1:08 is incorrect. Splatoon does have a manga but the gear is not from that. The gear is actually from a manga series called Squid Girl that began in 2007 and had an anime in 2010.

To help with any confusion: For agent 3, the original agent 3 from the first game is now the new leader of the squidbeak splatoon cause captain cuttlefish retired, you play as the new agent 3.

02:10 I think Pearl and Marina’s names are supposed to be based on treasure or precious stones you might find in the ocean or on a beach Pearl is obviously pearls and Marina could be a reference to aquamarine, as that’s also her main colour and she also has a belly piercing. A lot of these “facts” feel pointless or talk about the same stuff in the ones before or after them. I would much rather have 70 good facts than 100 mediocre ones :/

that's because in splatoon 3, agent 3 from the first game became the captian of the (new) squidbeak splatoon and is now referred to as 'captian.'
agent 3 in splatoon 3 is the new agent 3. they are canonically an inkling. people refer to them as neo agent 3 sometimes (not in splatoon itself but whatever)

The Pearl Harbor reference is true. A marina is a type of harbor, therefore the names are translated to "Pearl Harbor."
Edit: Also, Shiver and Frye continue this, as a shiver is a group of sharks, and Shiver uses a shark to fight you during Return of the Mammalians, and a frye is a group of eels, and Frye uses eels to battle you.
Edit #2: The gear randomization sound effect is the GameCube startup effect, true, but it is in a different key.
