Nothing is more beautiful then a well worn watch that someone has enjoyed every single day and will continue to enjoy the rest of their lives. Whomever got you that gift is a keeper!

I have an Explorer 39” and it’s so comfortable and adaptable, it really could be your only watch for the rest of your life. The only problem is resisting to collect other watches…

Nice video production, not quite sure how he could've had this watch for close to 13 years when it was only released in 2016

The only way would be if he bought a MK1 dial and had Rolex swap to a MKII post 2016, they were allowing swaps for the updated dial. Probably still will.

@@Nextman916 This is a good point thanks, it would be interesting to know if the hands and dial were swapped on service, with or without request..

@@palmeadiaI’d think it would’ve been by request, the previous dial was intentional and not an error in production in which Rolex may then sometimes take the liberty to update at their discretion. But even if there had been damage to the MK1 dial, I’m sure they have more than enough MK1 replacement dials than to just update it. The MK2 dial swap request also came with the longer hands to match.
I’d rather just source an authentic set of mk2 hands and dial and do it myself rather than lose the MK1 dial it originally came with, that way you could always restore it and not lose value by marring its original configuration. Who knows what Mats did here 🤷🏻‍♂️
