Not Unlike The Waves lyrics
Aurora swims in the ether,
Emerald fire scars the night sky.
Sólstafir!
Amber streams from Sol
Are not unlike the waves
Of the sea, nor the endless horizon of ice.
Sólstafir!
Aurora swims in the ether,
Emerald fire paints the twilight.
Heidrun bleeds the golden nectar
For the rising sun and the moon.
The midnight wolves who watch over the dawn,
The golden dawn.
Sólstafir! Видеоклипы
I would give so many things if I could see them live..
Aurora swims in the ether,
Emerald fire scars the night sky.
Sólstafir!
Amber streams from Sol
Are not unlike the waves
Of the sea, nor the endless horizon of ice.
Sólstafir!
Aurora swims in the ether,
Emerald fire paints the twilight.
Heidrun bleeds the golden nectar
For the rising sun and the moon.
The midnight wolves who watch over the dawn,
The golden dawn.
Incredible!
Meisterwerk
This crowd is amazing!!
Sounds incredible. I just wish they would use more of the studio background vocals and a full member acoustic guitar player.
It has mix of doom/black/folk/postmetal so those of you who are naming specific genres can gtfo agalloch is amazing \m/ nice performence
De poca madre, me hubiera gustado estar ahí 🤘💀
I don't know why everyone is hating on DT, but it shouldn't be done on an Agalloch video. DT is great, and so are Agalloch. My favorite bands are Agalloch, Dream Theater, and Insomnium. Can't you like both?
Why keep people calling this a "folk metal" band? I honestly hate that kind of music but I truly love this band. To me it sounds like a great doom/black metal band. Truly emotional and truly innovating.
The songs from their earlier albums definitely had more of a neofolk sound, especially the songs on The Mantle. Lots of acoustic guitars and other instruments. With Ashes Against the Grain (the album that this song is on), they wanted more of a stripped-down sound, so they didn't use as much of that stuff. And plus, with this live performance, they had to adapt all of their songs for live performances, so even more of the "folk" elements have been eliminated.
Love
wow their songs are like 9 min long but they feel like 1 min its crazy their not long enough
@Laakerii nice... thanks
ITs most likely a gate used for silence on the distorted channel between brief pauses in music and its clamping down on the sustained clean parts. It can be difficult to set it up to be purely transparent on certain rigs. I was having the same problem for a while with my setup.
Fucking awesome epic song in my own opinion. I'm soo siked to see the play in San Francisco on the 22nd of December.
sounds like somethin keeps glitchin out to me
Portland Oregon blazers
Yes correct ❤🎉🎉
...I wonder what snare did their ex drummer used on Ashes Against the Grain. I just like its sound...
One of the guitars is pretty off.
@GallGael2, actually that would be awesome, also they should totally close their sets with a cover of Living on a Prayer.
@OlleOlofmusic its a Godin Exit22
@broodrooster22 They call it folk metal because they often use acoustic guitars and John Haughm uses clean vocals in some occasions, which is very typical for Folk Metal. I wouldn't call them Folk Metal either, more like Progressive/Post-black metal.
@wayfechylde3 Icelandic word for crepuscular rays.
Supperrr! I'm from RUSSIA❤
@broodrooster22
Folk elements can be nice such as Primordial. Finntroll and similar bands I can't do unless I am drinking.
I'm seeing Don Anderson playing what looks like one of Schecter's early C-7's. Can someone clarify?
@vieri031 And in what way are Agalloch not artists too?
@joe2goo well the music doesn't really lend to it too much, I mean you're not gunna get them doing windmills and jumping around yeah?
kms bc ill never see this irl
5:00 - most tastefull solo ever??
Yeah
but why did they cut the part just the guitar - why ?
@rollow5150 i fucking missed that. i was soo pissed!
@maedrosGR just saw them last night. it was fucking amazing. us americans get it good once in a while :)
@PhoenixDerHamster If we talking 'bout intelligent you cant even compare those two bands, in Dream Theater we have real artists. But in Agalloch we have great atmosphere and feelings
@Svartdoden Opeth is not that much boring unlike DT, but yeah agalloch is amazing
What’s up with the lead guitar? It’s harsh cutting in and out
anyone know what "Solstafir" means?
"sunbeams"
Here I am almost a decade later
pity the one guitar is way louder on the riff at 1:20, cause it kinda kills the whole riff :( but for the rest its AWESOME!!!!
There seems to be a lot of muting in the guitar. I have no doubt they can play this but the audio sounds really poor. Back to the 240p video!
yeah, it sounds like it has a flanger effect going on, lol
they are 2 different genres...that's like comparing immortal to metallica
@Svartdoden fine, I shall retaliate. Majesty* not majestuosity. hahahaha
Drums and vocals are great, what the fuck is up the fuckin guitar.
@PhoenixDerHamster
so you dont know nothing about music
ive seen them both live
they are both great! but they cant be compared.. DT playing more technical music and Agalloch are very technical too but more dark and "slow" and they are soulfull
but again... no comparison
I guess my ears are that bad, so I can' t hear anything wrong..
@Svartdoden Take Opeth out of that blasphemous comment.
thanks for uploading but whats up with the sound? sounds like one of the guitars isnt working proberly..really ruins everything... :(
yup. Although the proper term is Dark Metal.
@darkaurasinner Agalloch making melodeath?? NEI thats Doom with Influences of Deathmetal and some times Black Meetal but stop this fu**** genre discussions..
Love Agalloch, love this song, but they don't appear to be the most charismatic live band...
I absolutely adore all of their studio releases, but this right there sounds horrible. Not a live band.
Das ist ja wirklich so schlecht wie du mal erzählt hast...
Da bleib ich auch bei den Alben.
Playing ass end backwards scales in stupid time signatures doesn't make you a "real" artist.
