This video is exactly what I was looking for. I'm gonna have to pass on this collection for a number of reasons though. Very informative video. Thanks! Subbed.
Maybe someday we will; that would be great! I would love a set that has just the feature films they did with Healy. Some of those have still never been released to home media at all.
I had high hopes for this Blu-ray releases, but it's already ruined over how it tosses out remakes and shorts that had politically incorrectness for its time, but leaving them out is like pretending they didn't exist. Not only that, but it's part of the Stooges' history and it's bittersweet.
Indeed! It is absolutely part of their history, no denying it. I'm surprised they didn't put some of the un-PC shorts on there and add disclaimers to them. But as long as the shorts in new releases aren't censored then I guess it doesn't bother me too much. I'm fine without Uncivil War Birds or Back to the Woods on Blu-ray. The remakes would be appreciated, but I get why they were not included. Older home media releases tended to bypass them as well.
@@betamaxblocker I'm glad you see where I'm coming from. One day, they'll learn how fans die-hard fans feel and learn from Warner Bros./Warner Archive to not ignore those offensive shorts. Until then, I wouldn't buy this incomplete set, no matter what.
Hey Betamax! That looks like a mighty thorough Stooges box set! Good to see you received one since they are a little tough to come by presently. Hey on the topic of sound chips, good to see your sound chip works. When I got my 66 Batman set the 'na na na na na' tune never worked. Ha ha, oh well. Take care man!
That's terrible that the Batman soundchip didn't work! That would be a fun one to play around with. This Stooges set is pretty good but I can see why it's getting plenty of hate as well. They would have better just doing all of the original shorts and some of the movies instead of picking and choosing. Have a good one!
This was a dumb marketing decision. The Stooges made 190 shorts and this set only includes 100 - nearly half are missing. I have them all on DVD from Sony and in pristine condition. I also already own their feature films and other extra material on blu-ray and DVD. This set isn't worth the asking price and I'm definitely passing on it.😊
I wouldn't have bought it if they hadn't done such a big price slash. Honestly, the DVDs are still the way to go to have a complete set of their shorts. I didn't mind getting the Stooges Scrapbook pilot and upgrading the Curly-Joe movies to Blu-ray though.
What I would have done if I were Sony was just add the 97 shorts while keeping all the other bonus features, including the solo shorts and movies, and call it a day.
Daniel- I'm going to try to give you all the answers you seek in one reply: 1. I only have a few of the 1980s tapes, not a complete set sadly 2. No Curly Shuffle (that remains VHS only), but it does have Hold That Lion! 3. It's a really poor photoshopping job on the cover with Curly's headdress digitally removed. It looks really weird. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for subbing! Glad I could be of help!
I wish we get a boxset with every short, film, cartoon, and cameo in the history of Ted Healy and The Boys/The Three Stooges

How is the video quality compared to the 190 DVD sets that came out? Is blue0ray actually better?
I haven't watched through all of the Blu-ray ones yet. Once I do though, I'll make sure to do a video on it and let everyone know.

Have you compared the blu ray with the dvd’s for picture quality differences?
Haven't had a chance yet. I've only watched parts of a few shorts to test the set out. I'll be digging into it more over the next few months.

Just Asking.
HOLD HANDS YOU LOVEBIRDS!
Kind of disappointing to be honest, the boys deserve a much more prestigious set loaded with special features.
It's definitely all over the place; at least we get a couple unusual or exclusive things.
