I’m sorry but I would not see Babette interested in Ann honestly she was too focused on her homesickness and did not found anything nice coming from her and the way she treated the other toys, specially in how she first treated The captain. Y’all also Ann wanted more to sympathize with her because she is new around and wanted to make sure she felt comfortable around the house. Ann wanted to give Babette comfort and a friend so she would feel more at home. It’s okay that you make a headcannon of them been a couple there’s nothing wrong with that. But in all honesty we can’t ignore that Babette was been a very awful character to the rest of the cast.

the amount of detail in the animation, drawing anne's polka dots on her dress over and over must've taken so long same with the stripes on andy's shirt. the animaton for both is so lively and theres always something going on it's so pretty and a lot of heart was put into this i can tell, this movie is just overall wholesome and adorable.

I love how the characters move around based on the type of toy they are in general Like the Raggedy's are all clumsy and floppy and automated ones are more rigid and limited. To throw my two cents into the whole Ann and Andy siblings vs romantic partners debate, they are toys, I think it boils down to how their owner views them. If their child plays with them like brother and sister, they are brother and sister, if their child has them husband and wife, then they are husband and wife. Frankly, I find the idea of trying to decide their "true" relationship is kinda silly.
I think that’s fair. The only problem I have with them being brother and sister in this though, is just how they interact sometimes feels slightly.. couple-ish. Mainly during the daisy song. That’s fair, isn’t it? Like, if you saw this scene out of context, I feel like it’d be easy to mistake

Well he was an animator himself and many great animators who inspired him worked on this. I’m really glad because a lot of the time people don’t recognize that there is many talented people who bring these drawing to life.
fun fact: this movie was actually made primarily by people with experience on stage, particularly people who had worked on broadway, which is why it's a little bit of a technical train wreck. richard williams actually left the project before the film was finished, but still got to have his name on the final product. a lot of the other animators weren't really a fan of him and reported that he cared more about individual pieces looking cool than he did about visual consistency and characters being on model (which is, again, very obvious in some parts). and a funny easter egg: at the end when the tentacle monster is pulling the pirates off the ship, the one that gets grabbed last when the looney king yells "and fire him!" was a caricature of richard williams!

A simple story goes a long way. Look at the complex animation and visuals- Ann and Andy’s exaggerated movement is how it is because they are boneless, they’re full of cotton. And look at the taffy blob, any formless entity is difficult but his liquid body is total perfection, animation wise. What else can we ask for? The characters are cute, charming, wired, and silly. Final verdict, watch all the way through.
There’s a certain irrepeatable mysticism to lost art like this. It’s like finding a whole world in a jar you found in the attic. You can’t recreate it, or explain it. It just exists as if it were always there. Abandoned and waiting to be found again.
A couple years ago I learned about this movie through a RUclips video on lost media. Glad the movie’s getting recognized. Now we have an active fandom.
I love the plot twist this movie gives you near the end *SPOILER WARNING AHEAD* I find it creative that Babette turns out to be the new captain showing that she doesn't need any rescuing at all, the fact that she became the antagonist was rather the twist

I swear I’m only 30 sum minutes into the movie and Andy and Ann are my new comfort characters. Funny thing,me and Andy have the same same :) Andy and Ann’s relationship reminds me of me and my Step Sibling who has literally been my best friend for 3 years and I love them very much. This movie is a good example of the kind love that we need from family and friends, and truthfully, I wish that I had a friend as kind as Annie. The camel crying at the end of the movie means that he's been wanting a friend who loves him for his whole life, and he also feels that the love and friends that he had before are long gone, and I'm sure that many people are going through the same thing. Every time when I go places, I see nothing but people that are unhappy, bored, and annoyed by everything, but this movie reminds me that I don't need to suffer with all of the trouble and seriousness in real life, and I think that we all would be much happier if there was love and happiness just like this in our lives.
I had one of the really big raggedy ann dolls (big enough for me to fit in her clothes when I was younger) and my mom would read me the books, this almost made me cry. I love this???
I adore the aesthetic of this film. I am a big fan of kidcore and clowncore aesthetic, so this is right up my alley. The colors, the world around them. Everything is so gentle and charming, yet whimsical and absurd. It's like if Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, and Toy Story had a baby, this is the result.

As a kid, there used to be a "raggedy ann and andy" poster in my old nursery and since it was the 90's, the tape was kinda hard to get so I always found myself wondering "who were these characters?". At random, I remembered that poster and it got me watching this movie for the very first time and...I love it. The animation is spectacular, the sweetness of Raggedy Ann's voice got me all in the emotion and I especially love how the three of them build up a friendship from all this. Love it, love everything about it.
They are very shrill but luckily they only appear in short bursts, I do think they add to the overall aesthetic though with how weird they are. All the characters are so unique that even if they sometimes end up being annoying, they can still work as a cast to make an entertaining scene.

Well he was an animator himself and many great animators who inspired him worked on this. I’m really glad because a lot of the time people don’t recognize that there is many talented people who bring these drawing to life.
fun fact: this movie was actually made primarily by people with experience on stage, particularly people who had worked on broadway, which is why it's a little bit of a technical train wreck. richard williams actually left the project before the film was finished, but still got to have his name on the final product. a lot of the other animators weren't really a fan of him and reported that he cared more about individual pieces looking cool than he did about visual consistency and characters being on model (which is, again, very obvious in some parts). and a funny easter egg: at the end when the tentacle monster is pulling the pirates off the ship, the one that gets grabbed last when the looney king yells "and fire him!" was a caricature of richard williams!

Anne and Andy has the sweetest sibling relationship. 'Candy Hearts And Paper Flowers' is such a beautiful scene
A simple story goes a long way. Look at the complex animation and visuals- Ann and Andy’s exaggerated movement is how it is because they are boneless, they’re full of cotton. And look at the taffy blob, any formless entity is difficult but his liquid body is total perfection, animation wise. What else can we ask for? The characters are cute, charming, wired, and silly.

I swear I’m only 30 sum minutes into the movie and Andy and Ann are my new comfort characters. Funny thing,me and Andy have the same same :) Andy and Ann’s relationship reminds me of me and my Step Sibling who has literally been my best friend for 3 years and I love them very much. I kinda relate to these characters in a good way! :3
This movie is a good example of the kind love that we need from family and friends, and truthfully, I wish that I had a friend as kind as Annie. The camel crying at the end of the movie means that he's been wanting a friend who loves him for his whole life, and he also feels that the love and friends that he had before are long gone, and I'm sure that many people are going through the same thing. Every time when I go places, I see nothing but people that are unhappy, bored, and annoyed by everything, but this movie reminds me that I don't need to suffer with all of the trouble and seriousness in real life, and I think that we all would be much happier if there was love and happiness just like this in our lives.

I had one of the really big raggedy ann dolls (big enough for me to fit in her clothes when I was younger) and my mom would read me the books, this almost made me cry. I love this???
I adore the aesthetic of this film. I am a big fan of kidcore and clowncore aesthetic, so this is right up my alley. The colors, the world around them. Everything is so gentle and charming, yet whimsical and absurd. It's like if Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, and Toy Story had a baby, this is the result.

As a kid, there used to be a "raggedy ann and andy" poster in my old nursery and since it was the 90's, the tape was kinda hard to get so I always found myself wondering "who were these characters?". At random, I remembered that poster and it got me watching this movie for the very first time and...I love it.
The animation is spectacular, the sweetness of Raggedy Ann's voice got me all in the emotion and I especially love how the three of them build up a friendship from all this.
Love it, love everything about it.

They are very shrill but luckily they only appear in short bursts, I do think they add to the overall aesthetic though with how weird they are. All the characters are so unique that even if they sometimes end up being annoying, they can still work as a cast to make an entertaining scene.
