      Agree, however ive zero sympathy for the owner of Israel cycling team. Its not hard to ascertain if Froome could still do 7watts per kg prior to agreeing to pay him 5 million euros a year, Lots of respect for Bernal stating that he isn't yet ready to lead a GC team. I wonder if another grand champion Lewis hamiltion will prove to be a super expensive none assets when he goes to Ferrari next year for a reported 45 million?

    Great job on the this video! He's was clearly dominant ifor a certain period and goes down in my book as aone of the Grand Tour legends. But he no longer has what it takes - a few kilos heavier and lacks the power to stay even mid pack at pro tour level. Its a shame

      I don't know what you mean by "making it" but he probably won't either way. He's 38, he's injured and his last victory was in 2018. Not exactly a golden transfer from Israel Premier Tech but I guess they had money to burn

    Crap shoot if you recover to full form from a crash. Remco did. Alaphilippe did not. (2 wins last year so maybe he's back) Jakobsen did. Bernal did not. Etc.

    Froome is a very strange case. I never saw a rider declining so brutally. Even taking into account his accident and his age, it's surprising.

    • @Bob-ts2tu
      @Bob-ts2tu 2 месяца назад +1

      i get what you are saying, but imho id say what IS surprising is how many riders do come back after really serious crashes. when it catches up with one such as Chris it's real sad, as i'm sure given the choice he would have gotten back to fitness quickly, as one who soars the highest has the furthest to fall. Great video 👍 Froome was a great Champion but his biggest achievement in life is how he fought his way back to the pro peloton. But he should have then hanged up his bike instead of being a cyclist tourist finishing in gruppetto.

    His decline can no longer be blamed on that accident, he was on the decline before that moment. When SKY recieved a new sponsor in INEOS the owner made it clear that anyone caught or involved with doping would result in the entire team being dissolved. Since the takeover Brailsford was moved on and Froome and others saw their dominace slide, clearly since 2019 Froome and many others from Sky days had stopped or reduced their doping

    • @CelixFat
      @CelixFat 3 месяца назад

      Absolutely. If you look at Froome’s results at ineos pre-crash, they weren’t fantastic. It isn’t that unusual for a rider of his kind to pick up form for the Tour, but something was off.
