The KITH / TAG conversion is interesting. Clearly this collaboration wasn’t meant for people who were buying the original in the 90s for like $250. It’s a collaboration with KITH (a fashion brand). LVMH / TAG are clearly engaging with a younger customer who’s willing to pay a premium for a very limited watch collaboration with a very successful brand. I applaud Frederic and the powers that be for pulling this off.
The new drinking game is the over/under on the "Quote unquote" quote...
As a sidenote for those tired of hearing “like,” and a certain voice, just google “vocal fry,” and you’ll get it. Found the first half of the convo interesting. And then the topic shifted to “streetwear,” awards shows, etc. Womp womp. 😕 FYI Hodinkee: We haven’t completely given up on you, but simply handing the keys over to Millennials and Gen Zers (CNN style) might not be the answer. Many of us miss Jack Forster, and know that ship’s sailed, but a little…multigenerational diversity and insight might be well-received. Better yet…just make Tim Mosso an offer he can’t refuse. That’d break the internet 😂
🤚I am one who DOESN'T miss Jack Forster at all, but I like the occasional piece he does with Mosso on a different platform. IMO he peaked around 2018 and was quickly outshined by James Stacy. And don't make me laugh about 'multigenerational diversity' blah blah blah. 🤣 Wind the clock back a few years and the face of Hodinkee was (and mostly still IS) a 30-50 year old white male with a goatee/beard. I don't recall people complaining about diversity in the comment section then.

For a brand called "the watchmaker's matchmaker" JLC have hardly made any new models or calibres over the last decade. JLC need to get out of that Richemont cage and spread its wings a bit.
JLC is all about Reverso. If you look at the Richemont strategy, it's about putting all the brands in their own box, and not spreading their wings.
@@derosa1989 yes, absolutely. Look at the Duometre, they hadn't touched that model for a decade; the new ones are basically the exact same with worse finishing and a new rounder case that copies a TAG Heuer Glassbox crystal. I've heard that JLC are now even reducing boutique prices too... Just lol.
TAG collaboration with a street-style clothing company just ruined my view on TAG…terrible decision
Total L on that Kith x Heuer reissue. I think a mass F1 rerelease would've introduced so many people into the Heuer brand.
