I have a Circular Saw, Jig Saw, Belt Sander, and a palm sander all from Hyper Tough and I like them all. I have had these tools for over six months now and they have been working very well for me with no problems. I have also ordered (but not received) the Hyper Tough 10" Sliding Miter Saw. I'm hoping it works as well as all the other tools I have gotten from Hyper Tough. I know a lot of people say to buy a higher priced tool to get better quality, but on a limited budget I have tried these tools and they work well for the hobby woodworking that I do.
I have an old Delta 10" Table Saw that I picked up second hand. So I don't know how the one from Walmart would be. My other stuff has been working fine for me. It's been about two years now and still going strong.
I don't think you are stupid for getting it at a flea market, a lot of people get their tools there or pawn shops. But like you already done, if you are going to buy second hand power tools, get it from a reputable brand. I feel like Hyper tough, like the other comment said, is decent for a oribital sander or even the grinder but not for an actual power tool. But like most things, you wouldn't know that unless you tried it or know someone that has. That's how people learn......from mistakes. You are definitely not stupid.
I've actually had good luck with mine so far. We'll see how long it lasts but it allows me to practice and build without breaking the bank. No fire yet😂
Well damn, I just bought a hyper tough circular saw...I'm going to try and rip some 2x10's down to 2x8 & a 1/4..was going to buy HF but hyper tough looked pretty good....well tomorrow will tell.
