Falling Snow Lyrics
The water pours its embracing arms 'round the stone.
Decay drips from the unquiet void.
Where the ice forms. Where life ends.
The stone is by the crimson blood, swallowed.
The red tide beyond the ebon wound, contorted.
My sacrifice bids farewell in this river of memory:
A wave to end all time.
Red birds escape from my wounds,
And return as falling snow,
to sweep the landscape a wind haunted.
Wings without bodies.
The snow, the bitter snowfall.
You long to die in her pale arms, crystalline
To become an ode to silence.
In the soul of a mountain of birds, fallen.
The cascading pallor - of ghostless feather.
The snow has fallen
And raised this white mountain
On which you will die
And fade away in silence. Видеоклипы
Literally a epic tune beyond belief. The ending is from another place
The ending is much like sadness and power at the same time... weird but EXTREMELY GREAT!!!!!
!! i was literally shaking after the whole thing was through (first time they played full Faustian live too), Don came down, i caught him first and when i told him i had traveled 600 miles for this he responded with "oh yeah? i dare you to travel 60 000 miles just to see me." - followed up by a big LOL and hug.
i will remember that day even in death
Still treasure that moment
Great band!!, The Agalloch sound is just beautiful...i'm counting the hours to see them tomorrow live in Bucharest-Romania with Alcest.
Wish I had a chance to see them. Wish they would see how much their fans love them and would get back together
You might get a chance now. See the news
@@core3kI'm so excited for their return
@@watcheroffadinglightsame i have chills
Absolutely this was massive can't believe they split up
This seriously seriously seriously needs to be heard more.
Very important work
I saw em live near Milan, Just when ashes came out.
The location was terrible, i have to Say.
But the show was terrible too. Quite an amateur band, and i Love their works but the live performance was embarassing. Poor vocals, confused guitars both in playing and sound and the drummer was driving the rhythm with no groove at all. One of the worst live i ever experienced...
Still Listening In 2023 #Classic🤘
Even if I don´t really like the music Agalloch make, I have to admit that they are special and it seems like this really is music that means a lot to everyone who is a fan. Just like the music of Samsas Traum (my fav band) means something to me. And I love this, you can´t find this in music being popular at the moment.
my funeral song thanks
I just fell in love with this song a week ago! How has this eluded me so long? So awesome seeing these incredible musicians in action, deploying this incredibly rich music.
This is a great song from a great band! HAIL AGALLOCH!
Seeing these guys in a week. Stoked.
My favorit song!
Agalloch rules!!!
Absolutely awesome.
And I WOULD definitely see them live, in a crowd of stinky metal heads or not. Being in the presence of such talent is worth it, let alone listening my all time favourite songs being played live.
Just fantastic, I need to get that DVD. :P
I've seen them live, they're damn amazing. I can't say the same for the bands they choose to open for them.
One of the best band of the world!...
Yes
Damn man ! Look at the enjoyable pressure in their faces ! Only God know how frustrating it is to sing this song this much elegance and harmonic 💥
The fall, the bitter snowfall…
what craftsmanship live...
Godlike i have the DVD and its awesome!
Back for the 300th time this year...
I saw them in Mostovna (Slo) 2 days ago and I can tell you they actually ARE a live band, the mixing is fucked up here but the instrumentals are perfect live, John's vocals are not as good because he's forced to yell louder and it doesn't sound as natural as on studio performance.
None of that really matters, because Don Anderson's live performance was enough to make me cry several times, it's sublime, words just cannot describe how I felt. Don't believe dvds, if you get the chance go see them
chingona la rola, no hay como escuchar estas obras maestras del matal, salu2 desde MEXICO
sweet
This rules.
@deadbutfree33 You are my hero for pointing that out.
Call me crazy, but one of the reasons I will be moving back to Portland, OR. is because I will be able to see Agalloch when they play there.
@afoolisharrangement I agree. I actually watched this live version because I wanted to see if that was just how he chose to play in the studio, and if his take live was different. The end of this song gives me goosebumps because I impose my own drums over what he plays lol so much potential there!
@intoxicatedskier just look them up on wikipedia or something i guess. my favorite song by them is called "The Shadow of Our Pale Companion" off the album The Mantle, another quality work...
hehe. no la i also from singapore. wow similar taste some more. nice nice. =)
@Wolfsherz I don't think they were corrected at all, but just brought up in the final mix.
@primarypenguin You should watch their interview from the dvd, they did a lot of changes to the songs so they could play them live.
I enjoy them and have yet to see them play live -___-
So fucking brilliant
man, I got chills by reading this :~
On the dvd, the sound doesn't cut out like it does here.
@exrunenova I have many friends to like agalloch :D
Saludos From CHILE :D!
well this is the 1st time ive heard this band and i think there amazing...any other really good songs by them?
am I too late? XD
@@doctordepression3278nah
si ficcchhhkkk
@afoolisharrangement Not to run off on a passionate ode to Opeth... but they are sublime live. I absolutely love seeing them perform. They bring those songs to life, and they are SO damned tight.
I'm reminded of Windir's better moments.
Makes the place seem larger than it actually is.
I love agalloch as much as anyone else, but does anyone else feel that the tempo is a bit rushed live? Particularly here
It’s to fit more songs in the setlist
look cooler? whatever they look awesome as themselves. that makes them cooler than most anyway
chingona rola
@CheebaiGuailan Ye, I couldn't belive that they are
@CheebaiGuailan same dude i wuz more into Melodeath nd death metal but recently i hav been more into the atmospheric stuff mainly from norway and Agalloch ofcourse. my 3 fav bands are Opeth, Death, and Agalloch
@CheebaiGuailan, same here. then i discovered dream theater.. nothing in music has been the same since then, lol..
How, just tell me how not to press the re-play button? Help me, I'm stuck here for ages...
@intoxicatedskier you find anything yet?
@calmsnowfall enjoy?
best dvd you got since linkin park?? wtf?
I'm from South Africa and there's quite a few Agalloch fans in my city. Do I get props too? ;) I need to buy this DVD!
@andy92811 they playing it faster on live, coz is more fun
I love Agalloch and always will. This DVD however does not capture their live performance very well.. the guitar tones... just what
I thing that their drummer isn't really good...He really screws up sometimes...However Agalloch is just AMAZING!!!!So beautiful songs and atmosphere...Wish I could see them performing live in Greece someday...
@primarypenguin You should appreciate that they bothered to play live.
@afoolisharrangement Are you a drummer?
only??
Back when Jason had hair lol
Are people really surprised that American bands can make good prog metal? Dream Theater, Death and Fates Warning come to mind. King's X too, if you're into that kind of thing.
@deadbutfree33 LOL!!! jajajaja XD
@DOOMBASSIST4
"look cooler"?
Whats that? The music is great... just a breeze in mind. They don't have to look cool. Cool is just a foolisch word for mainstream and that shit.
Cool is not a word that can discribe such things as agalloch.
Too fast!!! 😪
agalloch es la honda. puta madre k buena banda nada pretenciosa ni fantoche!!!!!!!
@turebz Yeah, but I mean like blood wise, just because you're Norwegian, or American doesn't make you a better human, you know?
One of my favorite bands, just wish they looked cooler...it would make them more interesting live. GREAT BAND very inspiring
How do you expect them to look?
@PinkFloydrulez Well said. too much emphasis is put on "look" instead of talent. Someone could put on the "corpse paint" and try and "look" grim and forlorn", but be musically worthless. I prefer them be themselves and keep up the excellent musicianship.
these dvds are really well made... sometimes a bands first dvd just sux, not this one tho
@DOOMBASSIST4
And I made a contra statement, so you are the person who don't know how to discuss, or how to avoid with those arguments.
So, just calm down and if you want to speak with me, just turn down and talk with me serene. Thank you.
drummer's on a good one and didnt share with the rest of the band haha
they are not a live band in my opinion... they are just 4 people and the original songs in the studio have a lot of ambient, which is really hard to make live...
@wayfechylde3 well that whole album other then that, no
Sounds like Swedish band
Great band in studio but not that good live.
Yeah, it's not bad live but it could be better.
I think, is more difficult to execute the song exactly like in the studio. Maybe to execute this song perfectly need more people like sound engineers
I love Agalloch, they one of my favorite *studio* bands... but wow, they are clearly not a live band. I feel like they aren't very tight here... their timing was off more than once, and it didn't feel very organic IMO. And I was waiting for an epic take on the ending, and it didn't even quite live up to the album for me. A little underwhelmed.
I didn't compared them. Actually I underlined that both are over-rated in "their own scene", so I didn't put them in the same category. But Agalloch is already over-rated and pretty clicheistic in many details.
Agalloch! Stop being so spotty with your touring and come to Mid America, we need you badly. It's so hardcore and metalcore here I feel cramped in a reality of tight jeans.
This mix sucks, is the dvd this bad?
@NostalgicDays88 In my opinion, this band shouldn't even be playing most of their songs live, especially stuff from The Mantle. Sons from Ashes Against the Grain are passable live, but it seems like the band turns more into a jam band or something, and lacks a lot of the qualities that are on the recording that drew me to the band in the first place.
Can't compare a state of art with cliché prog-metal. Actually, Agalloch is kinda underrated. I mean, who really enjoys Our Fortress Pt 3 ?
@CheebaiGuailan Location has nothing to do with anything, doesn't chemically change anything to make you a better writer.... it's silly and narrow minded to say "Oh they must be good, they are from Norway" because in all reality, there's alos a lot of shitty bands from Scandanavia (but hardly) but yes I see where your coming from in a point, most "American" bands do suck, but that is because of mainstream and all of that good shit, location has nothing to do with thought and or flesh
Love this band, just can't understand why they're playing 7/8 strings when they can barely play 6
BIG guitar mistake at 3:41 =/
Nope. Studio version is the same.
i think if a musician is in kind of delirium then he might reach perfection, anyway, both Agalloch and Dream Theater are over-rated in their scene.
clicheistic? get over yourself, wow
Wow, great job of correcting the vocals in the studio, cause in real life he sucked mmmmmmmassively.
Quite a weak move though.
