    *Perfect and I’ve used it for ballon arches as **enjoyable.fishing** recommend well as other decor with parties. It is strong and will hold up well. It works so good that another decorator stole my roll at an event!*

    How do you actually get the fabric on to the waist band? Could you make a video part 2? That would be awesome!!!!! Please make

    Excellent video! Thanks so much for uploading!
    Just a quick little addition, one way to stop having excess fabric when doing a rolled hem on a circular shape is to first go around the edge (very close to the edge) with a straight stitch. This will act a bit like a stabilizer :)

    I know it has been a long g time since this video was posted, but I thought that I would offer a tip. if you use a thread sleeve around your fishing line spool you don't have to worry about unraveling and tangling.

      Brenda, how do we use a "thread sleeve?" Thanks for the tip, and this is an excellent video. Appreciate both.

    Hi, can you do this with cotton fabric to make the curly hem with fishing line or does it have to be a light weight fabric or can you use a heavier pound of fishing line for cotton fabric? Thank you so much! Really enjoyed your video! So very helpful! :)

Now I know how to get the hem right and use this foot I was having a problem figuring out. Thank you so much!!!

    Thanks for the tutorial! I'm a seamstress, and have done a couple of these hems, but I like your technique better. :) I'll share a suggestion for going over seams with a rolled hem foot: trim about 1/4 inch out of your seam allowance. You'll want to trim very close to the seam, then trim across your seam allowance, cutting out a little rectangle of fabric from your seam allowance. You'll need to prep the seam allowance by stitching a few inches at the bottom of the hem with a short stitch to prevent it from opening up, but I find it makes it feed into the machine really nicely. Also, I seldom back-stitch on sheer/lightweight fabrics because they tend to warp. I like to use a short stitch length when starting/finishing instead. Thanks again for taking the time to share your technique!

    • @brendastuntz1727
      @brendastuntz1727 7 лет назад +3

      I don't usually use my rolled hem foot, just because I prefer to do all of my rolled hems on the serger, but I would like to add that using wooly nylon thread will give a fuller coverage hem; which is nice when you want to accent with a different color thread (especially on a serger)... I have found that if my fabric tries to pull apart it helps to use a little water soluble stabilizer.
