    For the past two years I kept blaming myself for my mood and anxiety , I tried eating healthier and becoming more active and nothing helped . It finally hit me that I needed to remove the nexplanon ! The smallest things make me so angry and depressed , I’m removing in two weeks so I cannot wait to feel myself again .

    I just got mine removed yesterday. The only positive of nexplanon was that I didn’t get pregnant. From the time I got it I’ve gotten random headaches, backaches, nausea, depression and my anxiety got so much worse. On top of that my periods were random and lasted between 3-6 weeks every time. I really hope I can feel normal again soon

      I agree, the pregnancy prevention does its job wonderfully. However, my Nexplanon has caused my periods to become horrible. Before birth control, my periods only lasted 3-5 days. Now they last 2-3 weeks usually. 😭 Thankfully I'm getting mine removed today.

    I had every side effect from the nexplanon, stiffness, anxiety, weight gain, bloating, insomnia, indigestion, blank moments, joint pain, thinning of my skin and my bones creaking, i could hear my internal organs, even the sound of my spin creaking, i feel heat always and so uncomfortable, my cellulite became so bad, bumpy skin. I cried always as i never even thought it was the nexplanon . I Complained to my doctor, he sent me for a scan for my spin, colon testing, heart scan, blood test and all test came back okay. I still kept on complaining he sent me to mental health where i was prescribed an anti-depressants tablet. I didnt take it as i know i wasnt depressed. Everything irritated me and i got angry for no reason My blood pressure was up, cant explain what triggered it.. Finally after 3 years i took it out and like a miracle that night i slept like a baby( Insomnia dissapear), within a week i had loads of changes within me like gush of cool breeze, my head fog was clear, my bloating disappear, i couldn't hear the sound of my organs no more and no more pain in my body, it's a month now, i can do situps, i can dance without pains, my bloating is gone, my weight is gone down and am still working on it. My bood pressure from 154/102 all gone down to 120/88. I feel alive. Told my doctor and he said i should try another contraception. I told him i will think about it. That thing could have killed me. So glad i took it off.

    Thank you for these videos… gosh nexplanon sounds so great on paper.. but it’s literally too good to be true. I had mine for a little over 2 years. My biggest complaint was nauseousness (especially if I dared to go a few hours between meals 🥴) NO sex drive whatsoever, and massive WEIGHT GAIN (close to 60+ lbs) likely due to overeating because as I said I would get extremely nauseous if I didn’t eat constantly!! I’m getting mine out today and I feel like I should have made this decision a long time ago. But I’m so relieved.

    I just got mine removed today after having one nexplanon replacement over the past 5 years. Both times I had a horror story for the removal. First time my muscle latched around it and it broke in half during the removal so they were digging in my arm for 20+ minutes. I may add that they didn't put the lidocaine in the correct location so I felt everything. Today's removal my new OBGYN inserted lidocaine everywhere possible to avoid what happened with my old doctor. My muscle was latched around it again so they had to cut my muscle but it was only around 15 minutes and didn't feel a thing. I am so happy to have it out! I have PCOS as well and my OBGYN recommended the patch since it may help balance out my hormones from my PCOS. Watching your video gave me hope about going back to my old happy self (assuming the patch won't have as bad of side effects)!

    Hiya, ive left so many comments here sorry!
    I just want to thank you so much. Without your story and this comments thread i would be still so anxious. I saw like 3 or 4 doctors in my struggles. Not even one of them mentioned hormonal imbalance or the fact that my moods MIGHT be caused by my birth control. Literally relying on other women who had the same thing happen to them to get me through. God bless you!
    Almost K'ed myself. Severe anxiety, low appetite, imsomnia, INTRUsIVE thoughts ... All reduced by 70% or completely disappeared since taking out the implant.
    Also im high functioning autistic so that might have added to the severety of everything.

      Hi Sharon!
      I’m so glad this video and the thread has been helpful to you. Unfortunately, I know exactly what you mean about doctors not even acknowledging the fact that BC can cause a major hormonal imbalance. I’m currently pregnant but after this baby I will be seeing a holistic doctor to help with my hormones as traditional medicine doesn’t help at all. I’ll be praying that you find peace and your hormones settle completely because it is so unfair that we have to research so much when we have been trained to trust people with degrees who don’t help at all since they are taught to prescribe not to treat. 😓

I finally got health insurance good enough to go back to the doctor and demanded a blood test, in which case they found out I had insulin resistant PCOS. It is very common, and the implant didnt necessarily cause my bleeding, but it pushed my hormones over the edge and made my body "inflammed". I recommend getting checked for other things because PCOS is extremely common. I hope this helped 👍

    I have had a total of 3 weeks this entire year without bleeding. Its been gettng heavier lately with clots (one of the reasons I got it in the first place). I have adenomyosis and suffer from heavy periods that forced me to receive blood transfusions and iron infusions for the previous 4-6 years. It sucks because these past 2 years I have not needed those things, but everything else has been terrible. I went from 186 to 220 in 2 years. I have managed to drop down to 212 after 3 months of diet and exercise and monitoring blood sugar with a CGM... I eat once a day and i have only lost that much, but one day I will be 117, 2 days later 209. I get mine taken out tomorrow and I look forward to being a normal weight again. My breasts have judt gotten so big and nothing fits (jackets, shirts, bras). Glad to hesr so many people had positive experiences when they take it out.

    I have an appointment today, hopefully the dr will remove. I've had it in for a year and through process of elimination have concluded Nexplanon the culprit behind the chaos. I've seen many doctors and specialists and not one considered the birth control but were quick to prescribe anti depressants. I really hope my gyno doesn't try to talk me out of removal or make me wait cause I'm done with this mess.

    getting my Nexplanon removed tomorrow at the (almost) 3 year mark. i have gained 60lbs, my sex drive is so low it’s been a year since we’ve done anything, and my anxiety and depression have been absolutely horrible. for the entire 1st year i didn’t have a period, then at the 1 year mark i had a 45 day period. ever since then i have just continuously bled and bled. i typically bleed for about 25 days with a 2 week break. at the 1.5 year mark my doctor put me on estrogen pills (Estradiol 6.25mg) and that helped a lot-my uterine lining had become so thin from constantly bleeding for 6 months that she was actually concerned i may internally bleed to death. the estrogen helped reduce my bleeding from severe to medium but didn’t shorten the length of time. i took it for a year and a couple months ago (2.5yr mark) my insurance decided i don’t NEED these pills so they’re not covering them ($30 with insurance, $205 without for 30 day supply). so after going back to bleeding nonstop and approaching the 3 year mark, i’m ready to get this thing out of my arm. i’m very nervous about having it taken out. my anxiety over the last 2 years has made me terrified of so many things that didn’t use to scare me. thank you for sharing your experience, it gives me hope for how my future may change

    • @spoopy891
      @spoopy891 2 года назад +4

      January update: i had my Nexplanon removed in mid November at the 2 years 11 months mark. my implant was stuck deep in my arm and it did have to be dug out and i did have a dime sized hole in my arm that they didn’t stitch. it was pretty gross, not gonna lie. now i have a ball of scar tissue under my skin that is about the size of a large pea and a slightly larger big pink scar. it’s been slowly shrinking though. there may be some minor nerve damage though because that area of my arm will go numb or get sharp shooting pains sometimes if i put my arm or elbow down the wrong way.
      changes:
      within 5 days my sex drive returned. it’s insane. i didn’t have any menstrual bleeding until this week and it only lasted 4 days. i haven’t had a cycle that short in 2 years. it was painful cramping and heavy bleeding for the first 2 days and a heating pad and midol were my best friend, but other than that it was the easiest period i have had in what felt like a really long time. we are abstaining from sex for a while longer (once you’ve gone 15 months, what’s a few more? haha) and i am staying off birth control for a while to see if my hormones will regulate themselves for on their own. so far i am feeling much happier and my depression and anxiety is less as well.

    I got mine inserted August 2023 and I don’t have much negative symptoms. I do have low sex drive and weight gain. But this happened after I got the depo shot. But the nexoplanon has caused me to have bad arm pain ever since insertion. So I made an appointment today to get it removed.
    Sadly, I have migraines w/ aura so I have to be on progestin only forms. I think I’m going to do the progestin pill. I’ve tried so many forms and I’m tired of side effects.

    • @KaysonMayhew

      I am on the progestin only pill now and on month two. After removal, my sex drive came back after being off it for a month. Migraines got worse. I’m at the same weight but a decreased normal appetite so I can tell weight loss is coming.
      During removal, they told me the first person inserted it incorrectly which is probably why I had arm pain. I still have the pain sometimes so I’m concerned it’s nerve damage but only time will tell. It isn’t as painful as it was when I had it though.

    Honestly, I’m praying to God that he gives me some weight to gain. I’ve always been naturally full ever since puberty, and this birth control really made me look underweight in the span of 4 years on it, and I didn’t realize how much that implant changed me. I went from 120 lb (before birth control) down to 112, then back up to 122 (from working out and eating more), back down to 119 (I had surgery so I lost weight again). That implant was such a rollercoaster and I’m never going back on it. It’s too much trouble. I’d rather maintain my purity, it’s easier this way IMO.

I am just scared to take it out because I’ve had it since I was 14/15 & will be 25 next month. All I know is this drug in my arm. My skin is extremely clear and I’m scared I will suffer with acne if removed. The nexplanon did not stop my periods, my periods are very irregular & moderate to moderately heavy, and my cramps are awful. However, It has kept me very safe when sexually active and I have never been pregnant or had a pregnancy scare in my life.

I'm glad I got it taken out a month ago due to trying for baby #5 . I'll probably go another route with birthcontrol next time.

    I had mine for about 2.5 years and just got it removed almost 2 weeks ago now. I have had issues with nonstop periods, mood swings, and I am now within the last 6 months experiencing the WORST cystic acne of my life. Did you have any issues with acne while on it if so how long did it take for yours to clear itself up or you to start to see relief?

    • @MamaTried

      Oh girl, the cystic acne is REAL. I did have a major issue with it when I had it and I'm still having issues.. It's not as severe now but I have a lot of acne discoloration and scarring from it. I eventually want to have a chemical peel treatment done to help with it.

Being able to correlate all the cystic acne, low libido, the foggy crazy brain feeling & so much more to one common factor.. is just so relieving and yet so daunting.. as this is my 7th year using nexplanon it’s sad to think about what we do to ourselves so unknowingly..

    Anyone ever experienced boob pain while on the nexplanon? I have been using it going on 6 years now and I wonder if that is what's causing this pain. I go only about a week after I get my period and the pain is constant until my next period. The first few years I did not experience this at all but as I mentioned here lately it's just all the time. Only after my period does the pain go away. For 1 week.

    I’ll be getting mine removed next week after being on it for 3 years. So if anyone who sees this comment in the future is considering it, ask away and I can update you on my experience!
    I’ve been on contraception overall for about 6 years so I’ll be interested to see how different I feel. My periods have been all over the place, sometimes I would have 2 days off and be on again, other times I’d have a whole month off. Coming towards the end of my implant, my mental health has probably been the worst I’ve experienced. I can only hope coming off contraception will benefit me, mainly emotionally as that has been most difficult.

    • @jesshobs
      @jesshobs 3 года назад +2

      @@vanessabarber5949 hello :) I absolutely recommend. The actual process of the removal was super easy as you don’t feel anything, it heals within a week or so and leaves a small scar. Since then, I feel a lot more in control of my emotions - not that I was an overly emotional person, but I just feel a lot happier and more myself. In terms of periods, they used to be all over the place. I had my nexplanon removed September 15th and have had 2 periods in the correct amount of time. In all honestly, I wasn’t expecting my body to adjust so quickly especially being on different contraceptions for 6 years. A couple of my friends said it took a few months for their period to readjust so I wouldn’t worry too much if that’s the case. I hope that covers everything but if you want to know anything else just ask! But yes! Feels so much better to have my body’s natural hormones!
