I really like the fact that you don't try to sell expensive painting supplies that you really do not need. Its great that you explain everything clearly. Thank you.
At last a tutor who knows how to teach, so grateful, I have spent a lot of money going to art classes where the tutor just walks around chatting about anything other that the job in hand. I like you because you show what to do but leave interpretation to viewer. Thank you.
I am a boat builder , have sailed boats since I was a child and I am also a painter and love to paint boats. You have done an amazing painting here, and I cant wait to have a try at coping it Thanks
Thank you you are a very talented Artist. I really enjoyed watching you, I don't do Acrylics, I do Oil painting and I would try this in oils! Thank you again!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time with all of us. Please ignore any rude comments. People complain even for something freely given from a really cool guy!
I am a beginner at acrylic and it was really helpful to learn different techniques.... it was easy to follow and the painting came out beautiful... thank you very much😊
Absolutely Brilliant!! I haven't painted a picture since primary school and am now retired. I saw this lesson and gave it a go. I thought the worst that can happen is that I wast a bit of time and a dash or two of acrylic paints. It took me a few days with a few adjustments here and there but I got there. It looks brilliant!! I really shocked myself. Thanks so much. Luckily I took pics at different stages as proof to friends that I did do it, all from 1 lesson. It will take some convincing I'm sure. I finished the canvas just minutes ago... Hot off the press.
This is an awesome painting with a great tutorial, I like when we get blood and guts (mistakes), as we are then shown how to fix them and I think it is important for everyone to see this. The re-applying of paint is also a good thing, as we get to see how this is done. Thank You.
Hi, I am watching this for the 2nd time, before I commence my "attempt." I think you are a SUPERLATIVE teacher. And, you should NOT apologize for painting sections "in" and "out"> Even, as I am a beginner, I know that is to be expected. I cannot wait to try this! yeah! THANKS!!! love, m
Great work, particularly tutoring on how to make an ocean look so natural. I must say though, I liked it much better at 1:31 before you defuse it into the night sky. I though the painting had more depth at that point and that the lighting was outstanding.
This is absolutely stunning. I can't wait to try it, though I am also terrified of the waves. I love that this is a challenge though. Not enough challenging paintings on youtube for those of us trying to do harder stuff. Thank you.
Love it. Thanks for showing the mistakes. It helps to know everyone makes them and encourage you to just change them and don't quit. Thank you for sharing. Hope to see more.
OMG! You have no idea how informative this was for me! I've seen tutorials where the water was just either flat or beachy. I've always wanted to do something dramatic and now I can. I am an oil painter that's getting ready to try Acrylics for the first time. You've made this transition much easier. I love your videos. Keep em coming! Thank you!
It is a combination of both. I often do look at reference photos, then sort of smash them all together into 1 painting. Sometimes I do paint completely from my imagination, and I actually made a video showing my technique in starting a painting completely from your head (which is surprisingly EASIER sometimes). Check it out here: ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&video_id=SnSB_1EGU7U
I loved this video . And how you explained things like turning the painting upside down and making the clouds fall into the hole was superb. I also like that when you made mistakes you showed how to correct them that was a nice touch. You are so talented thank you for sharing your talent with us.
SO generous sharing this with the world. Thank you thank you thaaank you. So sick of easy simple paintings on other channels :( Oh wowwww I am now seeing your other videos ! BEAUTIES. THANK YOU !
Such drama in that painting, I love painting water.. you did a great job on the motion of the waves and those clouds are so beautiful. I struggle with that. Your painting helped me in my quest to make better clouds. Job well done!
I was scanning RUclips for a painting tutorial, I'm a beginner and I saw this and fell in love. I don't know what made me think of even trying this due to my lack of skill to paint clouds. I've been painting the clouds for 3 days off and on but will keep trying. You have an awesome eye!
This is absolutely beautiful. It took my breath away when I saw it. No matter what colors you used or did not use it is a beautiful painting. Thanks so much for this great tutorial! :D
First time watching you, went to your website and I just love your pictures, love you paintings, love that you paint in acrylic I’m going to paint this picture fosure
Wow! Beautiful! I wish you would also include what brushes you are using in the description area. Its great how you make mistakes and show us how to fix it. Thank you

i love using fewer colors..when a tutorial starts with over 15 colors im too tired to paint by the time i prep my canvas and the pallet is ready...im trying this painting but my inexperience might get in the way..yours is gorgeous.....ty u r a good teacher also
THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!! dang, I should try some acrylic paint now!!!!! ( right now I'm using graphite and pen, and a little of water color!) dang, this looks amazing!!!!!
Wow, amazing! Love your tutorial, excellent instruction. Wish me luck as it seems a higher level than beginner but I won't learn if I don't try. Looking forward to more from you.
Painted this for my Abuelo and he loved it, we are an ocean loving family and I've always wanted to try and paint the ocean with a ship in a storm, this was perfect.. thank you❤️ mine wasn't as good as yours but very close
I am fairly new at painting, and I learned SOOO incredibly much from this tutorial!! Thank you!! Granted the ocean REALLY got away from me and doesn't look anything like yours, I still really love the end result of this painting and I vow to try it again once I've painted a little longer and learned a little more. I really can't wait to try some of your other tutorials, I really am gravitating towards landscapes and nature paintings so I'm so happy I found your channel. I'll be back for more. (And feel free to throw in there once in awhile that your painting is SUPPOSED to look ugly at some point lol ...... I felt a little over my head at times (and I was ... let's face it) but like I said --- the end result speaks for itself, turned out great.
Beautiful painting. Thanks for sharing and let us know how to do it. Though it's hard for me as a beginner, I would try. To draw is the worst for me. Thank you.
I really like the fact that you don't try to sell expensive painting supplies that you really do not need. Its great that you explain everything clearly. Thank you.
That was just brilliant the way you turned the canvas upside down for the clouds.... love the perspective of the clouds going upwards...Thank you.
At last a tutor who knows how to teach, so grateful, I have spent a lot of money going to art classes where the tutor just walks around chatting about anything other that the job in hand. I like you because you show what to do but leave interpretation to viewer. Thank you.
Paul Knight Thank you! I find I talk too much sometimes but i suppose that can be a good thing with art instruction lol

Glad you liked it! :)
Absolutely loved this tutorial! You explained every part and detail so carefully

Look at those waves and those rolling clouds. It's beautiful!

Maureen Lippincott Thank you! :)
Just found your tutorials today. Your grounded approach is much appreciated.
Great work, particularly tutoring on how to make an ocean look so natural. I must say though, I liked it much better at 1:31 before you defuse it into the night sky. I though the painting had more depth at that point and that the lighting was outstanding.
Amazing! Such movement!
Love the painting. I think I'll give this one a try. Looking forward to the next tutorial.
Absolutely love this! It made me feel sea sick just watching you do the waves! It's great
This is beautiful, can’t wait to give it a try. Thank you!!

Glad to have helped! I am actually considering making a shorter video specific to only the water technique.
I would love that! Do you reference photos or do these come out of your head?
It is a combination of both. I often do look at reference photos, then sort of smash them all together into 1 painting. I'm going to look at it now. Do you have any videos with oil over Acrylic and if not can you do one? I want to learn that too.
I do not, unfortunately. I used to do a lot more oil painting, but lately have been doing acrylic exclusively.
I loved this video . And how you explained things like turning the painting upside down and making the clouds fall into the hole was superb.
I also like that when you made mistakes you showed how to correct them that was a nice touch.
You are so talented thank you for sharing your talent with us.
