Risky title I know. I really did my best to avoid making this video, but sometimes an idea nags you for month after month and you can't stop thinking about it, and when that happens it's sometimes best to trust your creative instinct and hope you aren't out of your mind. Of course sometimes you are out of your mind. And maybe I am. But that's not for me to say.
scrolled the comments before watching beyond the "unless u clock my makeup dickbag" now i have to brace myself for the psychic damage i'm about to take ...still worth it
I was once asked if I was gay since I brushed my teeth and washed my face. If that's what being gay is, then I don't wanna know what being straight is.
the last part of the video is on point. the 'is this gay' game is so exhausting. it becomes so much more freeing when you just stop giving a shit and learn who you are and what you're into. In fact exploring different things and being open to new feelings has confirmed my identity as a straight man to a much larger extent than freaking out over what is and isnt "gay." I think i'm pretty straight but sometimes I've felt like i'm "less straight" than other guys, but I think that's just me defining "straight" as 'insecure" lmao
Same here. If I have to classify myself I use the dreams I have. From 100 dreams about sex or relationships, 99 are with women and 1 is with a man. That looks pretty straight to me, why should I put any energy into denying the 1%? There are probably straights out there who get the 100% so I'm "less straight" than them, but who cares (also I doubt it because they are probably just in denial, haha).
I think that realizing that some of the things you were very anxious about are stupid and not worth of your sanity is part of the "growing up" process. There are nuances, of course. Teenagers and adult people of similar mindset *rebel.* They protest. They go into extremes. People who grow out of their fear and anxiety, they just... don't need to, they don't care. They can confront real issues instead, without working themselves up. It won't be a stretch to say, that for some stopping caring means fully embracing their bigotry instead, and starting to justify it... Happily, it's not the case for all of us.
I used to be bartender and for some reason, "What would you do if a gay man offered to buy you a drink?" was a common topic of conversation. Almost universally, the man to whom this question was posed would respond, "I'd kick his ass!" I'd always say "Couldn't you simply say 'no thank you'?" But apparently no. Even being offered a drink by a gay man must put gay cooties on you that can only be removed by punching.
sargoy shekelsberg not to #notallgays, but seriously- NOT ALL GAYS ARE LIKE THAT! Your hatred of gays because of a bad experience you had with one is the same prejudice that caused the holocaust and led to the murder of millions of innocent people.
If dating trans women is gay, then dating trans men is straight and I feel like most straight men wouldn't genuinely think that about like a hairy muscular trans man

Honestly I love the "fellas is it gay..." meme because at this point it's turned into making fun of guys who are overly sensitive about their masculinity. Like, is it gay to eat strawberries? I mean they got SEEDS in em??? at least that's the direction I've seen it go. And I'm proud that's where our society has gone
@Fan Fandom Oh it's fine! For the most part, people type like tHiS as a way of mocking something or someone. So, by me saying "aS a cIs fEmALe", I'm just poking fun at myself for stating my gender when it really isn't vital to enjoying the meme. Hope I've explained it ok! ^^"

@@Bibbers femboys are literally femenine boys. Many gays are into it, and some straight, bc as this video says, sexuality is complex, so it doesn't answer to a whole sexuality
@@cronchybo the vast majority of those people do it to gain validation from transphobic cis guys. For the same reason trans-positive porn gets significantly less views than trans porn where terms such as sissy or femboy are used, as despite being transphobic in this context, they're words often used by cis men to refer to trans women.
Hay, I actually saw this video on reddit, but had to come here to tell you this. I’m a bi man, and have always struggled with my sexuality because of social stigma and, I really don’t want to admit it, but, suppressed and internalized homophobia, and this video really spoke to me. I need to stop caring about what gender people are, and just go off how attracted to them I am. Thanks for making this!
Hey there, I too arrived here from Reddit. I'm a hetero flexible man who isn't attracted to men but is sexually open to penises, and who finds trans women attractive and would be open to dating one if the opportunity arose. I find this whole debate/scenario highly fascinating, and can understand both sides. On the one hand trans women want to be seen as women. On the other hand, men feel like they have a right to know if a woman is a bio woman or a trans woman when it comes to dating. Watching this video has certainly opened my eyes up some and shown me a bit of a broader angle, which was refreshing. But to deny that there are trans women that specifically enjoy the "trapping" of a cis straight male is disingenuous. Just like there are gay men that specifically target (nay, even fetishize?) straight men, with the delight of turning them "gay for a day". I appreciate her explaination of how attraction essentially is more based on the construct of gender as opposed to the biology/chromosomes. It makes sense. But you also can't deny the biology, even if what we see on the surface of dating/attraction is more based of our social cues of gender. Many men are attracted to larger breasts, which is a biological marker that has to do with reproduction, which has to do with having a viable womb. Taking biological hormone replacements to artificially induce a biological marker thats not "natural" is a form of false advertisement. If I walked around in a police uniform because I identify as copsexual, and you ran up to me cause you just got robbed, and found out I wasn't a sanctioned officer, you might be rightfully upset. I think it all boils down to consent. Sex needs to be about consent. If I'm getting to know a girl, and we are leading up to sex and we finally get to the point where we are about to have sex, and I discover she has a case of genital herpes, am I not within my right to not want to have sex with them, or to be turned off by them? And maybe even be upset that something like this wasn't disclosed earlier? I mean in the video she even brings up the point about preferences. We are allowed our preferences. Now of course, in my example, the girl having herpes does not make her any less of a person or I'm not at all in my rights to use violence on her or treat her like shit. That is never ok to do to anyone, trans women included. But you can see how some people might be upset by something like this, even to the point of getting violently angry. Why risk it? Why not be transparent and save everyone the guessing? Then you don't have to worry about someone liking you for who you are, because you will have been vulnerable and honest. Not every cis straight male is going to be ok with a penis, no matter how feminine. That needs to be ok.
@@petewiggins It's a social construct with many dimensions drawing on actual characteristic differences between the sexes, though. Some things are superficial and arbitrary, sure, but others are essentially culturally universal with obvious biological underpinnings. We know a lot about how testosterone modifies behaviour, for example, and it's all pretty conducive to the widespread norm that men display physical courage. And different cultures build on that in different in different ways, maybe natural combativeness gives way to ritualized combat which then gets nerfed and turned into a ceremonial dance performed by men. Obviously the behavioural effects of a sex hormone belong to the sex category, and obviously the dance is part of a social construct, but where do you draw the line? That's an easy, obvious example of what I see as a common trend, gender being built on top of and dependent on actual characteristic differences between the sexes. And if gender is dependent on something physical, on physiology itself, then it saying that it's a social construct fails to fully explain it.
@TheRandomhobo123 Cross the borders to the land of pansexuals! Where we don't really care about your gender nor your genitals and just love you for who you are 💕

Toxic Pretty sure guys with lesbian fetishes can just go watch porn or be creepy to the lesbian couple three doors down. Really highly doubt they’d go so far for a fetish, at least no more than a small handful which couldn’t amount to every trans lesbian.
There was a plot in The Sopranos where a man had to hide that he liked going down on his girlfriend because people would think he was gay. For going down on a woman. Everything is gay apparently.
I was hijacked/kidnapped by my male relatives and friends the night before I got married and taken to a club where women would dance provocatively for money. In the private dance area there were cubicle walls that separated the seats each man would sit in while the woman danced. One man was brought back there by the woman he had chosen and upon seeing that other men were enjoying the dancing of other women within the same general area declared, "This is gay!" and ran away with his literal cowboy hat on his head. The woman he was with tried to convince him that what was going on was the opposite of gay and everyone else where laughed about it because this guy was so wrapped up in his supposed masculinity that he couldn't even enjoy a lap dance because other men were nearby and might see him or be seen by him. Literally everything is gay.
I was told by a guy that washing your balls was "the gayest thing" because you were touching someone's balls. I remember just staring at him and wondering what the fuck.
As a non binary person with a vagina and tits since birth, who also likes women, vaginas are a gateway to hell. And man do I love it. Except for the periods. Fuck periods. P.S. Women are pretty, prove me wrong
Natalie Wynn is the best argument for the importance of philosophy in the modern era. Understanding, rather than blindly accepting, our own thoughts is important shit.
@MultiTarded I don't see you making any intellectually stimulating, visual intriguing video essays. Go ahead and try to produce an argument as persuasive or arousing as Natalie's. I'll wait.
The section about "the feminine penis" has been really, really helping me with my dysphoria. I still want a sex change but it's a lot easier to feel like a woman without it thanks to your words in this video. Thank you a lot.
@thatCapN Crunch damn yeah im in like a whole different place 8 months later and yeah nah im pretty much set for surgery. fuck this thing lol. but its nice only having 2 real sources of dysphoria now as opposed to like everything . a lot has changed in 8 months. ig the only thing to really do is work harder on my voice and/ or accept that it just is the way it is. 🤷♀️

Yeah, as a cis bi woman I agree with you on that. The next time a straight person says "gay" like an insult I'm just gonna smack em, I don't care anymore. I only realised I was bi like a year ago and I already have had so many comments that make me want to fucking hit someone. Good thing I'm too poor for fake nails 😂

Unless it's in self defence, in which case fuck em up.
As a bisexual woman ive made ir a habit to ask the straight men i date “have you ever questioned your sexuality?” And girls and gays let me tell you you will get to know them so much from their response to that question
Ooh, gonna write that down for if I start dating again. Honestly that's why I feel like I'd prefer to date bi guys. There just isn't so much of a risk of that potential insecurity
That’s ingenious! I tend to be wary about dating or even befriending cishet men but the few I can think of whom I like would not only be comfortable answering that question, but genuinely interested in discussing the topic with me. I can also confidently say that unfortunately most cishet men I’ve interacted with probably would NOT have a good reaction to the question.
@Another Millennial The reason Shapiro has any reputation is because he likes to talk fast and claim he has a source for everything, while knowing no one can fact-check him in the moment. If you really look at his beliefs (his opinion on trans surgeries vs. his opinion on circumcision for example) his 'facts don't care about feelings' rhetoric falls apart pretty quickly, and it becomes obvious that's he's just cashing in on people's ignorance and phobias.
@@Hedgemonkey5 that's why I like these structured videos better. In general, live debates are worse in actually uncovering a topic and reaching a meaningful conclusion. Especially if you have pseudointellectual dimwits like Shapiro who don't actually care about either of those things, instead they want to "win" the debate at all costs
@Another Millennial He refers to transgender surgeries as 'mutilation' while they have been shown to have a positive effect on the patient's mental health. He advocates circumcision, which has not been shown to have any medical benefit, and in fact is more likely to be detrimental to the patient overall. Clearly his *feelings* regarding his religion cloud his judgement of scientific *fact* , while he claims to champion the opposite. Is his adversarial behavior towards transgender people formed out of logic? Or from his dogmatic religious views? Is his stance formed from scientific understanding? Or does he misrepresent facts to support his pre-existing, religiously informed opinion?
@Another Millennial I'm glad you brought up some of Shaprio's lies, namely the false statements he makes about transgender suicide rates before and after transition. This also brings us right back around to the topic of no one checking his sources. Ben's claim that the suicide rate does not change after transition is *categorically untrue* . whatweknow.inequality.cornell.edu/topics/lgbt-equality/what-does-the-scholarly-research-say-about-the-well-being-of-transgender-people/ let's take a little excerpt from that study: "We conducted a systematic literature review of all peer-reviewed articles published in English between 1991 and June 2017 that assess the effect of gender transition on transgender well-being. We identified 56 studies that consist of primary research on this topic, of which 52 (93%) found that gender transition improves the overall well-being of transgender people, while 4 (7%) report mixed or null findings. " Guess which studies Ben chooses to cherry pick his 'facts' from. His whole following has this "if Shapiro says it, it must be true!" attitude that is really problematic, and really shows how someone with a fast mouth and confident persona can trick otherwise intelligent people into believing in them. You say he has no adversarial attitude towards transgender people, but he opposes the treatments that actually work, is rude and abusive for the sake of 'winning' an argument, and seems pretty obsessed with transgender issues while having no personal stake in them. Pretty weird hill to die on for someone who doesn't have an agenda.
Was watching this video in the background at work and my straight male coworker walked by, wolf whistled at you and went 'damm Evan what you watching' really demonstrates your point
Guarantee you that if you asked him outside of that situation if he thought Natalie was a man at birth he would say he could easily tell. (Not saying he couldn’t but that cis men generally don’t like admitting they are attracted to trans people)
Thank fucking god someone heard what was being said. Me too. I appreciate the framing that the conflict is internal to the cis male and that the trans woman is really a bystander in an internal inflict for the male.
@@thehill8353 Not only that, but accepting homosexuality means abandoning the healthy heteronormative values that lead to the sorts of relationships in which you'll actually want children. Sexuality is now seen first and foremost as a tool for self-gratification, and also something deeply personal, with family and children being optional and often unwanted byproducts. The personal nature means that people should be allowed to explore for themselves rather than feeling pressured by, say, the older generation who have already figured things out and learned the value of family. The old-fashioned way was better. Relationships/marriages are about love (or financial security, or duty and posterity) and sex is a happy little bonus that just so happens to make babies. Often babies themselves were the actual point and even if sex was the main focus for some people it's confined by marriage and results in a family. The individualism and hedonism that underlies the acceptance of gays undermines these more functional dynamics and turns even straight people into socially pointless fuck machines. That same individualism and hedonism then accepts into the country an unending flow of "fellow individuals" who are looking for a better life. And the hollowness of childless living is stuffed full of sympathy for little brown babies stuck in cages. It's simply not a morality that can survive and honestly I don't even know it if wants to. Edit: Also, the economic consequences. Being untethered by family and always vying for attention in the sexual market place means spending money to impress people. It drives insecurity. Being childless means being bored and unsatisfied and spending money to try and be otherwise. The economy turns toward supplying useless crap rather than raising children ie supplying the things people actually need to live. Also, 46% of homosexual men were molested as children compared to 7% of heterosexual men. What that suggests to me is that sexual orientation can be shaped by environment and that many who were "born this way" actually became that way through misdeeds of a sexually immoral society. And for identical twins when one twin is gay there's a 7-52% chance that the other will be gay depending on the study and sample. That's for men who share a genome, who shared the hormonal environment of the womb, who probably shared a house growing up and maybe shared the same creepy uncle, and only 52% concordance? It suggests that there are environmental influences and maybe even an element of choice involved in determining sexual orientation. If that's the case then creating a family-oriented heteronormative society doesn't oppress gays so much as it steers them on the right course. You know, the one with normal rates of suicide and drug addiction.

Hey, I know you probably won't see this comment but the progressive liberal who was superficially woke until their child came out as trans is a really relatable experience for me. My mum was extremely supportive of trans people when they just existed as a theoretical other or a person at work. But when I came out as a woman, she became very critical. Basically kept asking if I was doing it out of a kink and saying things like "you know, wearing dresses doesn't make you a woman" or "are you going to Montreal in drag?" It's very easy to support people you don't have to deal with every day. It's very easy to support someone when doing so means words instead of actions.
Sorry for momma drama - lord, they can be just as much of a trial on us as we ever were on them, right? Or bloody more. Hang in there, gur - she'll turn around one day and apologise for coming at you wrong, and she'll mean it right down to her bones. It sucks that you have to deal with the fallout in the mean time. But if she really crosses you one day, feel free to tell her the same - that one day, she'll be ashamed of her behaviour and the sooner that day comes, the better, because you'll always forgive her but it'll take longer to forget how much hurt she caused. Love from Scotland x
That's to be expected, especially in the case of an only child. Most people value their family and the continued family line, so the prospect of no grandchildren could easily be extremely shocking and worrying to parents.

If it is a mere affectation, the day will come when the mask comes off. We all should strive to be people of substance instead of people of affectation. Affectation is a performance piece for amusement and inflection, it is not an identity. Of course, I might identify as right handed but being right handed is not my identity. Being right handed is also the norm. A left handed people reveling in being not the norm is something I fully support as an affectation - as long as there is more to them than their left handedness. People looking for solid certainty in life are doomed to miserable disappointment. I also identify as a Whovian, but being a Whovian is not my whole identity. blackrave404 mental 3D chess is when I decide whether a topic’s answer is something I care about. Will the sun rise in the morning? Well is there really a morning if there is no sun? Will the sun rise tomorrow? If there is no sun, do we really have a tomorrow? We base the day not just on the spin of the earth, but that spin in relation so our path around the sun. Will the sun rise in the next 24hr? Not if it’s winter and you’re at the North Pole. Will the sun rise in 24hr at the equator? Idk, probably, but I’ll worry about that when we know sun hasn’t/won’t rise.
As someone in a Philosophy graduate program, I was shocked by this comment; because it is exactly, word for word, how I explain philosophical skepticism to people, and frankly I usually get a laugh from it, too (not the 3d chess part). The sentiment is this: There are three ways in which people respond to a nihilist/philosophical skepicist; 1. Philosophers who take the questions seriously and do the ground work explaining how their intuitions are philosophically ungrounded (me); 2. Confused people who get sucked in and become nihilists themselves; and 3. Regular people who just tell the nihilist to shut the fuck up. So, 1 and 3 are the only proper ways in which to respond, however, unfortunately it is difficult to do 1 without having first been sucked in to 2.

My last big, serious (now ex) girlfriend is trans. Loved her to bits. This video really got me thinking about the mouthfeel. More importantly, it made me think about how I needed to stand up to a bigoted uncle of mine who kept making snide, passive-aggressive comments in her direction when she wasn't around. Don't be like me, people. Don't be cowardly.
I don't blame you. That shit is just as scary for us, and it's not something we're prepared for at all having never experienced it before. Despite what people say, you're not less of a man for not knowing how to handle the situation.
@Kyla Johnston said uncle is a Breitbart trog, and he still lives with my grandparents. I couldn't really cut him off at the time, but I should have. I should have done *something,* is my point. People can't take the easy path and only stick up for people when they're around. Cis men DEFINITELY shouldn't do that.
@@megaalan12 I kinda feel for you but honestly it's so second degree. Imagine a transpeople coming out, constantly coming out facing the looks of random people who happen to catch the wrong angle of you, family rejection and core identity questioned constantly. Now figure some close friends and family will know and might be uncomfortable but while you are at work, or in line for fast food you are still a cis hetero man. Even thoughs who might ignorantly question your sexuality still see you at the end of the day as male. Trans people don't get guide books on how to handle adversity either and that is called "the closet". I've recently become a fan. Initially I was one of those super "free thinkers" that were fans of Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson. Mainly because of the stable structure and support I got from Jordan advice to young men, since a lot of my growing up journey involved chaos and crazy acid trips that just made the process a lot more confusing so being told things that seem right and logical was reassuring. But after then I came across your channel, which at first I passed off as some SJW bullshit. However I stayed for the aesthetic visuals and I'm sure glad I did. It sure opened me up to whole new way of thinking and made me realize how stupid I was for thinking I had understood reality and mostly importantly myself. After I watched your video "why I quit academia" it really made me think and reevaluate why I was so into philosophy in the first place. I guess i felt that some truth and guidance was given to me by reading Nietzsche and Satre, and when you're a teen in high school it means everything to you. As I now I am just a few months from graduating high school, I'm thankful that I found this channel and was introduced to these kind of ideas and concepts. I feel like these video really have helped me prepare in way for the real world, or at least a better understanding that I shouldn't label myself to just one side because ideas can change and it's always good to be open minded of other people. Anyway, I'm glad I stayed I stayed for the aesthetics and would like to thank you for making these video and for simply existing. I know how tough just plainly being a human is, so opening yourself to the world being the kind of person you are is what I find to be true courge. Hope to see more amazing long and well put together videos like these. You always look flawless in all your video btw
Good for you for being intellectually curious enough to seek out different points of view. You have a long and interesting life ahead, and a truly open mind is an asset.
I wish this video also touched more on lesbian trans women and their partners. I am a cis lesbian dating a trans lesbian and I get the same problem in reverse. People are frequently telling me that I am not really a lesbian because I am dating a trans woman. It's all the same transphobic nonsense.
I've heard this referred to as Schrodinger's marriage by someone on twitter. "Conservatives tell me that my marriage isn't legitimate because they oppose two women being married. While at the same time, calling me a man (in which case, there's no problem here.)"

A guy recently got mad at me on PlayStation online because he liked playing with me until I told him I was transgender. He thought I should have told him from the jump but I told him I only tell people my business if it’s something that can end up in some form of sexuality, I speak up, as I did. He started calling me “dude” and told me he wouldn’t tell the rest of our online “crew” but to never bring it up or act female around him. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

@Smash 456 I was like that once, I would say it's not closed-mindedness it's a crippled psyche from toxic male role models that you internalize. The worst part is, you do not realize how much you are hurting yourself and in consequence also others until it's too late. For me that meant drinking heavily and going through a suicide attempt. PS.: being pegged feels soooooooooooo god :)
I tend to have this conversation with other black men about the surplus that's placed on masculinity in the culture. It's horseshit and dangerous when coupled with people who may have been raised around violence.
i'm a straight, cis gendered female and I was very attracted to natalie before her transition. I still love her, and wanna be best friends with her, but I am not attracted in the same way anymore, because I am sexually attracted to men. Her chromosomes are still the same, so I am living proof it is indeed about perception. And being attracted to Natalie is just unavoidable anyway. LOVE YOU QUEEN!
Perception is also the point het men are making when they say they prefer female-born women with vaginas, thus why it's an issue for them. I've noticed the idea of acceptance and understanding flies out the window when they try to find someone who meets their preferences. This isn't helping people accept each other's differences.

@@RT...... I am not OP, but I have a similar experience. I was a right winger a few years ago too, and content creators like Contra, Shaun, Second thought etc helped me shift perspective. It is definitely an interesting experience, since the common right wing discourse is both very familiar and foreign at the same time. When I see the trap discussion, for example, I can really feel the insecurity I used to feel. At times, you are literally on edge, worried about not appearing manly enough. If I scroll many years back on my twitter account, I am sure I would find many things I could not stand by now. Amongst other things, I was the guy who would be like "well, what about men" on posts where women vent about their problems. Just about all of this, at least in my case, stemmed from insecurity coupled with ignorance. The one perspective I do lack, which is often found in right wing circles, is the religious aspect, as I was never religious. Perhaps that made for an easier transition for me.
Nat, I first came to your videos looking for a circle jerk to affirm my own beliefs, but you’ve helped me be much more open minded about having actual discussions. I rly like these types of comments. On most of her vids I don't start out on one side or another, just generally misinformed but I like how ppl contribute to an argument while accepting the other side.
Ok, so story time about how this channel fundamentally shifted something in me: As a lesbian that has known I was in deep for as long as I've had a brain, the thing about "girl dicks" just took a huge huge HUGE chunk of self doubt I've had for literal YEARS away. I never liked men. I look at them with the same level of romatic/sexual interest one would look a puppy or a lamp. They might be nice, nice to have around, to look at too, but nah. Nothing happens. No ditto. But then there's dicks. And it was always this sort of Inside Out congress inside my head where my brain would alrgue with itself to the point of exaustion- you like straps. You think women who use straps are hot. What about... The real thing? What if a woman had it? Would you like it too? And here's the honest answer I never had the courage to give people in general, because they already think it's just A Phase and I don't want them to give me funny looks: yes. Yes I would. Are you kidding? Is a warm strap with feelings! One that my partner can sense through! Of course it's hotter than plastic or silicone or that one time my ex got bright ideas about using one made of glass that almost made me shit myself in fear?? Ok. Too much info, sorry. Back on track, point is: I think my prejudice against dating trans women in general was What About The D. God forbid anyone thinks I like guys in any way other than platonicaly (of course, no shade to my bi and straight sisters but nope. Not for me). So I had a whole other level of the Are ""Traps"" Gay conundrum, as in are they gay enough? Will liking them, as well as their d change such a huge part of who I see myself as a person? Am I bi and biphobing my way out of biness?? To quote Natalie'a fan: No. I still think masculinity as a vibe is absolutely me-repelent, but there's more to manhood and womanhood than just genitals. This perception of trans women and myself just hammered that concept of constructivism down - turns out I'm attracted to femininity, whatever package it may come in. And before gold stars and terfs come to pinch my butt cheeks for giVinG LeSbiAnS A BaD nAMe: I am talking about myself. Every lesbian is different and perceives things differently. Some will sympathise with me, some won't and that's ok. But I don't accept anyone calling me anything but a lesbian JUST because of this, which I now consider to be a minor detail to the whole of my attraction instead of a problem.
Yeah, there's more to sexual attraction and romantic attraction (which is a different thing) than just sex organs. What you said about being attracted to femininity makes sense
Genuine question. If femininity is what you are attracted to then would it be more for "gay" for you to have sex with a "femboy" or butch lesbian with muscles, body hair and broad-ish shoulders? By femboys I am refering to guys or men that are extremely femine in terms of their body. And not the slur that is used against trans women. The question is how femine or masculine in terms of appearance and body does a person who one is attracted to have to be in order for it to be gay or straight? I personally don't know how much a persons genital(s) affect my attraction but I do know that when it comes to appearance, femine traits turn me on and masculine traits turn me off. The thing that would make trans women gay for straight man might not be what is between their legs, but a square jaw, broad shoulders and muscles insertions / shapes.
@@jonasstrzyz2469 That's a great way to put it. But I think the word "trap" inherently assumes that the trans woman in question is "passing" as a woman (indistinguishable in appearance from cis women). More than body language / composure (acting "masculine" or "feminine"), this would imply that she looks like a cis woman (in terms of clothing style, body types, facial features, and hairstyle). So really, I think this video is mostly about trans women who "pass" and "trap" straight men, more than about trans women who can be "clocked", or about femboys. (in case it wasn't clear, I don't like using the terminology that transphobes use, but am only trying to enter their POV)
@@pranavflame That is fair. My only criticism would be that if "trap" is replaced with "passing trans woman" - it should be made explicitly clear and non-passing trans women should be addressed as well. Natalie only compared the "male" aspect of trans women, which is feminised penis. But because this video is about passing trans women - which is by definition required for someone to be a "trap" - I can understand why she did not adress the question of non-passing trans women. I think that "trans women are women" by itself is overly simplistic and leads to a logical conclusion that most people are not really willing to accept. I do understand why that slogan exists. And agree that for most intents and purposes trans women should be recognized and treated as women by society. If "trans women are women" and straight men are attracted to women, then why should straight men not date trans women? And non-passing trans women are still trans women. After a all, it is not gay for a man to date a woman. I don't believe that you or Natalie or trans women who touch grass have this position. But with self ID being a real thing that people unironicaly defend and terminally online Twitter lefties being a thing... Well, I kind of think that is an important clarification to add.
@@jonasstrzyz2469 I can agree that even leftist discourse needs more nuance about the differences between physical anatomy, internal identity, and external expression. Society needs better vocabulary all around; or rather needs to use the existing vocabulary better. The way I see it, the solution is simple: (a) male/female/intersex should ONLY refer to the 3 categories of physical anatomy (b) man/woman/non-binary should ONLY refer to the 3 categories of internal gender identity (c) masculine/feminine/gender-non-conforming(?) should ONLY refer to the 3 categories of external expression. Maybe language shouldn't be prescriptive. But preventing the intermixing of these 3 distinct concepts certainly avoids any ambiguity, and it still allows "trans (wo)men are (wo)men" to be a sensible thing to say.
Something I didn't expect to gain from this is a new level of connection to my brother who is dating a trans woman. He is very protective of her for the obvious reason: he loves her; but I never thought about the stigma that might be placed on his shoulders.
Wait wait wait, if Contra couldn't show her chest on RUclips wouldn't that be an admittance by American society that she's female? By default men's chests are allowed in all forms of visual media. I rest my case.
Mike O'Barr I do not have an opinion on whether or not trans people are the gender in which they claim, but it was her choice to not show them and not youtube.
RUclips's decision to do anything isn't any form of societal admission. How in the flying fuck did you manage to equate a private company's decisions and views with an entire society's?
@@totlyepic Because any decision RUclips makes is not made in a vacuum, and any criteria they base their decisions on can be traced back to societal standards. Put simply, RUclips demonetises a video when its content is not advertiser friendly, and the general consensus being that a man's naked chest is not offensive, while a woman's is. So if RUclips demonetises a video because it contents images of that trans woman's chest, that would imply a recognition on RUclips's part of that trans woman's womanhood.
This probably isn't the piece of this video you expected that many people to fixate on, but can I just say, as someone who has felt zero dysphoria about her genitals, it actually really does mean a lot to see someone come forward and say so confidently that a woman with a penis is still a woman? I dunno, maybe I'll feel different about my body whenever I properly leave the closet, guns blazing, rather than "this is my name and pronouns in private company" but as it stands now, in a bizarre way that's probably the only thing I haven't felt dysphoria over, and it's also been a huge red flag in my mind about "not being real" because of it, so a very upfront "Women with penises are still women" on such a large platform was... Really comforting to hear. Great vid in general. Title had me worried, but I love the respect you brought to this risky discussion. Keep up the good work.
women with penises are still women, and are just as much women as women who used to have a penis or women who were born with a vagina. i also like my dick too, you're not alone ^_^
even as a trans man with no genital dysphoria this meant a lot to me too. so often as trans people we're told genital dysphoria is a necessary part of being trans, and to see others, especially someone like natalie, publicly and upfront, that she's comfortable with her genitals is such a breath of fresh air
But that's not for me to say.

the last part of the video is on point. the 'is this gay' game is so exhausting. it becomes so much more freeing when you just stop giving a shit and learn who you are and what you're into.
Gender is just a social construct, a statistic. I prefer to call people people
@@petewiggins It's a social construct with many dimensions drawing on actual characteristic differences between the sexes, though.

Ben Shapiro owned with FACTS and MOUTHFEEL
*m o u t h f e e l*
Ben's claim that the suicide rate does not change after transition is *categorically untrue* .
whatweknow.inequality.cornell.edu/topics/lgbt-equality/what-does-the-scholarly-research-say-about-the-well-being-of-transgender-people/
let's take a little excerpt from that study:
"We conducted a systematic literature review of all peer-reviewed articles published in English between 1991 and June 2017 that assess the effect of gender transition on transgender well-being. We identified 56 studies that consist of primary research on this topic, of which 52 (93%) found that gender transition improves the overall well-being of transgender people, while 4 (7%) report mixed or null findings. "
Guess which studies Ben chooses to cherry pick his 'facts' from.

@@thehill8353 Fuck You,
True

Basically kept asking if I was doing it out of a kink and saying things like "you know, wearing dresses doesn't make you a woman" or "are you going to Montreal in drag?" Sean Hannity does that constantly
blackrave404 mental 3D chess is when I decide whether a topic’s answer is something I care about.

I rly like these types of comments. On most of her vids I don't start out on one side or another, just generally misinformed but I like how ppl contribute to an argument while accepting the other side.
Ok, so story time about how this channel fundamentally shifted something in me:
As a lesbian that has known I was in deep for as long as I've had a brain, the thing about "girl dicks" just took a huge huge HUGE chunk of self doubt I've had for literal YEARS away.
@@pranavflame
That is fair.
If "trans women are women" and straight men are attracted to women,
then why should straight men not date trans women? And non-passing trans women are still trans women. After a all, it is not gay for a man to date a woman.
I don't believe that you or Natalie or trans women who touch grass have this position. But with self ID being a real thing that people unironicaly defend and terminally online Twitter lefties being a thing... Well, I kind of think that is an important clarification to add.
@@jonasstrzyz2469 I can agree that even leftist discourse needs more nuance about the differences between physical anatomy, internal identity, and external expression. Society needs better vocabulary all around; or rather needs to use the existing vocabulary better. The way I see it, the solution is simple:
(a) male/female/intersex should ONLY refer to the 3 categories of physical anatomy
(b) man/woman/non-binary should ONLY refer to the 3 categories of internal gender identity
(c) masculine/feminine/gender-non-conforming(?) should ONLY refer to the 3 categories of external expression.
Checkmate... athiests?
Mike O'Barr I do not have an opinion on whether or not trans people are the gender in which they claim, but it was her choice to not show them and not youtube.
RUclips's decision to do anything isn't any form of societal admission. How in the flying fuck did you manage to equate a private company's decisions and views with an entire society's?
@@justicedunham4088 Well, you called her by her proper pronoun, so you're at least benign in your neutrality.
