    I purchased Zero 9 last month. My commute to work is 14.1 miles one way, 28.2 round trip. On a full charged battery, I was able to make the round trip commute. Using speed modes 1&2. Still had 1 bar left on battery.

      A powerful scooter like the 9 can easily pull 30 miles if driven softly.

    Have had my Zero 9 for 2 years, and it is a blast. I recently invested in an external battery add-on from Falcompev which doubles the watt hours of the scooter. The batteries are set up in parallel, so the peak voltage is still in the 54+ range. Not only can I easily hit 40 miles of range (in hilly Seattle), but, there is much less voltage sag through the voltage range. So even at 1/2 battery consumed, I am still seeing 50+volts input at full acceleration. I took a brisk 20 mile/32km ride today and still registered 47.9v on both batteries. Both internal and external batteries must be within 1v of each other or you can get yourself into trouble. The controller draws down the voltage equally from both batteries, so no worries there. The external battery comes in a stylish Zero semi-hard bag mounted on the top of the handle bars. I can still fold the handles down when the bag is installed.

    I've had the Zero 8 for two months now and simply love it. I'm convinced that this is the best buy/value/performance e-scooter out on the market today. I've seen another reviewer comparing Zero 8 and Zero 9 and believe it or not, the Zero 8 has the better acceleration and it's also two pounds lighter. And like you, I get top speed of 23 mph and have even reached 24-25 mph on fresh battery and I'm 183 lbs. Trust me, that's plenty fast around busy downtown areas

    I'm planning on buying my first electric scooter but I'm conflicted on whether to get a Boosted Rev or one of these Zero scooters. I like that these have suspensions but I'm a little concerned with their build quality. I would be using it around the city but I expect bumpy roads to get to my building so stability while riding is really important to me.

  • @TheNamsorg
    @TheNamsorg 5 лет назад +6

    I've had the zero 8 for three months now and I believe the zero 8 is the best scooter in terms of price/performance/weight. I'm 182 lbs and I go 23-24 mph top speed, even reached 26 mph going downhill. This is more than enough speed in my busy downtown Chicago area. Surprisingly, I've also seen many reviewers say that the zero 8 has faster acceleration than the zero 9.

    Great review and footage!
    Wait til you try a 10X (I have a Zero 9 as well)
    Definitely install some after market lights for night riding. The built in ones are fine for your visibility to other road users, but nowhere near good enough to see where you are going at the speeds they can do !
    I can also say that Falcon PEV is pretty damn great when it comes to customer service. I ordered the 10X on a Thursday night in Australia. The same night they emailed saying there was a wait for the 18Ah model but the 24Ah was in stock. I asked if I could get a discount as I was a repeat customer and they knocked $200 off shipping on the spot. The scoot arrived at my door the following Tuesday! From Singapore. Can't expect much better than THAT! :)

    When these scooters are folded, can they be pulled like a trolley or luggage bag? Or do they have to be carried?

    • @lass-inangeles7564
      @lass-inangeles7564 4 года назад

      Why would you want to pull your scooter along? Just ride it or walk it. No need to pull it behind you like a trolley, you walk alongside it. The only time you may want to fold it, is if you are putting into a shopping cart, or car, or train. In all those cases, no need to drag it either.

    • @Stormsteed

      Once I get where I’m going, I may need to traverse the halls of an office building, get on an elevator, etc. In those places, it’s inappropriate to ride the scooter and I’m not going to ride the scooter, but I don’t feel like carrying it either because I a,ready have my briefcase across my shoulder/back. With an EUC, many come with a handle that extends from the wheel so you can easily walk it in those places where it’s inappropriate to ride. If the scooter can be folded, but still needs to be carried, then it is a subpar solution for those who are thinking about a personal electric vehicle.

      @@Stormsteed Ah, I understand. I think all of them can be folded, as this is a selling point. And they have wheels so surely they can be pulled as well.

    My zero 8 came with a 50.4V charger which is able to charge the 48V battery to a maximum of around 74%.
    Why? Answer: note that the maximum (100%) charging capacity of 48V battery is not 48V but 56.4V. To charge your 48V battery to 100%/56.4V you would need a stronger charger (e.g. 60V).
    Providing a weaker charger is a smart trick some manufacturers use in order to prevent their buyers from overcharging the battery (keeping your battery charged above 30% and below 80% will triple the battery lifetime).
    The light on the charger will turn green once the current stops flowing, in other words, there is no more difference in the potential between the charger output and the battery. This only means that the battery charged to the maximum capacity of what a CHARGER can provide and this is not necessarily the max capacity of the battery itself.
    So if you see a green light on the charger, indicating that the charging is finished, but your scooter only shows 4 out of 5 bars, check your charger's power and the voltage reading of your scooter. They should be similar (e.g. for 50.4V charger your 48V scooter should read 50.1 or 50.2V when charged to the max).
    Search the internet for "Battery pack voltage comparison charge".

    Is there an option to purchase the same size and shape/width solid rear tire as the front tire for the Zero 8? Because with the front and rear tires having different width and size, it's impossible to have precise steering. This is very noticeable going downhill and on narrow, twisty bike lanes.

    Do you need to inflate the tire or is it easy to replace the tire

    Your focus on the on the 7 points is good but a few more items to discuss are reliability, durability and ground clearance, as I have many speed humps in my area.

    • @WGHpanic

      You can hop those jumps on any scooter with suspension like the 8/9
      The scooter is more durable than you are and the reliability is on the parts which are easily replaced.

    Great video with varying riding surfaces, etc. I always find it rather interesting how the load limits can vary so much from one manufacturer to another, especially when there is better suspension. The Zero 9 only having a 220 pound limit seems rather low when comparing to other comparable scooters. Thanks for the video.

    • @WGHpanic
      @WGHpanic 3 года назад +1

      It's just better for liability to set the weight limit lower, less returns from people who's scooter isn't what they thought it'd be because their weight limits the speed or range of their device more so than what the specifications say, more people happy overall.
      If you're large, get a real scooter.

    Great video, but how are you filming it without any visible connection between you and your camera. There’s a shadow showing some kind of selfie stick, is that automatically edited out of the video then? Just like the Mars Rover photos taken on Mars, no visible connection to the camera taking the photo. How’s it done?

      @@AuthenTech hahah maybe but 20 miles an hour is very achievable on the one wheel. ;) The reason I keep gravitating back to it is cuz the hands-free aspect / size it's much more manageable easy to throw in a shopping cart or slide under a desk!
