This is so sad to me. I lived in this house for 8 years before moving 25 years ago. Great memories with my neighbors, family gatherings in the backyard. Going bowling across the street at Garden State Bowling Alley. God Bless the families are affected by this fire.
Praying 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 “EVERYONE” INVOLVED is SAFE. Amazing to me to see all the different FIRE COMPANIES THAT COME TO ASSIST. MAY GOD ALWAYS BLESS ALL THE FIRE FIGHTERS & KEEP THEM SAFE. THANKING THEM FOR ALL THEY DO!!! 🙏🏻👍🏻💙
This video demonstrates why our department trains to deploy a spotter in coordination with nozzle placement and use. If all you're doing is tearing off shingles or watering the street from the back yard, the spotter will tell you to shut down and move to where you can do some good.
Watching those handlines the first couple minutes made me shake my head. Line placement is critical and hardly rocket science, yet soo often you see departments that do a horrible job of actually putting water on what is actually burning! The handline at the front of the house was often spraying water on the front of the house and the ridge vent, and not hitting any fire. When they tried hitting the roof, they were at a bad angle, and the stream just went over the house. The handline in the rear was doing the same, just shooting water right over the house! Why?? Why is this so hard to get right??
As just a viewer I wonder why in the early stages the windows were not broken out at the front of the house second floor. And start pumping water into it. I get that most of this footage shows the front when in fact most of the burning came from the rear but l know nothing and thanks for the video.
Handline training needed for sure. Exposure protection is what those lines should've been doing. They had no angle of the Fire at all to try attacking it.
Great job of saving the brick home next to it. Looks like it didn’t get any damage well obviously I’m not there to see but great job with the video. Stay safe and God bless you and the Firefighters!
Two things resonate here: your leadership HAS to crack down on the carelessly ignored pass alarms. It seems thar every video taken in NJ features the sound of discarded SCBA with their PASS alarms sounding. Secondly, when your choice of tactics shows little or no progress, it’s time to change tactics! Now there are a lot of factors affecting a decision to change tactics, but it should be tried.
These attic fires are murder. Few exposures; lots of things to burn if it is used for heavy storage; easy to spread from one end to the other. Rarely an easy job unless FD is able to arrive quickly.
Our neighbors had a grease fire 🔥 accept some one threw flour onto the fire which increased the fire whole house is done. Whole section of roof gone. If anyone has a grease fire put lid on the fire never ever water or flour. Unless you want to end up like a lot of these videos. They may have tried tossing the lit grease which spread to the rest of the house. I’m sure this house isn’t salvage able. Keep a fire extinguisher handy and change your smoke alarm battery and have a carbon monoxide detector.
See how them old buildings will burn just like a matchstick our government needs to tell people on these old houses to rip them down and rebuild and they won't burn so quick
If you knew how cheaply new construction is done and how flimsy the houses are, you wouldn’t say that. New houses are a death trap for firefighters because the roof systems are so flimsy.
Things must be different in New Jersey from when I lived there in the 1980s. Houses were easy to sell, they were just hard to pay for because of the prices. In Texas, you can have several bids within 24 hours of being listed. Even in 2016, I sold a house on the first day. I paid $126k for it in 2010, and sold it for $175k. Now it is valued at almost $300k. It is 1474 square feet and houses that “small” are nearly impossible to find. When you sell a house, you don’t lose every possession you have including irreplaceable ones. Fire is a really BAD choice to make a profit from. Do journey homework. Some people seem to think arson is an easy crime to get away with. Set it on fire, file a claim, and get a check. It NEVER works out like that.
What a complete joke ! This really isn't a real structure fire, I mean it's a training fire right ? There's no way you go into a complete defensive mode from the beginning of this fire, and even with 5 water streams and not a single one hitting the seat of the fire ? They can't possibly be this incompetent, and what the hell is there a platform a block away for ? Oh it's because they can flow so much water and make a rainbow but can't put out the fire and NOT only can they Not put the fire out but they CAN'T even protect the surrounding structures. That's PATHETIC !!!

Sorry to hear that!
Thank you and God bless those brave fire fighters that risk their lives everyday to save lives and properties .
What’s the address to the home? It looks familiar to me.
@@demonracer2 How long did it take to put this monster out

Tough fire under rough conditions, great job catching and sharing, Thank you and be safe
Thanks, you too!
This fire did not want to be extinguished!!
Yup, sometimes the fire just takes hold, like an eagle with lunch, and simply will not let go!

Omg something was feeding that fire. No matter how much water it would not go out. Wow

Same to you!
What a nightmare, must have been all brick, started in attic, gone in walls, everything..
The bottom is brick the top is wood

They don't ignore the alarms, the alarms make them feel cool. "Look at me, I'm a fire man." The second part is right on.
Was it me or was the water pressure not that good
Can the home be repaired or is it a loss? Did everyone make it out OK?
Excellent video! That one was really cookin'! Do you know how much damage there was on the other house? Stay safe out there!
Thank you! and both exposures were minimally damaged. there was some fire in the cockloft of the bravo exposure but that was quickly knocked down
Stubborn fire for sure. Saving the neighboring houses took a lot of water, too.
Get er done
For sure
Has anyone else noticed that there are a lot of fire's lately. What is going on.
yes...for many months now..
It's easier than selling
Where was IFD Ladder 42??
What a coincidence that my niece lived there she's fine but lost everything and a friend of mine owns the house!!!
a tip: watch movies at instaflixxer. Been using them for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Arian Genesis yup, been using instaflixxer for years myself =)
Armchair Firemen! It's a new band and all their songs are just complaining! 😆😎🚒🌊

This fire was well advanced on the arrival of FD
That bird is so annoying
That is so ugly Smoke pouring of out....what a shame...More water was needed on the Flames..not the Smoke!....
House is completely wiped out. Total loss.
That house next to it definitely got some serious smoke damage. Luckily that seems to be all it was.
Yes they were able to keep the Delta exposure safe from fire

Mansard roofs are the worst!
Looked like this was primarily a surround and drown.
did they call scuba team for interior attack ?
What's a scuba team
scuba stands for Self Contained Unwater Breathing Apparatus

so sad the water canon it to small they need a bigger one

How often do you get hate comments
I do get them from time to time, for some reason I get an unfair amount of dislikes on my videos

I've seen way better firefighting from volunteer departments without any ladder trucks or platforms, this departments ISO rating has to SUCK ?
All that and the house still burned down...Horrible job by paid fire dept.
Well from what I see a lot of water wasted so hopefully there is no drought there.
