  • This video Was on my West Virginia Trip to Cass Scenic Railroad! West Virginia Steam is Awesome!
On Tristan Rail-Productions We take you for another West Virginia Railroad Adventure along the Greenbrier River. In the little country town of Durbin, WV, is a Railroad The Durbin and Greenbrier Railroad, and Operates another Gearing Locomotive, and as you seen the Shays at Cass, here is another One, called the Heisler. The Heisler is another Gearing Locomotive besides the Shay, and The Climax.
Here is in this Video is Cass Railroads Heisler No.6, and Heisler 6 Operating on Cass, is Now Operating at the Durbin Railroad, pulling the Train called the Durbin Rocket. So you will See it Early in the Morning doing its Morning Routine, getting ready for the 10:00 AM train. Here I Filmed Heisler 6 Moving backwards and And Switching Tracks. Then Couples to the cars for its Train. Here the Heisler Moves around, and I film Shots of it Sitting. Then I get Heisler Departing from the Durbin Depot, and going Backwards, blowing the Whistle. Then We Chase it at Nottingham, WV. Along the Mountains, beside the Greenbrier River. (AT THAT POINT MY FILM STOPPED ON ME AND I HAD TO DO A SECOND VIDEO! SORRY.) Please Watch Part 2 to see More!
Heisler 6- a 90 ton, 3 truck Heisler, built by the Heisler Locomotive Works in 1929, and was Used on the Bostonia Coal & Clay Products Company of Bethlehem, PA. It was Numbered as their No.20. It worked most of its Life. Serving on the Meadow River Lumber Company, Rainelle, WV. Then Finally in the later 1960s, Heisler 6 Came to the Cass Railroad, and went from Rainelle to Cass under it's own Steam and Power. It's been at Cass doing Trains with the Other Gearing Engines the "Shays" on the Cass. But in 2016, 1913 built Climax No.3 was Taken out Service at The Durbin rocket, so Heisler No.6 took over Pulling the Trains, and was moved 15 miles of Cass to the Durbin! Ever since then!

Tristan Rail - Productions same channel
It is her original stack that she wore at the Meadow River Lumber Company, And it really gives her more charm and personality than the Cass Lima Diamond.

I am not sure. But I would think so. But I will have to check on that.

Yes, there is a 2 truck Heisler behind the engine house in Durbin. It’s the last Heisler built, Middle Fork Railroad number 7. It will eventually be restored to operation.

That's Heisler 6's ORIGINAL stack by the way! Guess they decided to put it back on for a little while. Normally it operates with a diamond stack similar to the Cass shays.

Yes, that is an L&N 3 chime. It’s owned by former Cass shop foreman and engineer Artie Barkley.
