Im 23 and just getting into fishing but my dad hasn't ever been around to teach me these things. You're channel has really helped me become more confident as I fish and I hope one day I can share the knowledge you taught me with my daughter. Thank you for that Gene.
For those looking at those cheap chinese amazon/wish swim baits as a way to get into swim bait fishing without big expense, I'd like to steer you over to Academy Sports house brand H2O Express swim baits instead. Three styles (minnow/trout, shad and sunfish), multitude of colors, at $6-7 a bait and they work.
I’ve been watching your channel for about 2 weeks now because even though I’ve been fishing since I was a kid, I have never purposely caught bass. I fish for crappie and catfish mostly... I have a brothers-in-law who is a bass angler. He has told me a bit about it and I have started getting interested in how to do it properly. You have very informative advice and I have picked up on some of the things I need to know from you. Thank you for what you do, I look forward to seeing and learning more from you!
hey Flukemaster, I don't know if u will read this, but im the kid that you gave that smallest lure to, and it works awesome I really like it aand thanks a lot ur awesome!!!
Really enjoying your channel. Just recently got into really learning to fish. Usually spent my time watching my pole and waiting for a catfish to bite. Caught my first hybrid about a month ago and it was so much more exciting. Learning quite a bit from your “beginner” videos. Thanks.
Gene ! Awesome video sir, im learning these swimbaits and wanted to know more about those jointed swimbaits! Your video uploads always on time!! Stay safe and great work! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thanks for this great video. There aren’t many out there about Buccas amazing baits. I own the 6 inch bull gill and that thing is amazing. I haven’t a caught a big one on it yet but I stay confident throwing it
Thank you Gene for teaching me how to fish. It started 2 years ago with your beginner fishing tackle video and still learning to this day. Thank you for all you do to teach the world to fish
Hey Gene nothing really to do with this current video but I work at Sportsman's Warehouse in Prescott Arizona in the camping and fishing department and many times I've had customers come up to me because I'm the one that everybody in the store sends to for fishing help. Most of the time I can help them out just fine and even some of the more advanced situations. But a lot of times I see a puzzled look on their face because I'm explaining things without actually doing it with them. So guess what I do next. I asked them if they have any internet and if they watch RUclips videos at all and most of them do already some have never been on RUclips. But I tell them to go onto RUclips and look up flukemaster because of all the different videos that you have out on the different styles of fishing. I have no idea if these people actually go on or not or if they subscribe if they do but I just wanted to let you know that you are my go-to resource for fishing videos for these folks. I have had a couple recently that have come back and said they watched your video on using a baitcaster or setting up a baitcaster and thanked me. So going around the barn with this post I just wanted to thank you for being the resource that you are.
Gene I'm going to be buying the 13 fishing concept a3 gen 2 which rod should I pare with it going to be catching red fish and flipping into heavy cover for big bass defy black 8' heavy or extra heavy thanks for your great channel
I have enjoyed your video's I have used them to improve my fishing and it really works. I have caught more fish and better quality since viewing your channel. I would like to see demo's of lures for an example a jig and pig action( underwater view). But I do want to say thanks for all your expertise. It has made me a better angler.
Thanks for the continued awesome, helpful vids gene! I appreciate all the content. I'm learning so much from your videos as a new angler🤙🏽 mahalo from Washington!
Awsome vidoe bud !!! U answered my question about y I had 2 cheap over sea swim baits wit alot of joints in them and they never swim right I hated em thought I just got to bad 1s thank god I watched ur vidoe cuz now I know which 1s to buy ... when I fished em they alwayz layed on there side like a dead floating fish mybe that would work in some places but I never had luck! thanks again for all the great vidoes u put out and live streams were u always answer people's? Ur the best!!!
Thanks for the great info. Watching you videos is certainly a great refresher course. I have been away from bass fishing for about 30 years and am amazed at how specialized the equipment has become. I am watching your complete library of tips and advice. 👍👍👍
@@English_MoFo if the line has any sudden stops as your casting, it will cause a lot of instant force on the line and snap at the weakest point, typically the knot. The reason mono or flouro is preferred is because the line will actually stretch.
This is great info because I'm out there like a gorilla at a prom with the baby bull shad trying to figure them out and I've actually been trying your suggestions but want sure if it was working, why?... Because I have yet to catch one on them lol thanks for the tips hopefully I'll hook into a good one tomorrow morning!
Hey Fluke another great video, really appreciate it. Did I miss the link to the lure retriever? I looked and didn't see it or I don't know what I'm looking for. Thanks again for the channel and content!
I use to hate braid on swimbaits. After designing some 8" swimbaits myself, my reels weren't big enough for them so I went back to braid. I found that instead of adjusting the reel to fish the smaller baits, you adjust it to almost newbie settings. I've casted over 200 times since and haven't once gotten a backlash nor lost my prototypes. Good videos as always!
What makes these baits different than the jointed plugs that have been around for ages? Or is it that they're just gaining popularity again? Surf casters have long used lures like this for stripers successfully. Biggest striper I ever caught in the surf was on a 10 inch jointed wood plug, actually. Big lures are a lot of fun, that's for sure!
Braid to leader... 80lb braid minimum 20 minimum mono/flouro , I use 100lb pp maxcuatro and 25lb big game mono for my biggest baits , using the fg knot I've never had a cast off regardless of bait weight Is it overkill? Yes... Absolutely but I don't like buying deps 250s , gancraft 303s , Hinkle's more than I have to so if Peace of mind and overkill is what it takes so be it
I'm kinda new to your channel but I love the content and the beginners advice, but my one problem is ur hat! It all most the right shade of red maybe a tad darker, like Crimson maybe, and instead of that G maybe a nice Cursive A! Just saying! Lol. Keep up the great content, and since I'm just a state away, maybe we can wet a hook together one day.
ICYAngler Slim pickings around me currently. Lot of local shops don’t carry them unfortunately. I’ll be happy to take some of those from where you’re at if you want to seed them my way! Haha

I agree. I have caught fish on every H20x lure I have bought.
Got out of fishing for a bit and now I’m back. Of course your video is in my feed lmao, nice to see an old familiar face. Hope all is well!

Look at Flukemaster, the first fishing youtuber that I ever watched stepping up his game with the videos!
Love watching your vids, I have learned so much from your channel. Thank you so much for posting these.
Another solid video to help every angler out there get better!

The Sebile swimbaits are still available on Amazon.
Will braid to leader work or straight flouro the best?

I lost a few smaller swimbaits under 2oz on 30lb braid. I now throw 5oz+ on 25lb mono with no issues.
How are you losing the on braid? Is it a knot problem
@@English_MoFo if the line has any sudden stops as your casting, it will cause a lot of instant force on the line and snap at the weakest point, typically the knot. The reason mono or flouro is preferred is because the line will actually stretch.
@@deadeyedarren yep okay 👍 I figured it was a knot problem. I had to search youtube braid knot tying for that exact reason. Thanks
@@English_MoFo the palomar does me well 👍

I've had that sebile swim bait in my tackle box for a looong time and I've never thrown it...might try it.
Hey Gene love your vids. Driving up to hampton, georgia on Monday for a week and would like to know any good spots for bass
I"m not sure, Check the Georgia DNR website
D.B.F Outdoors I’m from that area. Where did you fish while you were here?
Your wearing a Dog hat so had to subscribe! Thanks for the info!
Hey Fluke another great video, really appreciate it. Did I miss the link to the lure retriever? I looked and didn't see it or I don't know what I'm looking for. Thanks again for the channel and content!
Nope. You didn't miss it. I forgot to put it in there. It's called the Tipton's Golden Retriever.

Only question i have is when/where do you fish them?
Gene the glide fluke is made by IMA
You are correct. Thanks man.
so im thinking of buying a pelican 10E bass raider, anyone got a good recommendation for a trolling motor to go along with it??

Those don’t swim. These swim like a actual fish.
@@aaronhiggs exactly
Any special knot to tie for the baby bullshad?
Nope
What lure retriever do you recommend?
The Tipton's Golden Retriever.
Thanks for the vid, great stuff!👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Super Video 😉🤙
Did I see your van at Kroger yesterday, or the day before, idk I forgot which day it was
Yep. I was grocery shopping.
Lol
you forgot to put the link for the lure retrieval you use and recommend
Sorry man, I just fixed it.

I thought you said wake and bake but I think you said wake and bait lol...'cause the previous mean something means where I'm from ha ha
Don’t talk too much about that S Waver, they’re already hard enough to get! 😂
really? Where I'm at, we got all models in all colors possible hanging on the shelves.
Yeah S-wavers are one of the easier baits to get. Try getting a Hinkle Shad or Roman Made Negotiator or anything Pizz.
ICYAngler Slim pickings around me currently. Lot of local shops don’t carry them unfortunately. I’ll be happy to take some of those from where you’re at if you want to seed them my way! Haha
Tackle Warehouse usually has plenty.
Why bother? What's the advantage to using hard swim baits versus, say, soft swimbaits ?
Who else heard: "Most of my swimbaits are bullshit."
