I remember watching it as a kid in the 80s. 10 years later in the 90's when the line dance craze was in full effect and the bars were packed every night. I would be living the Honky-Tonk life myself. Great times. And when i say "living the life" i was fully emerged.

Gilley's was the ultimate nightclub and the man himself is legendary. This young woman probably hadn't heard one song of his and she was honestly disgraceful. Far from it did she deserve the privilege of interviewing MG.

Did you know that the movie Urban Cowboy caused the price of western wear such as boots and hats go up in price? For example a 5X Resistol beaver felt hat was $90-95 then went to $100-125, and a good pair of Tony Lama boots about the same as a hat.
What makes me laugh is they call a bucking machine a mechanical bull and they use a bareback rigging to hold on to. A bucking machine is for practice in all 3 rough stock events.
As for me a former bareback and saddle bronc rider a real rodeo cowboy back in day I somewhat survived the Urban Cowboy days.

How many acres is your spread??? Weaning weights on the average?? Are you a plastic cowboy or have you ever pulled calves..baled hay..fed range cubes..so many rodeo boys rarely smelled cow $4!+ til they started the plastic cowboy thing😂😂

@DJK-cq2uy spent some time on my uncle's ranch. I have my experience of ranch work. That's how I got into the rodeo game by riding calves and when I gotten older breaking horses, nothing plastic about me. Not even a bar stoll cowboy.
