its good to see a programme that shows the pain involved in getting tattooed! I think she did realy well, its a nice piece. I sat for 10 hrs on my back piece and its still not finished!
i agree totaly,if someone is fast at line work, you hardly get used to it and they're all ready on a fresh area. The best thing about shading (depending on the design) is that the artist can be working on one area for a while, so that area will numb a little, which makes it bareable.
The artist got the Phoenix upside down. In Phoenix rising the phoenix's head should be pointed up! Unless she intended the viewer to be looking from above her head while she is on all four, of course.
what a beautiful masterpiece! I Love to have the Phoenix tatoe on my back as well but I have to draw mine first between a atr piece like that and a tribal mixed together.
I found the line work on my back piece was much more painfull than the shading, ive been in the chair for 8 hrs so far, and accross the spine was the most painfull of all. But, i look at my tattoo every day and im constantly blown away by the quality of the artwork. Which is what its all about.
4 hours is about right she didn't color the whole thing in so she didn't have to saturate it with color the bottom had some black not a lot n the top had pieces of color it wasn't completely colored in it would have been done in less time if she didn't have to keep stopping 3-3 1/2 hours is normal time for that since its not full color
you can do it...you want it ...go for it...you'll have an amazing piece of art with you always...plus you'll be proud of yourself for overcoming you fear..
nikole did my sisters tattoos, these days its not easy to get her to do your tattoo, you have to write her a serious letter because she has so many clients. but she is stunningly talented
@MetalSnakesUK Thanks hun. Nice to see youre not one of the haters! Trust me, a much less experienced tattoo artist would have taken a LOT longer, so im lucky! 4 hours was pretty bad, as my body went into shock at the last hour, but it was hella worth it, and 3 years later my tat still looks hectic. I couldnt lay on my back for 2 days! xx
both you and the tatoo look beautiful! wow I'm getting a tatoo too - but I want a heads up on what it feels like getting one...I heard that some areas hurt more than others and I just want so info since I feel a little lost.
this is a great tattoo! the phoenix looks amazing! i have my arm booked, its a half sleeve with a phoenix and japanese samurai mask i only hope it turns out this good!!! only 4hrs work!
@PlazaMoon: Why critisize someone for having a beautiful tattoo? This was her choice and it doesn't matter to anyone but her why she had it done. It obviously meant a great deal to her to do it, and 4 hours of inking is quite a feat, even although its a stunning piece of art.
i have a phoenix tattoo on my back too... i decided to havr a phoenix to celebrate my 21 bday. It was very painful... but now i dont usually look at it....and dont really bother to have a new tattoo
something can be put on the skin which numbs it however, it increases the risk of infection as the skin is not clean therefore they do not numb before tattooing
what a great tat im gettin a phoenix sleeve soon cant wait, hope it turns out as good as that. regrets?.......you only live once, enjoy yourself. tatoos that you end up regretin are the ones you get when your pissed and stupid if you take your time and choose something you really want its an original work of art that is yours forever. PEACE!
Ooo! Poor Jade, but she hung on in there. :-) When I saw the finished work, It made me catch my breath. It's bloody stunning! :-O I know that the artist is following a pre-printed ink, but there's still a whole lot of accuracy and feeling for the image going on there. Great work! Personally I've never considered a tatoo, till recently. Hmmm
Its me whose gettin the tattoo done - although i didnt post this video! it hurt like fuck, but its sooo worth it in the end. its like having a scaple ran down your back over and over again. I was in pain for the last hour - not the whole 4! But i guess that makes good tv. its amazing to see ive had almost 16000 hits, im well impressed. Nikole Lowe was an amazing tattooist, and helped me along the whole way. shes so cool.i feel so priveledged to have been on the show. Jayd Kent
that is just gorgeous. shes a brave girl. i just had a three hour sitting for a thigh piece last week and near that three hour mark i was dying. another hour woul dhave been pure torture
ah mines on my shin/calf its a snake and apple piece of work looks amazing i love it... but i thought the shin would hurt, but the calf was terrible worst ive had
im 17 and i have a few piercings when im in my 20s i really wanna have a tattoo problem is, i can never think of any design or roughly what i want done
do u have one? i dont think ill get one. just on the basis like u said, they may look cool now but when im like 50 - 60 will it be cool then? and all thse people going ur body is a canvas... well how about go and buy a canvas (which you can change or throw away if you get bored of it!)
How did that take ONLY 4 hours?!?! Such admiration for the artist
She is a fast tattoer
Time is Money
I was shocked when I heard that as well.
I was thinking the same. Ive had 14 hours on my back so far and not even started colour yet. Its a whole back piece too.
The client is a small petite woman which makes for a pretty small canvas.
This is why I love tattoos. They're just amazing pieces of art that I can carry around for the rest of my life.
The girl with the phoenix tattoo.
Nikole is a great artist, I'd love to see more of her work
Love how straight forward the artist was about the pain lol
This is the definition of a work of art.Absolutely beautifull, flawless.
Nice one Jade, went to uni with this girl, shes a cool chick!
Bloody awesome tattoo and the girl was really nice too! Lots of respect for both her and the artist.
Loving Jade's flapper-punk bobcut, thumbs up
London Ink has by far, much more interesting pieces than any of the other "Ink" shows.
holly crap that only took 4 hours! thats one of the coolest phoenix pieces i've seen .
The tattooist works pretty fast for only having it done in 4 hours. Beautiful black and grey work though.
@Vivienne Bang , you're right. London Ink is by far the best of these shows though I do like NY Ink too. This phoenix piece is stunning.
its good to see a programme that shows the pain involved in getting tattooed! I think she did realy well, its a nice piece. I sat for 10 hrs on my back piece and its still not finished!
that is a truly amazing tattoo by one of the best tattoo artists in the world. wow
Incredible work. You're a real artist!
That's a beautiful tattoo - such intricate work. I felt Jade's pain but it was definitely worth it - wow!
i agree totaly,if someone is fast at line work, you hardly get used to it and they're all ready on a fresh area. The best thing about shading (depending on the design) is that the artist can be working on one area for a while, so that area will numb a little, which makes it bareable.
That's a gorgeous tattoo. I give her props, it hurts!
Absolutely amazing, wow!
The artist got the Phoenix upside down. In Phoenix rising the phoenix's head should be pointed up! Unless she intended the viewer to be looking from above her head while she is on all four, of course.
Totally worth it I gather! It looks terrific!! I'd be hella proud to wear that!!
Wow that is a sick effort for only 4 hours - she got a lot done im impressed
I got a back tattoo and I do not blame Jade for crying. It hurts like HELL!!!! Nikole did an amaaaazing work. Jade is also a badass for making it.
what a beautiful masterpiece! I Love to have the Phoenix tatoe on my back as well but I have to draw mine first between a atr piece like that and a tribal mixed together.

Gorgeous artwork!
SHIITTTTTT 4 hours for a back piece tht big in 1 session??? it is a nice piece,,, but i think they abit oversimply the design
That's what I was thinking.... It took 5 hours for me to do just a shoulder piece. How the heck did she managed to get that done in 4?
Was thinking that as well
4 hours is about right she didn't color the whole thing in so she didn't have to saturate it with color the bottom had some black not a lot n the top had pieces of color it wasn't completely colored in it would have been done in less time if she didn't have to keep stopping 3-3 1/2 hours is normal time for that since its not full color
goshhh!! this tatto is sooo beutifullll! luv it!
i want it too! *criying since now*
Wow that looks awesome well done to all :)
This tatoo is so beautiful!!!
you can do it...you want it ...go for it...you'll have an amazing piece of art with you always...plus you'll be proud of yourself for overcoming you fear..
OMG! It is sooooooo pretty. KUDOS to you for putting up with the pain!
wow, what a beautiful piece!
nikole did my sisters tattoos, these days its not easy to get her to do your tattoo, you have to write her a serious letter because she has so many clients. but she is stunningly talented
That is one hell of a work of art !!
Stunning !! ;-)
@MetalSnakesUK Thanks hun. Nice to see youre not one of the haters! amazing piece man, this is what's all about to be an artist, to bring emotion of joy to people !
Awesome, I love her work. clean and beautifully done. I hope to get my first tattoo soon. hehe
What a striking tattoo!
four hours is quite a short time to do a piece that big, I'd have thought an easy 6 or 7, not least because the artist needs breaks also!
Spent one whole summer getting my back piece done, and it freaking killed. Especially the sides...but so worth it!
both you and the tatoo look beautiful! wow I'm getting a tatoo too - but I want a heads up on what it feels like getting one...I heard that some areas hurt more than others and I just want so info since I feel a little lost.
A phoenix is like Rocky. It goes down and down, being all dramatic about it, but you still know that it'll keep coming back for more no matter what.
back tattoos really freaken hurt. I almost fainted when I got mine which took like 4 hours. I know her pain. the pain never dulls!
i think an outline of a major piece like that looks best, or of a complicated tat, the outline looks best
this is a great tattoo! the phoenix looks amazing! i have my arm booked, its a half sleeve with a phoenix and japanese samurai mask i only hope it turns out this good!!! only 4hrs work!
Amazing tatto!!! I have just five tatto and i need more!
@PlazaMoon: Why critisize someone for having a beautiful tattoo? This was her choice and it doesn't matter to anyone but her why she had it done. It obviously meant a great deal to her to do it, and 4 hours of inking is quite a feat, even although its a stunning piece of art.

Amazing piece of work. I think it would have looked even better in colour though.
i have a phoenix tattoo on my back too... i decided to havr a phoenix to celebrate my 21 bday. It was very painful... but now i dont usually look at it....and dont really bother to have a new tattoo
Gorgeous tattoo.
something can be put on the skin which numbs it however, it increases the risk of infection as the skin is not clean therefore they do not numb before tattooing
i miss this show!!
Wow, that is a beautiful image.
that's a beautiful piece!

Its me whose gettin the tattoo done - although i didnt post this video! it hurt like fuck, but its sooo worth it in the end. its like having a scaple ran down your back over and over again. Jayd Kent
yeah. my tattoo is smaller than that and just the first section was 3 hours.
Is there a reddy-maroony colour aswell as the black or is that just a skin reaction?
wow that is beautiful!!!! I would get that one when I am sure about getting phoenix. but I want to get lotus
These girl WIN !
i want to get a tattoo on my side below my ribs more into my stomach, any idea how sore that would be?
that is just gorgeous. shes a brave girl. i just had a three hour sitting for a thigh piece last week and near that three hour mark i was dying. another hour woul dhave been pure torture
beautiful tattoo, can imaginethe pain but she was very brave.
I find that breathing out when they do a line or something helped the most for me
how much would a tattoo like that cost to get done in london?
ah mines on my shin/calf its a snake and apple piece of work looks amazing i love it... but i thought the shin would hurt, but the calf was terrible worst ive had
haha your so right, i never noticed before
but for some reason im kinda proud of that...dunno why
great piece of work.
im 17 and i have a few piercings

problem is, i can never think of any design or roughly what i want done

that TAT is so SICK!!!!!!!!!!!
do u have one? i dont think ill get one. just on the basis like u said, they may look cool now but when im like 50 - 60 will it be cool then? and all thse people going ur body is a canvas... well how about go and buy a canvas (which you can change or throw away if you get bored of it!)
she's a really good tattooist!
But it looks absolutely f@#king gorgeous!
how long do they take on the upper arm and how do they hurt?
@herpsRus most parlors go by the hour. on average you're looking at $100-120 an hour. Color takes much longer than black and white.
Do they charge by the hour in this place and if so how much?
