Guys, I've think found "the biased British media" Verstappen fans are allowed banging on about... Look guys, he's from the North East. He's basically Scottish.
@riancastermans1607 what or who do you think they're biased for/against? Specifically the British media, because I assume the rest of the media globally is immune. The Italians for example would never dream of bias.
@@backofthegridF1 Yup done that. Never pick a fight with an ex DTM driver like Liam. He spent all his non racing time looking at everyones data and driving styles.
Sorry to hear you couldn't take the time to actually hear the full take on the matter and instead made a snap decision on an early comment, but that's your prerogative. But, you can't say anything about our bias or otherwise if you didnt actually take the time to listen to it.
Missing to see the pace of Norris in free air, make me stop to watch any further. You look Britisch without a sportshart to primary acknowledge the greatness of Verstappen performance. Too much bitterness or no enthousiasm to understand what the race was about. One man with a pace and ability to pass others in these conditiones, performing many laps with almost no mistake and perfect tyre management, by which he created his own opportunity to stay out longer than Russell/Norris.. The sad faces without enthousiasm for Max performance make British pity and again, does not show understanding about F1 driving.
Exactly, we didn’t see Norris in clean air because he bottled the start again. Then he couldn’t overtake Russel. I mean max was also driving in dirty air when he overtook like 10 cars. Norris wanted to pit so he can undercut Russel, and to avoid that from happening Mercedes pitted Russel first and both of them got unlucky
@@backofthegridF1 i had the same thoughts as poster above to be honest. I however did not quit listening to the podcast. The "bias" the poster is mentioning is coming from one of you solely. Bloke in the gray jacket is a Max hater & a Brit lover... 1 man was making passes… 1… The risk to stay out Max already said was obvious that no matter the old inters or new inters it’s boat either way… & even Piastri in 9th, Bearman in the back were all screaming red flag for conditions. No vision, rivers, standing water.. Norris shouldn’t be bitching, it’s the wet tire gamblers that got screwed. They were 7-10 seconds a lap faster in that deluge… But those conditions were way worse than what cancelled quali… Why wouldn’t someone stay out… Funny this guy. “It’s clean air.” “Max wasn’t making ground”… mate your boy started pole & got dragged, & even before the red flag Max had the purple lap… I don’t think Max had “clean air” going from 17th-4th… then why’d he have the fastest lap? Wild, in dirty air too… must have been a fluke..
With due respect very entry level point of view & not able go to the depth of different points they discussed. Like three was a legitimate reason why max stayed out lando pitted. Lando was not able pass russel, he should have been much more aggressive. Lando asked to pit first to his team, they said no. Then after sometime they called him. Max was able to pass and look after his tires better than any other, which influenced the decision of staying out. Not sure why you guys missing this points.
Pretty sure we said exactly this, that Max was capable of passing and did so. There was little to no one that he jumped just from staying out and we covered that fact. We also covered the fact that Lando was the only one asking to come in and the fact that Max and George chose to stay out because they could do more in the conditions.
Every other driver pulled away after Norris and Russel because literally as you said they were told to?! Of course they should penalise the ones that got it wrong and endangered the marshals lives. Don’t understand your logic at all
fact of the matter is norris spun twice and made mistakes so doesnt really matter if no one got to see his pace and frankly he did not have much pace. Max on the other hand overtook quite a few drivers starting 17th on the track. He had to be much more careful to avoid other cars bumping into him while Noriis was at pole and at the front end and still couldnt do anything. Also verstappen was doing fastetst laps even when he was behind in the queue. You guys have to admit it that ur boy Norris drove clumsily, and oh about Max getting lucky well he got himself upto 3rd place from 17th to put himself in that luck factor. If he did not move up places the red flag would absultely mean nothing to his race so for him to get lucky 1. his team made the right call and 2. he put himself from 17th to 3rd and that he did purely on his talent (without DRS on a wet surface) and after which the red flag was called. So yeah once again you boy Norris after being on pole drove clumsily. Admit it guys.
If you listen to the audio conversations between Max and Lambiasi (i hope i spell that right) it wasn't even a call by RB to ask max not to box... It was Max that suggested it himself to try to stay out for a little bit longer.. I think looking at the standing waters and 90% of the grid on inters knowing the heavy downpour would only last 4 minutes a VSC or SC or red flag was likely to happen so he needed 12 seconds between him and Lando to exploit a track position gain by not boxing.
@@randar1969 It's easier to call him GP in my opinion 🤣 But yeah, great call by Max and the Alpines to wait it out because you could see something coming, even if it had just been a safety car to swing the advantage their way
Not a single mistake by Max, but Lando on the other hand. He can't deliver under pressure and he lost all the respect I had for him when he said it was all luck, not talent. In other words all his victories were luck too.
That isn't the FIA, that is the team. He literally scoffs and says "they are doing an extra formation lap, I suggest we follow" after initially saying there would be a 6 minute wait. Norris and Russell, maybe even the VCARB's were all lucky to not get higher penalties for starting the chain reaction.
lando has lucky that max was for him because if he was behind him than he landed in the wal with that pressur behind him.. norris lose al from russel sow max was more stress for norris
i mean lando benefited from pitting on vsc compared to the one that pitting normally.. what so different with pitting on red flag benefiting driver more then on yellow flag.. its the same things
@7:30ish -- drivers got msg to drive under the yellow lights. Lando and Russel etc did not get that message. thats why they were under investigation after the race
Not exactly although the message thing is correct. Lando and Russel where in the front row. They got fined 5k for failing to wait for green lights , there where others behind them also following them they got a pass as they where reacting to the car in front of them. The rest who didn't started got the message to do another warmup lap not only Lando and Russel where under investigation everyone moving before the message came out where. Still though there where marshalls busy on the track removing Strolls car when Lando didn't wait for green lights. Remind you Max got 50k fine for touching Hamiltons wing after a race year or so prior. I don't see how that is ten times worse to do but alaz perhaps my Dutch bias creeping in.
Love to listen to the Brits, when British drivers mess up, British journalists will be sour losers. 'Verstappen had free air.' ... 'A red flag is a lotery.' ... 'With the red flag, the biggest losers are the fans'. Yeah, the fans lost, it was an awful race.
