could we get an extra sin for the fact that Nathan Drake didn't shoot anyone in the movie, while in the games thats about half of all he does.
Also, zombies.
Nah, Sony don't have balls to make this kind of movie
For some reason the movie is also under 15 hours; What do you think they cut out to achieve that?
So much murder of people just doing they jobs in the games. What the hell was that
@@MrRapperj "Their Jobs" was to murder him. What that was is self defense.
"Is he still playing Peter Parker?" Yes! That's exactly what I said during that scene.
Lol, literally
This little fella can't even carry a sack of potatoes, let alone a movie franchise
same
and the whole movie?? lol
Tom Holland though seriously?
Getting Mark Wahlberg to mimic Sully's charisma is like getting a goat to bleat the national anthem
Yeah. I like both these actors but they were terribly cast.
What? Noo!
That is very insulting to the intelligence of goats.
Wahlberg should have been Nathan and the kid should not have been in this movie.
@@dsan17 OR instead of Mark Wahlberg, why not just get the actor who played Sully in the games? Guy looks like him too
12:59 Actually, Uncharted 2 did this very well. You start the game shot, bleeding, hanging off the side of a cliff in a train car. No backstory, no context, nothing. Then it goes back in time after that chapter, and builds your way up to that moment. You give people a taste of the really interesting shit, and then have them go back in time to build them up to that moment and fill in the holes of knowledge one by one.
Yeah honestly I'm not a fan of that way of opening, but uncharted 2 was just such a masterpiece, it just worked.
@slickbait6791 didn't uncharted 4 start in the past?
@@softis2000 Yes and no, it started with the 5min boat sequence in the present time and then hopped in the past. Overall I'd count it as starting in the past though
as someone whos beaten the first 3 uncharted games, may i ask if the filmmakers ever paid attention to their resources?
That'd make too much sense. An might ACTUALLY work. So for most part nearly none of them will ever so much as try to do that
The director or writer or someone in charge said that they were creating their own Uncharted property. It wasn’t supposed to be like the video games eventhough this movie is just Uncharted 3 and 4 but you know. Terrible.
In the words of one exceptionally highly paid Hollywood writer
"I don't have time to play a video game, I have a screenplay to write! "
@@SparkY0 yeah, it's not like doin any research an study of the lore an source material couldn't Possibly make for a good movie or anything. It's like Hollywood is afraid of making a decent movie
It’s funny cause the one uncharted game you haven’t paid being four is the game they were going off
I’m a HUGE uncharted fan and I ask this: WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?! If this was just your average Tom holland adventure movie it would be fine, but they just had to add the game label to the movie. At least the last of us show looks great because it ACTUALLY USES THE SOURCE MATERIAL
Has the show been released?
No but there has been plenty of set photos and everything is extremely accurate
@@lauracoles5595 well in that case can't wait to see it

EXACTLY MAN. I watched it about a week ago and I was just mad throughout the whole thing. It wasn’t uncharted at all. I didn’t find it good as a stand alone movie either.
Ok, in my humble opinion, this movie deserves easily another 100 sins for the complete disregard for science, and another 100 for the whole, “HOW DID NOBODY SEE THAT BEFORE WHEN EVERYONE WAS SEARCHING FOR $5B OF GOLD?”
Yeah movies never like to follow logic!

135th sin: Nobody accidentally happened upon the MASSIVE hole in this jungle with two ancient ships in it. Their masts are literally sticking out of the hole!
"ancient" lmao
Keep in mind that most of these films do not start with "I have this great script based on a known franchise," and is instead "Make a movie exactly like this last successful film. Here's a random script to use. Change everything, but keep the name."

The fact that Nathan Fillion didn’t play Drake and Stephen Lang didn’t play Sully are the two biggest sins.
if they wanted to make a franchise, nathan fillion wouldn't have been a wise choice
@@nohigherbeing because he's already on the older side
I’m getting sick of movies where people have to solve a puzzle from hundreds of years ago that is in the middle of a modern city and no one has ever dug up the secret room while building a skyscraper, or accidentally dig a tube through it, and all the mechanisms and traps have been regularly oiled and maintained and still work flawlessly. They have become cliche and unbelievable….
Barcelona is hardly a modern city. And you can't dig in old town centre without shit tonne of permits. I know because I live in a city with 2000 year old ruins under it
@@ChR0nos_7734 I’m talking all this style movie though…. Idk anything about Barcelona specifically but they’ve done this kind of crap in every city.
Nicolas Cage did this cliche better
Well idk about other movies but the only times I've seen this type of trope was in cities like Barcelona or Rome, aka very old historic cities where you can't just dig wherever you want to. So if there's a puzzle below an old church in an old city, chances are no excavations have been made near there in centuries.
I can see your point about the mechanisms all working perfectly after such a long time, though. Unless there's a reason I don't know for why an old trap could still work well today with no maintainence (I bet some were made with that in mind), then it doesn't make sense.
@@semoremo9548 the answer to one of the puzzles is in a Papa John’s and a night club and has modern storm drains connected to it….. it makes sense in the church, even if the mechanism would have been rusted out over a few hundred years and not turn as easily as they did.
Out of all of the ridiculous reasons of why that treasure would have been found immediately, I really like that all anyone ever had to do was look down the giant hole.

This movie should have come out 10 years ago with Bradley Cooper as Nate and Bruce Campbell as Sully
Would have been Amazing
I love you
Or even if they wanted Wahlberg for this movie, should've just cast him as Nate as that was their original plan before the movie switched directors and writers that made Wahlberg getting more older to the point that he was cast as Sully instead. Or just go with Nathan Fillion as Nate
Mister Campbell is the most serially underused actor of his times, EVEN Sam Raimi could use him more than he does.
I had never thought of Bruce Campbell as Sully and you just made me sad that this won't happen.
Waw, great casting !
Nathan Fillion could also have been great 10 years ago ;)
"Nathan Fillion isn't playing Nathan Drake in this scene"
Not just that scene, but the whole movie
I would have loved that!
Nathan did better in a short film of Uncharted 5 years before this film even released
15:32 And this is not including the amount of waterlogging going on with the ship having sat in water for however long it has been sitting with zero maintenance. Which will significantly increase the weight of the ship by about 20%. There is absolutely no way at all that a single Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane could lift that. But then again, the Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane couldn't have lifted that ship even if it was empty and not waterlogged because the smallest of the carracks that Magellan set out with was called the Victoria, and weighed 85 tons empty. A Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane is able to lift, at maximum, a load of about 10 tons.
That's not counting that as depicted in the film, the types of ships used by Magellan on his voyage were carracks. At the time of their use, these were not ships known for their resistance to the elements. In fact, constant maintenance was required lest they literally deteriorate while in use. Such ships, after having been abandoned and partially submerged, while also in a tropical climate, would likely have rotted away to nothing after such a time.
That research also took me about 30 seconds.
And lets not forget the several tons of gold in the hold.
Hey...it's a movie based on a video game that has zombies...why are you expecting real world physics to apply?

Uncharted 4 is one of my favorite games ever, and just after watching the trailer for this movie I knew I shouldn't watch it because it would just make me too angry. Every character is about 20-30 years younger than they should be, they ruined every bit of the story that made the game good, all the "puzzles" are stupid as hell... I could go on. What a disaster.
Actually man!!!! like they looked at Tom Holland and thought Nathan drake ? HUH , I like the kid actors in the beginning though they actually looked like the real brothers, but besides that the in game cinematics are putting this movie to shame.
@@thybreadstick101 totally. Tom would probably have been a really good young Nathan, but by Uncharted 4 he's supposed to be in 40s. Whether they like it or not, Tom Holland looks like a teenager. Not the right move. That's not to mention the fact that Sully is supposed to be in his mid 60s, and Mark Wahlberg looks like he's 40
@@viis yeah in 20 years they both have the perfect age for U4
I don't care that much about Tom Holland. At least he acts like Drake, but Mark as Sully is a complete disaster. I don't care that he doesn't look like Sully, but his performance is just default funny Mark Wahlberg and doesn't remind me of Sully in any way. Keep Tom Holland and recast Sully.
@@bobthegoat7090 I'd disagree, Tom Holland's acting just doesn't do it for me.
I'd have added a sin for the goons happenstancing their way into a rave that just so happened to hold a clue for the treasure without going the secret way that main characters did.
haha exactly! How did they find that rave???
Chloe
but Chloe didn't know where that rave was until she arrived there, and she was with Tom Holland the whole time.
nate and sully react to explosions before the shot switches to them. they likely blew their way in somehow, which could be a nice reference to the game - rafe and nadine used dynamite constantly.
You should have included Nolan North’s cameo and taken off a few sins because that was the best part of the movie.

The emperor's new groove started with the third act then jumped back, it was also super guilty of narration but I don't think the movie would have worked better without either. In fact I believe it benefits from both of them because it abuses narration to a hilarious degree and subverts the idea by having the character argue with the narrator version of himself when everything syncs back up.
"Nathan Fillion isn't playing Nathan Drake in this scene"
Nolan North isn't playing Drake in this scene, despite him being the facial model, facial capture, voice and mo-cap actor in the games.
You're probably thinking "Nolan's too old to be a young Drake" and my answer is no-one wanted Young Drake anyway. It's like making the first Sonic movie be about Silver the Hedgehog.
I doubt that he actually cares about Nathan Fillion playing Drake he never played the games.
@@generalkinobi6215 Nathan Fillion made a whole 18-minute Uncharted Fan Film which was absolutely fantastic. You don't have to have played the games to know that Fillion would be the better Nathan Drake

i thought the movies action sequences were fun to watch, but both the physics and the plot are dumb 70% of the time
I'll tell you one thing though, the part in this movie where young Nathan Drake reads Sam's message that says "Never forget, you're a Drake. I love you." actually got me emotional. 😢
11:12-11:20 One extra sin for how easily Nate was knocked out by Chloe. He had the perfect chance to get the drop on her when she lowered her gun and turned around. This made me laugh so hard.
When I saw the movie there were 2 other groups besides me in the entire theatre. This movie was a fun distraction, but it made my popcorn taste bad. I think one group had the same reaction because they left about halfway through. I sat through it, but the entire time I was counting the sins due to the misrepresentation of science. The only thing that kept me from leaving was knowing Tom Holland did most of his own stunts. I kind of wanted to see how crazy they would get.
Yep, I was there for Tom Holland's stunts, and ONLY that.
After being amazed with Arcane: League of Legends, time to be reminded of how disappointing video game movies can get.
Arcane though, was made by Riot and their own established teams, so it only makes sense they would be able to craft their series the way they wished and envisioned. As well as, they have talented writers in their hands, and took their time. It's a shame that most of the time, adapting videos into movies always turn out bad, because of the short run time they have to use in order to place SO much into the movie itself. Maybe if they start just making series instead, they'd have better luck...though, looking at Halo from Paramount, that also doesn't seem like a good idea.
Just need people who actually CARE to craft these movies/series, instead of people who just want to use the IP for their own means.
@@XDarkEcho I’ve never played League Of Legends, but I enjoyed it without any knowledge of the games before hand. What matters is that it is possible to please both fans and newcomers alike while breaking new grounds in a medium that is seen by some as kids stuff.
@Sugoma nuts Because the game in itself, is a shit show. However, the WORLD and CHARACTERS of the game are great, and well done. Arcane is a great spectacle of a series, based off the game, which gives more life to this character than the game MOBA will ever do. As well as, you don't have to worry about toxic community, that you're fated to play with; it's a show you can watch and enjoy.
@Sugoma nuts league makes me lose the will to live. the lore is wonderful, because its not run by the player base
The worst thing about this movie is it doesn't follow the video games at all

He missed one of the biggest sins in the after credits. In one scene the Bad guy has a necklace on while Nathan is walking away. Then all of a sudden Nathan says he Took the neckalce from the bad guy and opens his hand revealing it. Apparently Nathan can teleport objects.
they teleported objects multiple times. like when. Chloe was just standing next to nates closed backpack and somehow stole the cross
One way you can end up better for an hour-long flashback: you do the dramatic action sequence at the start, then cut to the past, do the whole movie, but this time you stay on another character that the audience likes, and use the flashback to arrange for the other character to pull off an improbable rescue. So instead of a rescue out of nowhere, the audience goes "oh I saw this! Nice!"

That's actually rather sensible to do. It's very hard to rememeber where you parked your car in a city you don't know without taking mental/physical notes of indicators such as street names, shops and all. Imagine finding your ship in the middle of the sea.
It's even worse after a few years. It becomes absolutely impossible to remember. It's smart to set up a way to help you remember while making sure that not everyone could decypher your indications.

Like Nathan actually hitting with the cannon, or Sully suddenly turning right onto a dangerous canyon to evade Braddock's chase, but somehow having Braddock's ship at the end of the canyon in "surprise, but not really because it was obvious" fashion, despite having to have gone the long way around - and if not, Sully should have known or expected them to be there, as they are not running away on a metropolis where they can go into an alleyway,
This video just confirms Jeremy has Chandler Bing's consciousness
Extra sin for Tom Holland playing Nathan drake
I just have to say this- if I'm correct, the scene with those empty wine bottles was in Europe. Nine is not that much for us
The fact that fans have agreed on who they want to play these characters and the fact that Nathan Dillion and Stephen Lang actually made a short film as said characters makes this film's existence an abomination and I'm not even interested in watching cinemasins tear it up because each frame is a reminder of what it should have been
As somebody who recreationally jumps out of airplanes, the entire plane scene was bullshit.
5:18 To be fair, I don’t think anyone (regardless of nationality or whatever) would’ve understood this guy. When I saw this for the first time, all I was able to make out was “big boys” and “proper Scottish welcome.”
OK can we talk about how fucking stupid it is that they managed to pack that much gold into that little of a backpack and not be stuck to the ground as if they have an anchor on their back because gold weighs a lot it’s a soft metal but it weighs a lot
Not to mention Drake at the final reveal (spoilers) has like five gold bars in his pockets that he then gives to sully but your pockets would have holes in them because assuming you’re super human for the fact that you can just pick up gold bars without any effort then your pants are just gonna rip because of the tension
More of that videogame physics at work; have you seen how Nathan Drake can tirelessly hang off the side of a cliff/sign/ledge to remain out of sight of an enemy thug? Or how his clothes remain intact despite all of the obstacles, impacts, bullets etc... Drake endures? 😅
@@lazarushernandez5827 Same with agent 47 in hitman
Just like Doom Guy carrying as many guns as a standard country's military would have access to. Heck, maybe even a tank in his back pocket for emergencies.
A sin knocked off for not seeing Nathan’s voice actor Nolan North sitting on the beach chillin
Missed one: if he had to dive and swim to the ships, how did the others sail in to the cavern immediately after?
From what I saw and heard there were a few explosions, I guess they created a bigger entrance that way. Still completely illogical
They cared bombs, for some reason, to make a bigger entrance.
Sin 25 is one of the most hilarious you’ve ever had.
"Is he still playing Peter Parker?" Same question I asked myself Cinemasins
A possible explanation (that I have no idea if it works or not but hear me out) - the character Nate is a fan of the Naughty Dog studio, which is why he has the sticker. After the events of the movie are over, Nate sells the rights to tell his story to Naughty Dog, so at the time of the chest being opened, the Uncharted games do not exist in that universe as the events the games are based on are still unfolding.
Nathan could actually be a fan of Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot since Naughty Dog did create both of the games before Uncharted.
I was really hoping he would do this movie, thanks!
There are many more sins missed in this movie. 2 that I was hoping to see were:
- Why write the coordinates down when Drake found where the gold was. He wrote down a fake one, I get why he did that, but he wrote another one down that shows where the gold is but uses his phone to find those coordinates and to locate the cave, and never needed to use the paper with the coordinates.
- Sullivan took a short cut to get on the other side of the mountains only to be met up by the other helicopter he left behind who had to maneuver around or above the mountain and fly faster than Sullivan to cut him off.
If Sony doesn't get rid of AVI ARAD
Their cinematic universe of Spider-Man characters isn't gonna last long
You missed a sin for the fact that somehow civilian’s obtained a military exclusive cargo plane, a c17.
Can we get a sin for how Nate flips the pages of this hundreds of years old journal? We can assume those pages are fragile as shit and he’s flipping them like they’re pages from his composition notebook.
it bothered me how a chunk of this movie took place in the city and public places when the games is mostly jungles, deserts and ruins of old civilization
"Nathan doesn't shoot people!"
That's not even a problem. How about the fact that they don't even explore a tomb? They just go straight from a Barcelona cathedral to a pacific island. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 has a tomb/temple scene lol
I forgot this move was released until I saw it was available to watch. I'm glad I didn't. I am very fond of the Uncharted series.
They should have made a version of uncharted that closely resembled the Nathan Fillion short film. Better yet its a shame no studio picked that up and created a full version of that short fil.
There’s also a massive continuity error. Why is Chloe in this film if she’s introduced in the second game as a new character that had never met Nate.
One theory is that it's not a prequel to the games, more so an alternate universe of the game.
