    I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

I pulled it off to inspect the rope and it seems fine (pulling wise) and spark plug, connectors and the two cylinders seem fine and I use 1:1 so my thought is something to do with the flywheel? • @wallysworkin823
      @wallysworkin823  Год назад

      You need to check your valve adjustment. The cam gear has a compression release so if the valves are out of adjustment it will not operate properly. The other issue could be fuel delivery, check the filter or filters also inspect the tank vent.

      For the most part it’s all the same for the 500. However I don’t see as many loose engine pans, most likely due to the lower engine RPM they operate at. 2% is normal but if you are running high quality oil 1% works well to.

      See how it runs with the new fuel filter, it may just need a carb adjustment also. If you don’t use it on a regular basis it may need a carb overhaul. If it slowly looses power and dies it’s usually fuel system related, if it shuts off like you hit the kill switch it could be a coil problem.

    I purchased my BR600 around 2005. I've had two issues with it. The first, and most annoying....it will not use a full tank of fuel before shutting down. It will leave about a third of a tank. I need to tip the machine to get the fill opening on the tank to its highest level and fill it to the top to get decent run time. I've had it to two dealers and they haven;t been able to fix the problem. Maybe you could offer your opinion on that.
    The second issue was a crank bearing fail. I'm not sure why this happened...I always use a premium brand oil. The same oil I use for all my Two stroke and 4-mix engines with no issues. My main issue with the crank bearing is that it can't be purchased separately. It would an inexpensive fix if it was. I replaced the crank assembly along with a few other parts (because it was apart) and it has been running as good or better than new since.
    My research on the BR700 showed that it has different exhaust valves than the BR600. I'm not sure if that's just a part number issue or if they really are different....considering that they have the same engines. I did notice that the valve train was revised on the BR600 when I rebuilt mine. Maybe you could comment on that.
    Other than the plastic at the exhaust melting.....I haven't had any of the issues you've mentioned.
    Thank you for the video.

    • @wallysworkin823
      @wallysworkin823  Год назад +3

      Do you have a single fuel filter in the tank? Early models had a single but the newer ones have a dual filter which helps pull fuel from both sides of the tank. I have seen several crank bearings failures, some were just part failures. Unfortunately the crank needs to be replaced and it’s not cheap. I’m not aware of a change in exhaust valves them selves, I would need to look that up. There was a change in the cams after your blower. The metal plate on the back of the cam would come off and cause damage. Good to see your still running an old unit, take care of it and it will run for a long time.

    • @victormarinelli5660
      @victormarinelli5660 Год назад +2

      I would think that the dealers would have addressed the vent on the tank...but...you never know. Its been years since I've looked into the problem...I may have replaced the vent myself. The machine runs perfectly to that point....another reason why I don't believe it's a vent issue. Also...if I shake the machine when it begins to stumble...it will continue to run for a period of time. Suggesting that it's a fuel pickup issue.
      I believe my unit has a single fuel pickup design. I'll look into that.
      Thank you for the responses. I appreciate it very much.

      Thank you Snakeman
      I don't remember if I replaced the vent and I don't believe either of the dealers did. As I mentioned...I would think that the vent would be one of the priority check points for a dealer.
      At this point, I'll probably replace the vent and add the additional pickup line.
      Another person commented about the vent....apparently, it's an issue.
      Thank you for your help.. much appreciated.

      Aspen blue jug or the Stihl grey jug, alkylate fuel, with Saber oil.
      It gives you better performance, better throttle response, lifetime bearings, clean exhaust, temperature control, etc.
