Such an amazing comment deserves its very own dedicated video, but I'd just have so much to say about it that I'd probably end up going on a rambling loop for all of eternity! Really amazing comment though! 😂
The civil war in Britain was basically caused by a conflict between the king and the parliament. In other words, there WERE a parlament in Britain more than a hundred years before USA. For a short period Britain actually was a republic.
Keep it up man. I love to see new channels. Same as I love seeing new shops and restaurants in Europe, not those McDonald's, burger king's and f*cling Starbucks. You know, big business corporations are dull and just copy pasta.
When I was young and communism was still alive and kicking in eastern Europe, people from my country who had been travelling there, for instance going as tourists, used to complain when they were back home again about the uniformity in these countries, the lack of alternatives. Well, living in a world where McDonalds, Burger king and Starbucks has taken over everything, isn´t that a form of communism?
If there are any normal people around here, they're probably lost. Be very kind to them, make them a cuppa and look after them until their carers come and take them away.

I belong to a couple of atheist groups on Facebook, and these "no pronouns" and "logical fallacy" people keep showing up there, too. My list of blocked people is getting very long, because I'm past the point of being willing to indulge their BS.
I kind of agree, blocking is a solution... But I find that the current political climate of, let's face it, most countries in the western world at the moment, shows that we need web media that defends more centrist and leftwing views. Part of the reason for this video is to not give this demographic a monopoly over internet political commentary, because it's scary to me how one sided it has become. 👀
@@TheSebbyHour In a perfect world, civil debate would work and blocking wouldn't be a common thing. But for the sake of my mental health, blood pressure, and knowing that if someone pushes my buttons enough I'm liable to post a long, angry rant that isn't going to convince them at all that they're wrong, it's often easier to just block them. Patterns often emerge in situations like that, where one troll will come out, some people engage with them, and some others like me are only willing to give them a small part of our finite lifespan and end up blocking them. Then they seem to go away and another, with a different name but similar profile, attitude, and sometimes identical wording comes along. It's honestly not worth my time anymore to engage with accounts that for all I know could be bots. No productive conversation ever happens except among those of us who are refuting all the nonsense they spin.
Oh, I completely agree. I think arguing in comments has little to no value. That's why I answered theirs in video form. We have to start a Chill & Woke podcast one day 😂
Real democracies are significantly older than the USA. There are areas in Switzerland - and possibly in South Germany too - which had democratic procedures established in late medieval or early modern times already. In Switzerland such early democratic systems are existing in the Kantons of Uri, Schwyz, Unterwalden, Appenzell and Zug, partially in the Kanton of Grischun/Graubünden/Grisson too.
Only just found your channel; love it. I am a UK normal practicing Christian and totally agree with you about pronouns and the likely views of Jesus. Only point of difference is that I don't find the Bible boring.
I admit the "boring" comment was slightly provocative 😂 The bible has some very interesting stories in it, I just don't particularly like the way it's written but I guess it faces the challenge of having been translated many, MANY times over. Glad you enjoy my videos! 🫶
Hello, I'm your God, originally I was using preferred pronouns but my scribe refused to chisel them into the concept marble stome plates ... actually I don't know what else he's left out of the final script ...
Hi God, love your work! That's the problem I guess when you have to make a set of marble plates that translate into LITERALLY EVERY LANGUAGE... Pronouns vary based on what language you're using, so, it's a complex issue really...
At the risk of being obvious - you already know the content of your video (I love the concept of doing a video about the comments on your last video 🤣) What I found really interesting was watching the clock behind you. I imagine that makes me not normal.

To my understanding, Jesus would likely not actually have been white. He was Judean, which would be a lot more tan and have dark or even black hair (contrary to popular depictions of him). Pretty sure Jesus didn't speak English, that's a very funny quote 😂 Yeah, not sure Jesus's passport would let you travel very far in the modern world 👀 Glad you enjoy my videos! Demo(i)cracy (Demos Kratos). The term is derived from 'demoi' Greek words dêmos '(common) people' and krátos 'force/might'. (δῆμοι in original Ancient Greek, plural form of δῆμος or demos), meaning "peoples" and kratos (κράτος) meaning "power" (to govern oneself). If it looked like democracy, functioned as democracy, sounded like democracy and acted like democracy; then it probably was democracy.
And I love the idea of the US bragging about the perfection of its democracy when it's a basic first past the post system which imposes two main parties. 😂
@@TheSebbyHour US citizens that are residents of an Unincorporated Territory cannot vote in the presidential election. The USA is *NOT* a democracy, it only claims it is.
Latin (which was used for centuries in churches) also has plenty of pronouns. Going back even further, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koine Greek also have pronouns.
Who decides that they are not assigned to an identity? 🤔 Historically pronouns have always held weight. Like when you talk about someone in the third person despite them being next to you, that's widely accepted to be rude and unpleasant. Also, are you using the bible to insinuate that using the wrong pronouns is akin to calling evil good and vice versa? That's what it sounds like to me.

As I argued in the video (although only very briefly), as far as I'm concerned, every pronoun is a preferred pronoun. Language is a societal construct and any time we choose to use *any word* in *any language* we are essentially making a choice and denoting our preference for that word over another. Like I said in the video, if a man wants to use "he/him" as a pronoun, even though that is the "norm" it is *also* a preference... The fact that it is a normalised preference doesn't make it any less preferential, in my opinion. You may agree or disagree on this to your liking, but do you see what I mean?
