Enjoyed this honest review. I'm so happy I splurged and got one of the old bottle and one of the newer one in the blue tin. I'm saving them for a special occasion. The previous price in 2019 was $109 USD. Now it is $144 USD.
Sometimes it is good to pay a bit more for a quality whisky. I am surprised sometimes that my online store still have these old bottles available. I also like to visit the small little shops in all the countries I visit. I found some great bargains in Sarajevo last year. Always hunting. Thanks for the positive feedback. I try to give a no BS review.
Congratulations on finding the older version of this. Have also only had a sample of this but really loved it. The 14 year PX finish special release from several years ago is one I also only had a sample of but is my favorite Bunnahabin so far. Worth getting if a sample is available. Cheers Gert
Thanks. It seems to be available here. At a premium. I will take a look to find the 14 px. Cheers. Thanks for taking time to comment. Hope you have a great weekend
Yes. You are correct. Thanks for that correct. Do not know why I said that. Just checked my notes and it also show Islay. Getting old. Cheers. I think that a lot of whisky is getting to expensive. Working on the Nikka 12 now at about €130 to €150 here in Europe. Very expensive for a 12 year old. Will be uploaded tomorrow or Sunday.
@@WhiskyLoversSociety Mistakes happen, I make tons of them. I love tasting whiskies more than most, but I personally I would not pay that for Nikka 12, or any 12 that isn't extinct or something to that effect. Most 18s are quicky becoming prohibitively expensive. I paid $120 for the newer Bunnahabhain 18 a few months ago, it's a great malt and worth it for a special occasion at that price all things considered; but it's at least $20 more than that now, and that's getting too expensive for me. It could be worse, we could be talking about $400 Macallan 18! I generally like to keep my purchases below $60, but I'm thrilled when I find good solid malts for under $40, and they still exist ✌️
@@MrChristopherMolloy I will also do some reviews on Budget whisky this year if I can Find them I think $60 is a good top end price Thanks again for you comments.
Nice review! Thank you for letting us finally know how to pronounce this name! Probably the reason we have never reviewed one as we are afraid of the bashing that ensues when you mispronounce a whiskey name. Lol cheers!
Great review. I love Bunna 18... what I don't love is the current prices. I used to buy this at around £60 a bottle. The current £110-120 is a bit too much. Shame! Fully respect your choice to drink this at the full 46.3% and not add water. A lot of people think that you're missing out by not adding water at all. I agree with you that 46.3% is perfect for this whisky. Regarding the bitterness of sherry casks; IMHO that tends to be genuine European oak sherry butts that does that. I'm not sure but I would guess that Bunnahabhain use a combination of European oak and much sweeter, cheaper and more approachable sherry seasoned American oak. That would be my guess anyway! Cheers!
Thanks for your comment. With regards to the European oak barrels. You are correct. I spoke to Iain from Glencadam and according to him a lot of distilleries are now using American oak that was used to fill sherry with. Less expensive. So not always possible to know what they use. . Cheers

That color is no joke. Jean and I really do need to get more into this brand. Those were some nice notes today. Cheers.
Thanks mate. Great dram with a price to match 🙈
That's a great score, and review my friend. Beautiful natural color.
Thanks for your positive comment. Really appreciate it.
Aha! The Bunnahabhain...a great distillery and great people behind the whisky. Nice review!!
This is a fantastic dram

You said it comes from Skye; it actually comes from Islay. Great whisky, but it's getting more expensive everywhere.

I really like your reviews. Not a big fan of your green screen/backgrounds though.
Thanks. Busy with some changes in the room so I need to use the green screen. Will be going back to the bar at some time.
Keep it up!! Do not miss out = P r o m o S M!
