I found really clean, 110k miles ones (Accord EX) for $5,800. You should look them up. Civics are smaller and get better gas mileage but I've had both and I'm buying the 8th gen again because Man! that car is so good.

Man when these came out, I was still driving my 11 year old 2000 Civic...Wanted it so bad but couldn't understand why the reviews were so crap. Nonetheless, I was able to buy the 2014 model and I had lots of fun in that car. Loved the digital gauge and i-mid screen. These cars are so cheap second-hand and I would happily buy one over a Corolla or Forte of the same age. You can pretty much get these cars for about the same price as the 8th gens.

I have an 2008 LX. Looks and drives like new. No paint issues at all. I bought it used with 117k miles. One owner before me, perfectly maintained. Even transmission drain and fills every 35k. Now it has 165k 5 years later. I'd trust it to drive cross country. But I do have a 2012 FJ Cruiser with only 85k miles that I take on long trips; the Civic is my daily in town driver.

I love my 10th gen 2018 Civic EX-T bought new in June 2018. It’s a 1.5 liter turbo averaging 33.7 mpg with 174 hp 162 lb/ft torque. Curb weight is under 2,900 lbs. The performance is exceptional. I only use top-tier 93 Octane for the high detergent additives (trying to mitigate carbon deposits since it’s a turbo). I change the oil/filter every 4,200-5,000 miles using only Honda 0W-20 oil. I already changed the transmission fluid and the engine air filter, twice. I hit 73,000 miles with no problems to date. Keep your car well maintained and you will have many years of trouble-free driving. I plan to keep my Civic for over 250,000 miles.

Correct and agreed. I neglected to mention that I use Shell 93 Octane. All top-tier gas has above the US minimum cleaning additives. However, Shell formulated a higher detergent additive above top-tier. They only include that higher level additive in their 93 Octane ( I’m sure to squeeze as much money from the consumer) so that’s why I use it. Who knows how much better it is (although independent testing shows it cleans better.

I have a 2013. Same model. Went through three front wheel bearing, before it went 88,000 miles. (the chrome plating fell of the bearings). Three different times codes, "Emission control's". (Honda charged $500 to reset the code. The 2nd time, I bought an OBD2 scanner and reset it myself. Dealer said there was no problem, it just needs to be reset). On the 3rd gas cap. (I now put a very thin coat of grease on the rubber seal of the gas cap to keep it from getting brittle or cracking). To remove the wheels, you need to have a big hammer to hit the tires on the inside to remove them. ROAD NOISE! More road noise comes though the vehicle, than any car I've ever owned. Every little noise on the interstate is heard inside, from the rolling of the tires to the wind going over the car. If you like to listen to audiobooks in your Honda Civic, you need to have the audio maxed (on 40). It may be a good little car for a college student, a 2nd vehicle, but it's definitely not a comfortable car and I would not want to take it on a cross country trip.

They wanted $8300 and got them to go to $7500 due to the paint. One side of the hood line looks a little off compared to the other side. Clean carfax but that only shows what was reported. I have this car , and it’s 110K km , and shift like dream . Only problem that I have it’s very low and it drags on snow and damaged the bottom plate all the time . So far I replace 2 plates and 3rd is already due . Other than that it’s really good car

It's the modern-day version of a 1980s Volvo. Regular maintenance and it'll last forever... except maybe the pins that hold the bumpers on.

How do I know what body/interior style a 2012 Honda Civic 1.8 LTR just like this one is? Some folks may say, DUHH, it says LX right there in the heading of this video. They may be right, but when you go to buy parts for any car you better make sure 100% you know what part it is, and the style of these vehicle's are. We have all the same features of your car, and it's a 2012 with only 57,000 miles on it. So now we are going across country, and want to make sure everything as far as Battery, Alternator, Tires, ETC are in order, and we can cruise the country with no worry's at all. We always carry the basic tools and emergency equipment with us when we hit the road, but firestone has called this vehicle a DX, and a LX, on tires and regular maintenance 2x's. Are car has the clothe interior, with power windows, ABS braking system, power locks, power trunk via the key fob. I got into it the other day, and left the hazard lights on for about 45 minutes and when we were ready to go the car wouldn't start. I had it checked by 3 auto parts store and they all said everything is fine. I left the car sitting for 4 days and went out there and it started right up. But Being a elder statesman i know you should be able to leave the hazard lights on for hours without it draining the battery. I left it sitting again for 3 or 4 days driving my Truck, and went out and the 2012 Honda started right up. So as a Honda civic lover for just the fuel savings, we now have are first ever doubts about this car. It sounds crazy but it's the honest to gods truth. I been told so many things like, oh, sometimes it will do that. Well on a cross country trip in a 2012 Honda civic probably a LX I am not so sure now. The moral to my comment is, If anyone knows why this would happen we would appreciate any knowledge you may have. We bought this car in 2013, and have never had 1 issue with it. Thanks for the video, and may God Bless us all.

Need advice anyone please??? I can't decide between a 2012 Scion Tc auto, 120k miles or a 2012 Honda Civic LX w Manual Transmission, 88k miles. I like the idea of a Honda with lower mileage even though it's slow and not sporty look. The Tc is faster as far as hp goes and looks better than the Civic LX but the 2 doors might make car insurance higher. I just want a fun daily, driver car and yes, I considered a Civic Si but they're out of my budget and most are high mileage or heavily modded. Let me know your thoughts??? Thx

What’s your take on a 2013 civic, and what model? Example, is the si reliable and if not what should I get? I’m torn between a civic and a Corolla 2012. Over all it’s between these two and I have zero idea idea what models are best and most reliable for both? For me it comes down to reliability and resale value. What’s the best?

@@drewt1 I’ve noticed the Corolla for the same millage and year is around 4K cheaper though. As long as the civic holds value for when I decided to sell it than I’ll go with a civic. Do civics hold value or would I be spending an extra 4K for nothing?

Not to be a downer, but the 12 Civic is known as the one and only year Honda made a big mistake. If you know anything about Civic history, there was such a huge outcry from the public when this car came out. It was because of the poor quality of materials Honda chose to use on the interior components, especially the "rice paper" dash. Honda was so inundated with complaints that they quickly had their engineers redo the car for the 2013 model year. You will notice that the 2013-2015 Civics look very different in terms of interior materials and they also have different front and rear end styling. Very dependable cars, however. I used to own a 2014 Civic LX.
