I think it can be hard for those of us who have experienced demonic possession, to the point of extreme delusions, voices, and torment, being physically controlled and commanded, once we come to Jesus and are reborn of water and spirit to understand that we are no longer possessed when we continue to experience it. I was experiencing these things under the diagnosis of schizoaffective and I had no hope until I found Jesus but I chose to put my faith in Him for deliverance. I was reborn but it still took a few years for the torment to subside , now the devil still attacks sporadically but going from all day every day torment to daily freedom ... feeling like a "normal person" may feel. It's undeniable and incredible. I just kept at church, prayer, fasting, the word. I was being tormented for 7 years... and every seventh year the Israelites were commanded to set their slaves free which is cool . I still consider it deliverance, even though i was filled with the Holy Spirit, because throughout the word of God, He "delivers" His people from His adversaries. I kept telling myself "It's already done." even though it didn't feel done.

I too have had experience where I have been tormented due to when I was NOT attempting to talk to the devil but I would hear a voice I thought God was talking to me, highjacking my emotions and so I listened and then find out it was not God I was oppressed and stuck with this for yrs, I have kept going to church no matter how I feel. I still go and keep seeking the Lord, and claiming I’m free. It’s a daily thing , due to my mind wants to go back and I don’t want to, a habit I have to give to Jesus.I was told this has been due to my father molested me, so I’ve experienced it for years of hearing “God” talking to me. It sounds like you still need deliverance. You also have what is called Strongholds to deal with. Once you go through deliverance you still have to break down the fortress that has been placed on your mind. Even after demons are removed they will still come back to bother you but now you have the authority to command them to leave in Jesus name. Sometimes deliverance comes in stages. You don't always get them all at once. It can be like an onion. You peel back one layer at a time. You have to go into all the different rooms of your heart and uncover some things.
@@joanned1910 You need deliverance. Your open door was the trauma due to being molested. This would be tied to Fear, shame and rejection. Also, probably depression and sadness. There are several other things that can be tied to this as well. If you are hearing a voice you absolutely have a demon that needs to be cast out. You need to forgive your father. Find someone that knows how to cast it out in Jesus Name. It needs to be called out by name and commanded to come up and out of you in the Name of Jesus. You will also have many Strongholds to deal with.

When I wrote the Spiritual House Cleaning Manual, I did it from a place of "tongue in cheek", since it was written we have given away literally thousands of copies of the manual, and it has been used by many of our missionaries world wide, to help people come out of Wicca and other pagan practises. However, even dealing with the topic lightly, we know demons are real, demons do torment and demons can oppress and depress a person, but a Holy Ghost filled Christian can't be possessed. I'm thankful the manual has helped many clean out their homes and lives from pagan practises and has helped many pursue a deeper relationship with Christ and helped many receive Biblical salvation, while learning of true Biblical holiness. Dealing with many coming out of Wicca and paganism has been a blessing in my life and when we show the deep, powerful, love of our precious savior through prayer, and the Word... Jesus will do the rest.
I am not a UPC minister, but think that the clear and sound teaching of Dr. Bernard is the best explanation of this that I have ever heard. Years ago (The 1970s) when I went on a fast on just water for six days shut in a barn praying night and day with prayer into the late nights. The Lord revealed to me that being completely filled with the Holy Ghost and staying full will keep the devil out. After that fast I was baptized in Jesus Name (Although I was baptized by the Trinitarian method in 1968). I have always baptized people in Jesus name as a minister. Dr. Bernard"s emphasis on the flash causing problems is something the deliverance ministers don't emphasize. I also believe like brother Bernard said a person has to desire to be free, and it includes consideration of other things more than oppressive demons being the main problem.

Many times people go to Jesus, they get set free, then they don't continue to be persistent, and consistent with moving forwards with Jesus, in the word, applying the word, and allowing that transformation to take place daily. Many believe they are saved, and it's heartbreaking on how they are confused, deceived or simply don't want to stop sinning. It truly is a very strong spiritual battle. On this subject , David has very little knowledge of the spiritual realms and how they operate in legality. It's sad but that is the truth. The Scriptures show Jesus deliver many from demons that had LEGAL RIGHT over them say from SIN. Before that altar is broken, being born again won't break it. People go to proven deliverance ministers. I see thousands even fly across the world for freedom. It's all biblical as the Holy Spirit is the one who reveals.

It says in the book of Jude that even Michael the Archangel did not dare utter a slanderous condemnation against the devil...,but only say Lord rebuke you! I would be careful picking a fight with the devil.
We cast out demons in the Name of Jesus. We are the vessel that Jesus uses. Jesus is the one that removes them. You need to do a little research and read the bible. Jesus commanded his disciples to go and cast demons out of the people and spread the gospel. When they said there were other people casting out demons in his name. Jesus told the disciples that if they aren't against us, they are for us. This is very hard evidence that in fact we can cast out demons in the NAME OF JESUS. It's not by our own works. We also aren't trying to SAVE anyone. We are being used by Jesus to help set them free of bondages.

They tried to cast out demons “in the name of Jesus that Paul preaches.” We don’t cast out demons by our own power but by the power of Jesus’ name. The reason why they were doing that is because Paul WAS casting out demons in Jesus name and they were trying to copy it. That's how I interpreted it anyways.
I believe Satan and his demons can influence ones ignorance, as in the case of Peter.This is not possession. More so, when one is not yet converted. I’ve seen these deliverance ideology “demon slayers” even lead people away from Oneness. The number one thing I’ve noticed from these “demon slayers” like Isaiah Saldivar is pride.
I have met all of these people and been to mass deliverances and it is the real deal. When you call someone else prideful you may need to take a look in the mirror. I say this kindly.

I have received the revelation that Matthew 7:22-23 is directly pointing at a lot of these “deliverance ministers”. They do not know Jesus as the one true God. They are trinitarians at the heart of their beliefs. They are prophesying in His name. Casting out demons in His name. Performing healing and wonderful works in His name. They however do not believe Jesus is the one true God. They believe that God is 3 persons. This belief is pagan at its core. The Godhead is in Jesus, Jesus is not in the Godhead. If you do these works, but don’t know Jesus and believe solely in Him, you risk His words: “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Yes. You're on the path to destruction as a real backslider until you repent and God accepts you back
In short, yes! But by coming back and repenting, God will restore that person. That’s the mercy of God calling that person back to salvation.
