Life was so much simpler then, wish it was 1980 all over again.
I am 24 born in 98, watching urban cowboy reminds me a lot of my childhood in Houston. The houses or even the how that’s how most of Houston used to look like
I wished I would had stayed in Texas, because those were nicer and better looking houses than here in Arizona. Oh, well...One day, I will be back.
Urban Cowboy never gets old one of my favorite movies
It is in one of my top 10 favorite movies.
I saw it in the theater with my boyfriend in high school.
The Urban Cowboy Movement shaped and molded Country Music into something truly unique and special.
I went to Gilley’s one night during the height of the “Urban Cowboy” craze. I remember that it had just rained and the parking lot was full of giant water-filled potholes. Once inside, the place was crazy crowded. Their men’s bathrooms had long urinals. I remember standing next to one guy who was from Australia and on the other side of me was a guy from Britain. The dance floor was so large that during a slow song you might only make a complete circle once before the song ended.
Please post positive proof pronto

If John Travolta's in a movie I'm watching it. Even a country music movie. He's one of the best and so good looking always. ❤❤❤ 😊😊
Well, he proved everybody wrong and CAN play country. He did a damn good job here. I wondered if he had to study some real life Texans to get the mannerisms, accent, and dress right?
please do an interview with Madolyn Smith! Pam in the Urban Cowboy
She was so beautiful.
Dave Ward is awesome
I miss him so much. One of the greatest in Texas news history.
Such sweet heart I love all of his songs
I always said when I grew up in Beaumont, Texas that I would go to Gilley's and go dancing every weekend. But never happened. I was 13 when it burnt down....Bummer...
I heard Gator Conley lives in Onalaska, Texas now. I went there fro 4th grade to 12th grade. I had no idea!! I wished I could had met him. He was one of the featured locals on the movie.
I saw M. Gilley perform when he was in his prime, in 1990. We later learned that he was very ill with the flu and had a fever when he performed, but you never would have known it; he did not cancel his performance and I will never forget how beautiful his voice was.
His prime was actually in this movie and in the mid to late 70s
My mother was a waitress at The Golden Stein restaurant/club in downtown Houston in the mid-sixties, Mickey Gilley performed there, he used to wear a suit and tie, i have a 8×10 black and white picture of him, he signed the picture made out to me, im in my early sixties now, his picture framed sitting on my mantle
God bless Mickey and ole Sherwood
My Moms Apartment Was Used For The Filmed When Bud Wakes Up Hungover With Steves Girls

Ive studied Conway Twitty's life and career, and I never knew that he helped Mickey really get his touring career going.
Me neither. I didn't know they had a connection. Cool!

I didn't know Gilley had that accident, so sorry he can't play that piano anymore, he was as good as his cousin's I believe they are, Jerry Lee Lewis. Glad he's still singing! And Urban Cowboy is a great movie!
I miss Dave Ward.
I was born in 1979 and turned 1 the year of the Movie Premiere
the 86' mets got in a bar room fight at Gilley's. I read that.
My dad looks just like Mickey Gilley!!! They could have been twins!!!
I have this movie on DVD
We all know Gilleys was burned down to collect the insurance.
I hope Micky Gilly comes back to singing
Unfortunately he probably died soon after your post
No mention of when he wrecked his Miata and nearly got killed.
Pam? Or Sissy? 👀
Sherwood Cryer did more for Pasadena, country music and the culture than most of the dbags in the hof. Sherwood Cryer not being in the CMHOF is shameful. Can't trust anyone. MG lied i the interview as usual, he did announce they were doing UC on a talk show. Like he thought it up. smmfh
Where's all the people of color at..
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Maybe not your movie... move along.
Oh please 🙄
