Introducing Hitler like a MCU villian post-credits is the weirdest thing a movie did in 2021
I actually found it hilarious. If it was intentional parody of Marvel post credit scenes its golden. however if it was meant to be serious its fookin sad

Kingsman is a comic series based on real life events; Hitler existed in Marvel, yet that's the extent of his life in the MCU. In Kingsman, he's equivalent in status to Thanos; historical villains are comic villains in Kingsman. Would've been better if he turned around with his tiny mustache, and said, "If you want something done right, you must do it yourself."
@@wolfrainexxx one thing i love about kingsman is that they're pretty accurate with historical facts.. Hitler doesn't have his iconic moustache at that time & he's still a little bit awkward.. Erik is actually the one who mentored Hitler in public speaking & how to "hypnotize" people with presence..
For me that scene is really good it made me think "this scene could actually happened in real life"
Whatever you think about the rest of the movie, the night fight in no man's land and the Rasputin dance battle were brilliant.

I'm surprised he didn't take a sin off for the fight scene in No Man's Land, the build up to that was a really intense scene.
And even though everyone loved Rasputin and wanted to see more of him, I kinda felt they made him too 'pervy' instead of 'weird'
The guy was a really weird guy he was a pervy dude he was banging the royal family and we all know how that goes because the royals are horndogs.
Yeah, and he was in a time period where being perverted wasn't that weird.

I mean, if we're being honest the legends of Rasputin's questionable behavior and tastes probably makes the all-time top ten list among historical figures. As with most who would make the list, these stories were very likely exaggerated, but true or exaggerated or false it's certainly in keeping to have him represented that way! Roll that up with a dash of Kingsmen absurdity, and...well, there you go. Haha.
The fight between the German and British soldiers in no-man’s-land was great and so was the Rasputin sword fight. But other than those two awesome scenes this movie was so-so.
All the action scenes were amazing. But the story was inconsistent and oddly paced

@@shortstuff780 I get what they are tryin to do with the story; the first two were nice "typical tuesday AMC action flick." The third one seems like they are trying to set up a "kings-man universe" like harry potter, marvel, james bond, etc. That's why it feels weird and inconsistent.

You have an spy thriller. A WWI gritty movie. And an family drama, mixed with an history story.
It was like there was another movie that the studio didn't want to make so Vaughn was like hey, let's mix it with my partial Kingman 3 script change things slightly and combine them
I still loved this movie
That feels like Kinsman movies in general, an average but fun movie surrounded by absolutely amazing set pieces
Sin #68. Got it wrong. That IS indeed how poisons work. Mithridatism is a practice of ingesting small amounts of poison to build up immunity from it. Rasputin was also known to practice Mithridatism, although the results were unverified. Cyanide is also one of the most common poisoning agents, so it would be fair to say Rasputin would try to build up his immunity to it.

@@jimbass1664 Precisely my point, except Iocane is a fictional poison and doesn't exist in the real world. However, there are other odourless, colourless, water soluble and tasteless compounds such as Thallium, Arsenic or Polonium-210. That last one would be more difficult to come by though.

Plus Cyanide just tastes nice.
One thing I'm surprised didn't get a sin off was the music in the Rasputin fight scene. The way the score changed back and forth between different composers depending on which side had the upper hand was absolutely brilliant and one of the best uses of a movie score I've seen in any movie. It was already a top tier fight scene but the music behind it, and accentuating it, really made it a perfect 10/10.

@@TheEternalGoth if be did sin it it would probably be because it's from another composer. If he used it to take off a sin then he would probably have to go into detail praising the music, which isn't what he's supposed to do with his channel. By the end of the day still waiting for CinemaWins to review it it's been a year and they totally should make a video on this.

I thoroughly object to sinning the events surrounding Franz Ferdinand's assassination. Reality was even more absurd. There were 7 assassins posted around Sarajevo, who had conspired to kill Ferdinand. All of them were absolutely inexperienced in basically every skill required for their task. They didn't really know how to shoot, how to handle their explosives, or even how to dose the cyanide capsules they carried with them to kill themselves. Between the 7 of them, they had four pistols and six bombs.
The first assassin didn't throw his bomb because according to his own testimony, he didn't know which car Ferdinand was sitting in. Another didn't shoot because he "felt sorry for the Princess", a third didn't act because he was clearly not psychologically prepared. The only one who did throw his bomb had to ask a policeman for the right car first. The bomb was deflected, not by an umbrella as shown in the movie, but by Franz Ferdinand's own arm (!). He tried to kill himself with the cyanide, but the dosis was too weak to kill him - so he jumped into the nearby river from a bridge that was wasn't nearly high enough to kill him. Following his arrest, Princip was just about ready to call it a day and retired to a nearby deli for a coffee.
It was there that the Archduke's car all of a sudden stopped in front of him after having taken a wrong turn. After firing two shots, Princip also tried to poison himself, but the cyanide again didn't work and he was arrested.
Either the driver was the core of the assassination plot, or God really wanted Franz Ferdinand dead.
I think the assassinations in this movie were very entertaining but they still can't beat my European history teacher's telling of them

When I watched this, I felt like I was watching two movies combined together. A slow burning historical war story of a father and son, and an action flick that happens to take place in the past. It bloated the run time and made the pacing feel weird. I feel like if they had just chosen to go one way or another it would have been a lot better than the actual result.
I think if you had better knowledge of 20th century history, then you might of appreciated it a little bit more....

@@aetosnepos7468 Yeah, historical accuracy wasn't a high priority for the writers. I enjoyed the movie though, when I chose to ignore the many deviations. If the movie was part of the MCU, they would have just slapped a "Multiverse" sticker on the bumper, and drove the hell out of it. For that, I'm grateful it wasn't.

Completely agree. Was this a hardcore WW1 movie, or a fun spy action comedy? It somehow tried to be both but failed at each. Definitely the worst film in the Kingsman series to date, which is a shame, as the spy concepts and use of historical figures as charactures of themselves was actuall pretty entertaining (even if the history as shown is mostly innacurate).
So, that Scottish soldier found out Conrad was pretending to be Archie Reid, and then he accuses him of being a German spy. Any logical soldier would’ve detained Conrad and take him to be interrogated to make sure he wasn’t a spy, but instead he immediately decided to bust a cap into Conrad’s head.
Another thing to wonder is if that Scottish soldier wasn't shot in a firing squad. At that time I would think that's the only proper reaction to killing one of your own.
Logical? It's fucking war,a guy to impersonate your best friend and showed up with a German item,what logical soldier think "maybe,just maybe this guy who just came from the German side of no man's land while impersonating a scotsman would not be a spy?

Sure, but i'm not sure logic was exactly what was going through their heads at the time. The sheer horror and brutality of the WW1 trenches is likely enough for any man to overreact at a percieved enemy within their lines, especially if that percieved enemy potentially killed their old friend to steal his identity. We can sit here today and say "that's not what one would have done" but I think that the reality is nothing was "logical" about WW1 trench warfare and it took massive tolls on soldiers mental health. I mean, standing in a trench watching countless mates being sniped or mowed down by machine gun fire while bombs consistantly shell your location for hours on end is enough to draw irrational thought out of any man.
They probably could have dirtied the guy up and made him appear somewhat shellshocked and it would have come across better, but I don't have an issue with the scene and actually thought it pretty smart and well done having just let out the breath of expectation for Conrad to die in that run to the trenches. Completely takes you by surprise.
Whether or not the final twist with Conrad was good on the storytelling front, I think most of us can agree it was a legitimate shock.
I can personally agree that it was heart-wrenching. I really didn't want it to happen. But I feel like it was absolutely necessary in the end. They built them up to be a Mary Sue. And then they showed us no.
Given that they said in the first movie that Kingsman was founded by noblity who lost their sons in the war, I was expecting it, but not quite that way. I thought he was going to be killed in the fighting and misidentified since he switched places. Possibly dumped in a mass grave or left for the crows.
The only part of the movie that was worth watching was the sequence in no man's land

its just kind of bad writing, like the trenches were bad, they weren't bad enough that soldiers were executing each other, at least on the allied side, and outside of the french trenches I guess
The fight Scene With Rasputin was probably the most fun I’ve had watching a film in a little while it wasn’t just good. More importantly it was a fun time.
He was actually about to start fighting them with his Russian Sausage, but the executives felt like that would be too much for an R rated movie

A lot of people love the first. The second one people are iffy on, although I do like when he sung Country Road. Most people don't seem to be a fan of this one.
I liked it, it was just a different style of film from the first 2 and I don't think people were expecting that.
The idea is good but it was just sooo generic, the only part I was having fun was with Rasputin.
I enjoyed this flick 10 times more than I did number two. If anything I hope that they continue with this style if they want to continue the Kingsmen storyline.

That is, in fact, how poisons work. Many kings in the Ancient Middle East and Northern Africa rendered themselves damn near immune to poison throughout the course of their reigns (with one even having a servant kill him due to his inability to poison himself) AND Rasputin actually did too.
Rasputin survived cyanide because killers fucked up and put it inside sweets. Sugar reacted with cyanide and made it safe.

Rasputin himself actually did this very thing in real life. It always amazes me how stupid Jeremy gets with things like this. Accurately depicting something in the movie that actually happened in real life isnt a sin at all, much less a sin of the movie.
Yup, this is how it works for the thousands of poisons out there. Drink one in small dosages every day and you become immune to all the others as well. Sigh.
Or better yet, why not drink liquid lead, a substance the body cannot process, every day to become immune to lead poisoning? Or how about a toast with asbestos topping every day to prepare against asbestos poisoning?

To me the huge plot point of Conrad being so young was hard to believe, he looks 25.
Debatable. My baby brother is 14, and is 5'9". My sister is as tall as all the women in my family, and she's 12. I've seen 15 year olds that were 6'4" in High School with booming voices, and full beards.
Just saying, but people do win the lottery. So call it anecdotal, but that doesn't change that it does happen; especially with Conrad, because he was well taken care of, was never malnourished, and trained on the daily. If he was a pipsqueak with a height issue, I'd have called shenanigans.

One hidden element of this movie that I enjoyed is how it managed to sneak in a pretty steady diet of lesser-known (for ye average moviegoer) historical tidbits. Obviously the movie played fast and loose with history, including some intentional changes, but that doesn't mean real history can't be included too!

@@Mr.Lubbox-Lobsterlegz1 I don't remember many specifics at this point, but even something like the Zimmermann Telegram - WWI history is not a major item in typical American education, so even something relatively notable like that would probably come as a surprise to most moviegoers. Given how much that feels like fiction, it's perfect to weave such bits in to the narrative.
@@Mr.Lubbox-Lobsterlegz1 Boer war concentration camps was absolutely wild to see in a movie and really accurate to history, meanwhile the portrayal of Wilhelm II was almost the exact opposite of how he was in real life.
Another Thing I loved about the movie was in a lot of non-historical ww1 films (Think wonder women) they have the Germans wear gas masks the entire time, so they're dehumanized as just evil dudes because you need a bad guy in the movie, and I had to really respect the balls of this movie when it had conrad rip the mask off one of the germans and it was just another young boy begging for his life.
Rasputin is so creepy in this movie that i felt like i needed an adult

At 3:28, ANY veteran will tell you that it's impossible to be a General's errand boy (yeah, that's a real thing in the military) and do ANYTHING else. The mere idea that he'd even GET to the mountain top hideaway without being screamed at by the General once he gets back for his tea being cold, let alone getting an international conspiracy going, is the most laughable part of the movie
Not to mention almost all other members being basically errand boys of even higher ranking dignities. The most important assistant of an Emperor couldn't have got there either, and we have two here.
Also, where the hell is this place where a Brit, a German and a Russian in such positions can get there without their masters noticing?
People think Kingsman is the new James Bond, but really, it's the new Austin Powers. The villains are always hilarious! 😂
I hope they keep making these, there's nothing else with their level of choreography and charm right now. I've had fun with each entry so far

The night scene in the trenches had to be the best fisticuffs fight scene I've ever seen in a movie.

O ly thing that can remotely challenge it is 1917, and there ain't much hand to hand there.
The worst thing about being late to a secret meeting in pseudo-Pandora because the lift was broken was that you were forced to settle for eggs instead of the much more King's Man-ly doughnuts.
Rasputin should’ve been the main villain. His fight scene could’ve easily been the ending.
I agree they even made it out in the trailers and posters that Rasputin will be the main villain. But instead it was “The Shepherd” a Scottish Blofeld I personally describe him as.
Oh yes, that would have made the movie so much better. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but the main villain was incredibly disappointing.

It is actually possible to build up an immunity to poisons. The first documented case of Mithridatism was by Mithridates the Great of Pontus (hence the name). Mithridates became one of the most formidable foes of the Roman Empire. When he was finally defeated, he attempted to poison himself but was unsuccessful due to his built up immunity.
Fun fact: the British flag is actually called the Union Jack
It's called the Union Flag when flown on land, when flown on a ship (as a naval jack) it is called the Union Jack. So even though he is technically correct he is being unreasonably pedantic as 99% of this country calls it Union Jack. A lot of the "sins" in this video were quite bullshit though so meh.

Given what it took to actually kill Rasputin, and a few theories even that didn't work, I legitimately expected him to get up from the headshot.
There are stories of people surviving several handgun shots to the head, because they had especially thick skulls.

If nothing else, I learned from this movie that Czar Nicholas & King George V & Kaiser Wilhelm were actually all cousins & did have a familial resemblance to each other when I fact checked it. I thought it was a plot contrivance so thank you for the history lesson, King's Man! Also, for the ancestral backstory on Ozymandias.
Wait until you find out that nearly all European leaders from 1990+ all belonged to the same "Young World Leaders" program created by the World Economic Forum, and that all US Presidents are cousins, save for one. Look up "Orphan Trains." You'd be shocked about a lot of the world, and how much is ignored in History classes.

@@maxwellhohensee9787 as others have pointed out. It’s ALTERNATE timeline. What’s “basic historic fact” to us may not have ever occurred for them. It’s not supposed to even be a depiction of anything actually fact-based. It’s an action movie that takes place in a WWII period of Europe with some people that really existed and that’s about what lines up with the “basics.”

This movie was a bit slow and boring, but i liked the action and cinematography
Never go to a Theater, and definitely do not watch the Green Knight at the Cinema.
To be fair, King George V, Kaiser Wilhelm II and Tsar Nicholas II all had wild mustaches in real life. The movie isn’t far off from reality.
At one point in history, men were proud of their beards, proud of their mustaches, proud of their height, proud of their beauty, and proud of their cods.
Now it's like men are ashamed to be men, and want to be masculine women; hell... women don't even want to be women, they'd rather be an ad for a makeup & razor commercial.

This series is supposed to be action comedies. This one lacked the comedy. Sure there were some little jokes here and there but not nearly as much silliness/charm as the first one. But there is enough silliness left that it can't be a serious action movie. It's like they filmed an action comedy then tried to edit out all the comedy and just missed some bits.
I really enjoyed this film but especially the fight scene with Rasputin. The reason it was an elaborate plan was because the writers have taken inspiration from his real life death. He was poisoned, then shot, then shot and beaten and thrown in a freezing cold river. It’s almost like the Kingsman used his RL death as a cover up. I really recommend Googling his real life death

the Scottish evil leader reveal was so dramatic I honestly thought it was merlin's great great grandfather or something, a funny twist that he became part of the organisation originated to fight his relative. I WAS 100% SURE. then it was the side guy, who we knew was shifty, and I wondered why it was such a big deal. I was so sure I missed something, that he was some big historical figure rewritten to be an evil Scottish guy. It was a pointless reveal. I think that was the one thing that ruined the film for me. I loved Ralph, Rasputin, Conrads death, all of it!
there were two movies in one though, no lie
So yes the plot/events are a bit mushed compared to even the sequel, but the fight scenes, visuals, the score (when not being boring) like before is epic, the sfx- unique camera shots started in the first film - showcasing WWI in a new light and with gore . . . there was a TON to not only like, but LOVE in this film! It had a ton of moments that I genuanly said "Ok that was pretty good" or hell ok yes...the fight with Rasputin was . . . a bit pervy but frak was the whole thing a wild ride that said to hell with it and tried new shit . . . 20 sins removed - the rest are fare.

Just saw the movie finally and I’m honestly iffy on it. Rhys Ifans as Rasputin sold the movie for me and his fight sequence with the Overture was perfection. Even as I was watching it, I was thinking “there’s no way they can top this moment. Nothing will top it.” and I was right… then they killed Rasputin and that immediately set me off for the rest of the film. Why the fuck would you kill your best character? Seriously!
It’s almost like they shot the film, edited it, and realized that Rasputin was the best fucking villain and should have been but couldn’t go back and reshoot because of COVID and just stuck with what they got and instead of a superior film with Ifans Rasputin as the real baddy, we got the inferior bullshit no one cares dude. Vaughn really screwed himself there. He had a PERFECT villain.

Funnily enough I just got around to watching this on Disney+ last night (bc Canadian Disney+ actually has adult content on it that isn’t just the former Marvel/Netflix shows & is a much more well rounded service bc of it). What a funny coincidence.
Disney+ is about to get some extremely violent content (Multiverse of Madness), and some real adult content (The Eternals) pretty soon.

I have to say, i quite enjoyed this movie. The setting , the fight scenes (of course...) and that they tried to be very historical accurate (besides the actual kingsman and the bad organisation). On the other hand, like u said already, there should have been more kingsman stuff in it and how he actually established his private secret service . Hence its a prequel, i don't expect all this in the beginning, but maybe a bit earlier in the movie. Also the father son dynamic was a bit odd (and a bit unnecessary), but i rly liked the decision to have Conrad killed.
If they tried to be very historical accurate, they failed miserably. I never seen a more botched representation of the events of WW1

I've never encountered a movie that had a worse identity crisis than this one, multi-story movies INCLUDED.
I was so excited for this movie. It stands out as easily one of the worst films I’ve seen in years. I was agonizingly bored while watching it. By the time anything exciting and of relevance happened, the movie was 10 minutes from ending in my opinion already made!

The first half of the movie actually made me invested, though they should have dropped the whole killed wife stick and gone immediately with Conrad being introduced to their spy/rogue group the moment he came of age instead of beating around the bush.
Would have made it more interesting.
The second half, especially 14:18 just had me slamming my head against a wall.
This man just dedicated his entire late life to working in the shadows and despises the whole war and bloodshed, and everyone around him is trying to push the idea that dying in the war is something honorable and smart to do, and he should man up and be more like his son.
HIS SON IS DEAD, meanwhile Orlando achieved ten times what his son did by simply working in the shadows.
None of their rubbish makes sense and Orlando was 100% in the right, and is now in a depression due to being 100% right but everyone else being too headstrong to listen!
nothing can beat the church blood bath scene from the first one no matter how many sequels and prequels they make.
