers in their younger years.
Rasputin was a way cooler villain than the Shepherd, really. I was so thrown by the younger Conrad's death too. I totally forgot until a rewatch of "The Secret Service"that Kingsman was begun by people who had lost their children to war to prevent them from happening again.
Everyone in the theater thought the after credits guy was going to be Stalin and then the reveal happened and everyone was surprised. I think this movie works so well because after how wild Kingsman 2 went with all the fights and camera work thay IMO hurt the movie, having a movie in the same style but toned down, works so much better.
The mid credit scene of this movie has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen. The dramatic zoom as Hitler steps out of the shadows and introduces himself like he's a f**king comic book character who's about to get his own trilogy of 'KCU' movies. "It is an honor, Comrade Lenin" sent me off of my chair. COMRADE LENIN 😂. If this isn't the absurd pinnacle of contemporary culture then I don't know what is. You couldn't make a parody this good.
@@jasonutty52 Not really, considering many people forget that Hitler started the nazi party, which is a shorthand for "Nationalist socialist worker's party". Hitler was a socialist-turned-fascist. I swear to God this film felt Like an Austin Powers film with just a little bit more edge in the fight scenes. I also loved seeing Djimon Honsou as the Ancestral origin of the title of Merlin, and anyone who as seen the Golden Circle should know that Mark Strong wouldve made The OG merlin Proud.
Kaiser Wilhelm II mother was the sister of King George V father. King George V mother was sister to Tsar Nicholas II mother. They were fifth cousins as well as they were all equal decendants of King George II of England. Nicolas and George look so alike they could easily be identical twins!
This movie slaps, the fights are just so good. Also the amount of recognisable actors in this, I guess we've reached a point since literally everyone is part of the superhero movie genre now, you can't unsee them, goddamn... On the subject of the Hitler scene at the end, my immediate thought the first time I saw it was, "So when's he getting a shave?", idk why that was my first thought, but it was... So glad you guys enjoyed this.
Well they got alot of things right, but they gave a fun twist to it because it is still a kingsman movie, but the gravilo princip part where he misses and then goes to a store to buy something and then they come back and he kills him is accurate. ALSO the rasputin part about the poison.
@@xphantom2096 well gravilo went to the coffee shop but yes that was slided into the plot nicely. The state of the world powers is very inaccurate/badly potrayed, the stakes are woefully different to what is shown haha think its a fun film and they get alot accurate and alot inaccurate which also adds alot of fun.
I love how this movie is like doing it’s best to stay historically accurate! One of my favorite bits is that they mixed like all of Rasputins assassination attempts into one scene!
A lot of people seem to dislike this movie but I love it. It's just genuine fun and it weaves in the other movies pretty well. I guess if you didn't have any understanding of who the historical figures are it could be confusing and or feel rushed. Admittedly they did use known figures as a crutch to skip out on character development but you only have so much time in a movie. The teaser at the end is nice even if they don't make another movie based on WWII, you can sort of imagine how the movie would be without it existing (but if they do make it then I'm so on board)
The guy he was fighting by the lift was the Dutch giant, he’s a body builder and is 7ft.1 (2.18m), he’s done quite a few extra roles recently as the huge dude, he’s supposed to be in the borderlands movie too
Rasputin dance fighting is based on traditional Georgian 🇬🇪 dance. the dance double was actually a Georgian national dancer. if you look up "Georgian dance khanjluri" on RUclips you'll see it. I recommend skipping to the middle to get to more exciting parts. yes those are real daggers
Fun facts: Rasputin is played by Rhys Ifan who is the Lizard in the Amazing Spiderman films and Archie Reed(the guy Conrad swapped with) is Aaron Taylor Johnson aka MCU Quicksilver
Since you guys brought up Rasputin's ... johnson, you should know that after spending time on display at the Phallological Museum in Husavik, Iceland, it's now currently on display at the Museum of Erotica in St Petersburg, Russia.
I already liked the movie, but your reaction made me view it as more objectively better, as I realised that the acting, the choreography and the set-pieces/action sequences in particular were all really great. And to me, this movie is like an inverse of the first film, particular with Orlando and Conrad, the father-son roles are swapped with the son dying and the father taking his place (in essence), and even many of the scenes such as the no man's land fight, which in terms of narrative placement mirrors the first film because it directly precedes Conrad's sudden death but it is literally the inverse of the church fight, which was extremely bombastic and loud, mainly due to the music, but the fight in this film is literally in dead silence. Great film, easily better than the Golden Circle.
I ended up seeing this movie the same week as the Legends of tomorrow episode about the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, I found it quite amusing at the time 😁
Regarding the question "where they actually cousins, were that really a thing?". The King of England, Tsar of Russia and Kaiser of Germany were all grandchildren of Queen Victoria of England and yes, they were cousins.
I thought it was such a missed opportunity to not have the scottish villian turn out to be a 4th illegitimate cousin, the 'bastard' who was abandoned, yet smarter than his cousins... Out for vengance and his birthright for him and Scotland. Woulda been a savage lil twist. I had almost forgotten his actual character, even tho they laid him out as a possible spy etc.
I saw this in the theater and had to pull out my phone and find out was that true that the leaders of Russia, England, and Germany during WW1 were related, and holy shit they were, that's insane.
Check out the Hardcore History podcast series on Ww1 to hear an absolutely horrific description of no man’s land during this time. All of the craters were filled with rain water, that had turned acidic and poisonous from the nerve gas and dead bodies floating in them.
After 24 years Ralph Fiennes got at last the long deserved "Action Hero" title what he failed to earn because of the failures of 'Strange Days' (a f***ing good movie) and 'Avengers' (a not so one though it has its unique vibe - and cool soundtrack) ✊😎
This movie was a blessing for a history nerd like me. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand happened almost exactly as it did. Only difference was Gavrilo Princip had accomplices who were the ones to threw the bomb. Franz Ferdinand went to the hospital to visit the injured soldiers on the other car. Gavrilo, failed in his mission, went for a coffee to clear his mind, and it was there Franz Ferdinand's car took a wrong turn and ended up at the cafe, right in front of Gavrilo. Gavrilo took the chance and shot Franz Ferdinand in the head.
This movie is not a blessing for history nerds at all haha the amount of stuff thats wrong or just plain made up is staggering, in the end its just a film and they were clever with the assasination scene to make the plot slide with a real event but most of the rest is ridiculous, fun thou.
@@aaronbethom8166 No one is saying it's an exact recreation of the events. I was saying the fact that they included some tiny historical details makes the movie interesting for a history nerd like me.
Loved this reaction. This movie blew me away when I watched it in the cinema. Also lol'ed at you guys mentioning Stanley Tucci when the actor is actually Mark Strong - those two are truly each other's doppelgänger!
Didn't know Tom Hollander played the three cousins lol. I was kinda confused when he kissed Rasputin's hand. I thought "why did King of England meet with Rasputin". Turned out it was the Tsar.
Thought this one was a major step down from 1, and a step down from 2. If this didn't have the Kingsman brand/name behind it I don't think anyone would remember it outside of the Rasputin scenes.
These movies just work better when they’re set in the modern day with the ridiculous Bond-esque gadgets. I didn’t care for the setting, characters or plot in this one. Disappointing prequel.
As long as it took for this to finally hit theaters, this was a great prequel. Made just right to not be too funny and taken more seriously (considering that era). Ralph Fiennes has done a movie like this before. The big-screen, 1998 adaptation of "The Avengers" (spy tv series, not the Marvel property). It was murdered by critics and suffered at the box office. But it looked so good and the casting was great. But other than that. Matthew Vaughn has a lot on his plate with (hopefully) the next Kingsmen films. With The Golden Circle & The King's Man each getting sequels, it's gonna be helluva ride.
I was waiting for you to react to this for weeks now. I knew Eric( My spirit animal) was going to react the same way I did for those fight sequences. I hope there is another movie coming.
I honestly was expecting this movie to be as crazy as the first 2. I was not expecting a war movie that was also about a man who lost his son and was fighting for peace.
royal families are all intermarried, primarily because as a royal, you want to marry other royals. So, over a long enough time, the royal houses of Europe all get intermarried -- multiple times! it's kind of a weird social constraint, but it's generally true! (especially from before monarchs had a more limited ceremonial roles, but they live a long time "in office" so to speak, so in early 1900s it was way more true than today.)
My thoughts on the after credit scene reveal was that it’s possibly a setup for a sequel but from an American WWII perspective entering the fray and the rise of the American branch perhaps we will see “The States Man” or something soon🤷🏻♂️ probably way off haha loved it either way what a great franchise ✌🏻
for me this was the assasins creed movie i always wanted but never got you know. historical setting to behind the scenes groups going at it with wild crazy combat and historical figures so i enjoyed this movie quite a lot
This was a great movie. I’m so happy that I made the time to see this movie in the theater. Seeing movies like this with amazing scenes,is so much better on the big screen and it can’t be truly recreated at home for the vast majority of us. I also love supporting the movie industry. If we stop going to the movie theaters we will be complicit in the potential death of amazing movies that will never be made available to us. Have a great day.
Stanly tucci isnt in ironman :P the scientists in the cave is played by Shaun Toub. Also archy is played by aaron taylor johnson known from kickass and also play Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Also the huge giant man who fight son top of the elevator is "the Dutch Giant" he had a small role in Blackwidow. Rasputtin is played by the same actor who player the lizard/ Dr curt conners from The amazing spiderman
This movie went back to what made the original Kingsman so good. I think they learned that they need to keep dead characters dead, and the weight that their deaths bring to those close to them.
I just happened to watch this last night for the first time and was very surprised that critics on the whole didn't like it as I thought it was the best of the 3. Perhaps because the tone of it is so different than what they were expecting.
good sirs, i think "along with the gods: two worlds" will be a memorable one for you to react.. its really good and super underated.. the acting is phenominal, actually theres two of them, 1) Along with the Gods: Two Worlds 2)Along with the Gods: The last 49 days I promise you, you wont regret it.. you'll love them!!! please please please give these selection a chance..

Soldier: Okay, when I see Conrad Oxford come over the horizon, I shoot him. Commander: No, no, no. When you see the enemy come over the horizon, you shoot the enemy. Soldier: Okay. Commander: Good, now repeat it back to me. Soldier: Okay, I shoot Conrad Oxford, then run over the horizon. Commander: No. He's on our side! You charge the enemy. Soldier: Right, and shoot Conrad Oxford. Commander: No, no, no, no! Soldier: Well, you know what? You're gonna have to explain it to me again, 'cause it sounds to me like I'm repeating back to you exactly what you're telling me, and obviously, you're hearing something different, so just one more time. Commander: Okay, when you see the Germans come over the horizon, you shoot them. Soldier: All right, so I shoot Conrad Oxford, and then run when the Germans show up. Commander: No, you shoot the Germans! Not Conrad Oxford. Got it? Soldier: Got it. Commander: You sure? Soldier: Yep. Commander: All right. Soldier: Hey, you know where I can find Conrad Oxford?
This movie feels like 2 different movies to me, doesn't really work going from really camp over the top fun to solemn WW1, but hopefully if they do a 3rd Kingsman or a sequel to this its a lot more tonally consistant

If you know the history of ww1 this movie is very fun to watch
With how much they get right or with how much they got wrong?
Well they got alot of things right, but they gave a fun twist to it because it is still a kingsman movie, but the gravilo princip part where he misses and then goes to a store to buy something and then they come back and he kills him is accurate. ALSO the rasputin part about the poison.
The fight where they have to stay silent is ALSO accurate
@@xphantom2096 well gravilo went to the coffee shop but yes that was slided into the plot nicely. The state of the world powers is very inaccurate/badly potrayed, the stakes are woefully different to what is shown haha think its a fun film and they get alot accurate and alot inaccurate which also adds alot of fun.
@@aaronbethom8166 i agree
Probably not liked because it's so different from the first two
I liked it but not as much as the first 2. Still a great movie nonetheless.
Always turning the tropes on their head
Cool fact, the guy playing Rasputin also played Luna lovegoods father in Harry Potter 👍
Fun fact the Founding member of Kingsman who is code named Lancelot is Eggsy’s ancestor 😮
Seriously?
The guy who played Resputon killed it lol so damn funny and odd. Whoever the stunt team fight choreographer was did a hell of a job
The guy he was fighting by the lift was the Dutch giant, he’s a body builder and is 7ft.1 (2.18m), he’s done quite a few extra roles recently as the huge dude, he’s supposed to be in the borderlands movie too
Depending on what the plot of the Borderlands movie is, I can totally see him as a Bandit leader, maybe Baron Flynt
@@SSD_Penumbra he’s playing Krom apparently
@@nugking2021 I saw that. The Borderlands cast looks great too.
@@SSD_Penumbra besides Kevin Hart being Roland lol I agree
@@nugking2021 They're obviously trying to make Roland more likeable as a character. In the first two games, he's...not the best character-wise.
ATJ, He's kick ass
"The object of war is not to die for one's country, but to make the enemy die for theirs" is a Patton quote from WWII.
Rhys Ifans' Rasputin looks like Peter Stormare.
Shepherd sounds like David Tennant.
This movie was so much fun and had a lot of heart. I can say it is my favorite of the Kingsman saga
ive been waiting for this reaction since i saw it in cinema and it FINALLY HERE i’m glad it was an incredible movie
This movie was a pleasant surprise and I honestly think I like it more than the first!
I really enjoyed this film but I think the first film was a little better but mainly down to valentine as a villain.
@tarkett85 Samuel L JAckson was so good in the first one lol
Esp the dinner scene,
"I will take the Big. MAC.
@@baseballjustin5 the lisp was perfect choice by him for that character.
I ended up seeing this movie the same week as the Legends of tomorrow episode about the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, I found it quite amusing at the time 😁
Same with me lol 😂… I was like Legends actual teach some history lol with their shenanigans
They are planning on doing a sequel to "The King's Man "and then a third one to finish Eggsy `s storyline..
I love that the music to the Rasputin fight was older but still felt like the fight scenes in the other movies
Apparently Vaughn's vision is to have several sequels and the 4th film is planned to be released next year
Regarding the question "where they actually cousins, were that really a thing?".
I saw his real life picture and he looks like my dentist
I think if you see it as a stand alone it's kinda better than if you see it as a prequel, but conrad's death did have me in tears.
I was convinced the bad guy was Simon Pegg based on the voice until the reveal
Conrad's death has got to be one of the most unexpected moments I've seen in film for a long time.
Aaron: I keep hearing Scrooge McDuck
Calvin: Probably is
The thing I love the most of the Kingsman universe is the cinematography.
In the episode of Legends that Eric and Aaron were talking about, they did show that there were multiple assassins/accomplices
I even search 'how Rasputin died' after watching this movie
And actually this movie kind of nailed it
'Twas good for history nerds. Only real issue was the film ignoring France's existance and portraying that America won the war
They were talking about the end scene where the group gets their code names. Stanley Tucci is Bedevere (at 47:15).
Didn't know Tom Hollander played the three cousins lol. I was kinda confused when he kissed Rasputin's hand. I thought "why did King of England meet with Rasputin". Turned out it was the Tsar.
Aaron: "Why like Tigers?"
Poor Melanie. haha
I really enjoyed this movie. A lot more then Golden Circle. A little bit less then the first one
This movie was trash
@@OregonSilverStacker that's your opinion
I loved it when i saw it in cinema
With The Golden Circle & The King's Man each getting sequels, it's gonna be helluva ride.
calvins reaction was the exact same as mine when the boy was shot in the head in the trench... first time in ages a movie had done that...
How did I know one of the Blindwave members would mention DC Legends. Lol
HELL YEAH! I'm super happy you guys finally reacted to this!
Every Kings Man movie has had a shocking death nobody saw coming and twist.
Glahad, Merlin and now Conrad
THIS MOVIE WAS UNDERRATED AS FUUUUCK I HOPE THEY DO A SEQUEL THAT WAR SCENE WAS GOLDEN
I was waiting for you to react to this for weeks now. I knew Eric( My spirit animal) was going to react the same way I did for those fight sequences. I hope there is another movie coming.
So underrated movie. Love the cinematography, the history events, characters (especialy Rasputin) and the choreography is so good.
I cracked up at that really off the cuff reference to scary movie 2 "Take my strong hand" hilarious
So weird seeing Baron Zemo in his element before he joined Hydra.
I like this more than the sequel. The fight scenes are more realistic.
I honestly was expecting this movie to be as crazy as the first 2. I was not expecting a war movie that was also about a man who lost his son and was fighting for peace.
I’m Lmao 🤣 at the end when Calvin said “You just gotta come out the right vagina” I’m dead 😂😂🤣
Because of the Voice, FOR THE ENTIRE TIME i was convinced its Tennant xD
"Oh"
40:00 made me chuckle since the actress who plays Polly was in the Disney Prince of Persia movie.
Gemma is awesome
I love that it feels like a completely different movie from the previous 2 films.
royal families are all intermarried, primarily because as a royal, you want to marry other royals.
I’m late to this, but Rasputin is actually the same actor who plays Otto Hightower in House of the Dragon! His range is incredible!
48:05 the point
Finally, your reaction! I was looking forward to this! Loved it!
Thoroughly enjoyed that dance-off.
This Lenin pronounces his Rs sooo hard, it's really funny to hear!
This movie went back to what made the original Kingsman so good. I think they learned that they need to keep dead characters dead, and the weight that their deaths bring to those close to them.
28:40 this scene until he gets show really make me surpresed and sad, I really hopped that he was getting away alive....
I just happened to watch this last night for the first time and was very surprised that critics on the whole didn't like it as I thought it was the best of the 3. Perhaps because the tone of it is so different than what they were expecting.
good sirs, i think "along with the gods: two worlds" will be a memorable one for you to react.. its really good and super underated.. the acting is phenominal, actually theres two of them,
1) Along with the Gods: Two Worlds
2)Along with the Gods: The last 49 days
I promise you, you wont regret it.. you'll love them!!! please please please give these selection a chance..
The movie diden't seem like a kingsman movie! It more felt like a War movie.
My LOVED the fight scene with the russian priest! And it was so damn funny with him healing the leg xD
30:09
*A few hours before.*
Commander: All right. You all know your orders. When you see the Germans come over the horizon, you open fire immediately.
Sounds about right lol 😂
Well, tbf, there were a lot of spies... but he should have been a tad more hesitant on the trigger.
I just remembered that Curt Connors, Quicksilver, Baron Zemo, and Korath the Pursuer are in this movie.
The actual quote about dying for your country is from Patton.
That very high fall just reminded me of Midsommar which is something y'all should react to.
20:15 is terrifyingly awesome, imagine that coming towards you
I thought the second was really bad and this one was okay but the first one is gold.....
This movie feels like 2 different movies to me, doesn't really work going from really camp over the top fun to solemn WW1, but hopefully if they do a 3rd Kingsman or a sequel to this its a lot more tonally consistant
