That is great to hear!!!! I'm so happy for you! I'm glad you shared your experience so that people can see that not everyone's experience is the same and that there are many people that have positive and quick recoveries! I'm glad you found a lifestyle that works for you! 🤗
I’m experiencing the same things! Well i been since being in the implanon it’s been 6 years and I finally got it out today!! But I’m actually trying for another baby. I hope I can see some changes myself before getting pregnant.
Girl thank you for you comment because my weight gain has been real since I got this Nexplanon and I’m hoping once I take it out and continue to work out it will go down
I got mine taken out 2 days ago. I only had my nexplanon for a 1 1/2 years and honestly it was the worst, I gained a lot of weight and I had become severely depressed to the point where all I wanted to do is lay in bed and sleep.
I’ve gained like 30 pounds . Made my anxiety 10x worse and it’s hard for me to lose weight ! I’m getting mines taken out in January and I’m super excited . No more birth control I can’t take it anymore, just going to practice safe sex and tracking my ovulation and my fertile days . It’s a lot of work but birth control is leaving a negative effect on my body
I’m sorry! I’m glad you recognized the problem quickly though. Agreeed BC does the most and my body can’t handle it. My friend does the fertility awareness method and LOVES it! I hope it goes well for you!
Getting mine removed this week! I had it 5 months and I’ve gained 33 pounds, I’m constantly feeling depressed, unmotivated, and the bleeding is ridiculous. I cannot wait to get back to myself
Hello dear. I’m sorry about u having to remove the bandage. I wish your discharge instructions included directions on not getting it super wet while showering so that the bandage would stay dry and peel off on its own over a few days. But I’m sooooooo glad u kept an eye on it and cleaned it up b4 it got infected. Keep up the wonderful channel, it’s so great to see kind vibes like yours from ppl on the internet.
Get mines taken out soon I gained so much weight now I’m overweight when I first got it I was super small now I’m depressed and taking medicine for anxiety I never had anxiety before my doctors told me to get it out really fast for I can join the gym and lose weight I’m so scared 😱
Baddie Bby I’m sorry! I definitely experienced increased anxiety and weight gain as a result of mine too! I hope it gets better after you take it out! 🙏🏽🤗
Im getting mines removed tomorrow morning and honestly I’m so exited to get it taken out I gained so much weight literally a month after I had it on I was 130 and now I’m 240 it like really messed up with my depression. I’m getting it taken out because I also noticed my feelings weren’t the same like at one time I would be happy and then out of the no where I’m so mad I would hurt somebody. Birth control definitely has its own way to mess with people 😕
oh wow - I got stitches after getting my Nexplanon replaced but even for the Insertion Process I got strips and was advised to put a waterproof plaster over it for week....
I got mine taken out 4 days ago. What I can say is that it is definitely anti-baby!! But I did gain lots of weight 50lbs my first year. I became very depressed the second year. By my 3rd year I started to loose a few lbs because I worked out to deal with the depression…. But I feel like I got some type of nerve damage from The removal. I keep getting a tugging feeling on my muscles. It comes and goes to different parts of my arm but not the actual incision site
@@lilywaah101 How long ago was the removal bc LET ME TELL YOU your body might go through some CRAZY/GROSS reactions. My reactions hit 2/3weeks after removal.

Heyyy, I just got mine out today after 3 years of having it in. I’ve had similar moods as you , I’ve also taken it out on my boyfriend . The big problem that I’ve had is that I’ve gained 100 pounds in the 3 years . I was 150 now I’m 250, that has made me not wanna go out anymore or go to the gym. Hopefully now that it’s out that I can be more confident and lose this weight. The only good thing is that I didn’t have a period. Thank you for talking about your experience ! Really helped me to understand that I’m not the only one
This almost happened to me too! Is your implant on the inner part of your arm or under where your bicep is? I was told they are not even placed on the inner part of your arm because there is such difficulty in removing them. That is where mine was.
Hey! I'm sorry to hear you're having sharp pain. My first instinct is that you need to inform your doctor. My second piece of advice is to make sure you are "babying" your arm. Even though it's a tiny device and it was "easy" to remove, it still needs time to heal, especially if your removal process was rough. Is the pain constant or periodic?

Showering with it on caused it to absorb water and smell. So, to keep my wound dry, I replaced the bandages after every shower and it healed just fine.🤗

@@haileychanelle I would keep my arm up and out of the water like away from the shower head lol and I never thought to use a plastic wrap....that's actually smart!
I changed the bandages after every shower for the next couple of days, to make sure it stayed clean and dry, and then left the bandages off after that. It healed much faster after I left the bandages off because it was able to dry out. 🤷🏽♀️
Whend you take the steri strips off at first? I was told to leave the dressing on for 24 hours and keep it dry and then that I could shower and remove the steri strips after 3-5 days, I just got mine removed yesterday
This is when I took the steri strips off, 4 days after I had the implant removed. I didn’t shower for the first day because she told me not to but she said after that I should be able to shower. The advice was to try and keep it as dry as possible. Definitely try n seal the area with plastic and tape to keep it from getting wet in the shower so your steri strips last longer. They give you a numbing shot for both insertion and removal and thats the only thing that causes "pain" but its just a little pinch. You shouldnt feel anything after that, aside from some pressure, but thats all.
Agreed, the lidocaine they use is the “burn” feeling you will get but that only lasts for a few seconds and it keeps you from feeling anything else. For insertion my NP used an “insertion gun” it kind of reminded me of a longer version of the ear piercing gun. It’s prepackaged so it’s sterile and cannot be reused. The insertion took less than 3 minutes. My arm felt fine and I had no complications. It is very important that whoever is inserting it knows what they are doing so they insert it in the correct place. Unfortunately I don’t have a video on that but I do have a video on getting mine taken out. I wasn’t in pain. I did feel pressure and it was a bit uncomfortable but definitely tolerable. The removal process often depends on how your body heals around the BC, if it is where it is supposed to be, and how long you’ve had it in. Everyone’s removal process is different but most can be done in the office.
Just keep it as dry and clean as possible. Ask for extra bandages just in case you need to change it. Keep the original bandages on for as long as possible. If it starts to smell like mine did, just remove the bandage, gently clean it, and place a new bandage.I hope your removal goes well! 🙏🏽🤗

From what I understand, the time it takes to heal can vary on a few things.
1) how long your body normally takes to heal from cuts, injuries, etc.
2) how the removal procedure went (rough, easy, more invasive, less invasive, if it had to be surgically removed).

Just keep it as dry and clean as possible. Ask for extra bandages just in case you need to change it. Keep the original bandages on for as long as possible. If it starts to smell like mine did, just remove the bandage, gently clean it, and place a new bandage.I hope your removal goes well! 🙏🏽🤗
