I've had my Ronin S for over two weeks, and I've used it on two feature films. One film for behind the scenes filming. The second film as DP. I've captured the smoothest footage I've seen. I also have the Zhiyun Crane v2, which is good. But, my experience with the Ronin S has been better, despite the heavier weight. Which I don't mind, considering that I had the Ronin S on and operating for at least 12 hours when shooting BTS.
This is only really useful for bigger payloads, ala 5DMkIV with bigger lenses. If you've got something like a GH5 with a light lens, you'd be way better off with a Zhiyun Crane v2 or Crane Plus. I've used the Zhiyun Crane 2 a bit, and find it harder to use for a day than a traditional dual handle gimbal like a DJI Ronin M or Movi M5.
@1:45 mine does not follow my movements as fast as yours. Seems rather sluggish. I obviously just purchased the gimbal, and haven't had too much time to dive in to settings, but I presume it's just a setting speed? Do you know which in particular?
Did you Auto Tune your Settings (via Ronin App)? Also do a Balance Test via the Ronin App to make sure your Setup is perfectly balanced. Had the same issue and the Auto Tune gave me the relief.
Aleš Bajc go in to smooth track and turn off the second axis. (Swipe to the second one; turn everything off). By default, the second profile has it set up this way too.
