Also mine, it's the music from Diagon Alley in the PS2 version. I never knew it was composed by Jeremy Soule though. Two favourite games done by him, Skyrim and Harry Potter
I love the fact that the game's soundtrack is way more mystic and mysterious than the movie's. I remember that the songs used to scare me a lot, It used to give me goosebumps at the time. it's magic! Jeremy Soule is a god.
Omg 7:38.. That music takes me back to my childhood.. I can't describe the feeling that it gives me but it's beautiful. It brings so much memories back.. It makes me feel both nostalgic and sad. I miss those days..
18:30 gives me fucking chills every time I hear it. Jeremy Soule captured the heart and soul of Harry Potter so perfectly. It doesn't even have to sound like Skyrim and Morrowind music. It's recognizable as Harry Potter music, and that's amazing.
I put him up there with the all time greats when it comes to video game composers. Most people don't recognize his name as much as the classic Japanese video game composers.
I kept thinking about 7:38 (Ambient) today in a nostalgic manner. It's weird how past memories can pop up suddenly after a decade at least, but still seem as vivid as when they were first experienced.
+future4zinc This song is almost haunting for me. I heard it a few days ago and it was really moving. Even that I'm sixteen and played the game not as long ago as you. But takes me back to childhood without taking me back. The beggining of the song specially makes me feel weird.
Heitor Massola I remember coming back to this game 2 years after trying to play it when it came out, and I ended up damn near completing the entire game. Especially getting into the areas you can only access from unrepeatable levels. Good times 😭
+x-Tardis-Blue-x I always got so stressed in the Bean Bonus Room, because I wanted to collect every single bean and never could. :( But it was still awesome. And in the third game, they had pumpkin pasties and cauldron cakes in the room as well!

Unfortunately I'm listening to it so much now that it's lost most of that magical feel :( But yeah, when I found this OST a year ago, the first time since ~2005 and this particular track started I just stopped doing everything, closed my eyes and listened.

ikr :D when i was a kid i was terrified when i had to go to a 2nd floor, right when you land from the moving staircases, you start walking a long hallway, music changes to this creepyass one and you can see in the distance writtings in blood, scary af :)

12:55 This composer man... I mean this was played in a simple scene where you are just kind of rushed inside the castle by Ron but just hear how much care was put into this. Today I see it as the first time you get to see that castle in the distance, you're far from home going into a world that has so much ready for you to explore and learn, but at 13:43 you're reminded that not all of those things are good, beyond that, something insidious, twisted and malignant is waiting inside for the right moment to strike. When I played this as a kid I never really noticed how good the soundtrack was but today this is by far the best soundtrack to a game or movie ever made, *without ever using the main Harry Potter theme song once* Oh and 9:43 had no business being this scary, I swear I almost had a heart attack every time that started to play, and as soon as it did start in that hallway leading to the bathroom I never ever went there again unless I absolutely had to. That hallway is scarier than the entire Overlook Hotel from The Shining.
I feel like that hallway part is the best definition of a liminal space. That unfathomable sense of something being extremely wrong, and NO ONE is around. And this terrifying music. It just made me shit my pants in childhood. Damn.
It's so good. I listen to this every year or so and that part always stands out since it's so unnecessarily beautiful. It won't happen, but I still hope Jeremy Soule does the HBO show
I love the night song. 46:25 It starts off all sinister, you have no idea what hides in the shadows, but as you explore you realize just how peaceful the castle grounds are at night, and it drifts into that peaceful tone. 47:11

I like how you can see Jeremy Soule exploring new things in each of these Potter soundtracks. In _Stone,_ he focused on composing themes and moods, many that he would continue to use in the following entries. He didn’t have access to many musicians for that project, so he recorded most of the soundtrack himself on orchestra software. With _Chamber,_ Soule mostly dwelt on improving the themes that worked while spending more time composing new themes using the lessons he’d learned after the first game. While some pieces are less memorable, nothing sticks out as odd, like the first game’s “Phoenix”/“Gnomes” track (a great piece, but kind of an oddball in the soundtrack as a whole). Also, Soule had a live orchestra to record this time around, breathing new life into familiar themes and fleshing out the music throughout the game. What stands out to me about the _Prisoner_ score is the scale. While this soundtrack borrows the most from the previous games, the new versions and new compositions emphasize the highs and lows of the adventure. Big, sweeping themes; an epic choir; and more prominent, varied percussion heighten the drama in this darker plot. Elsewhere, slinky clarinets, moody cellos, comforting bassoons, and quietly screeching strings bring life to the quiet, tense moments.
@@fryta3218 You're goddamn right dude... Same feeling for me. It seems like it was yesterday I played this game. And I keep coming back to the OST every now and then
One of the few games EA didn't fuck up entirely. This is production value! One could argue that this game is still worth it's original price. So much love, unreal engine and music... The latest Harry Potter games really are a shame compared to this.
This game was probably the most exciting one for me because it improved all the things that made the first one great without changing the formula too much. I loved the fact that I could finally roam the castle & the gardens freely. The third one was still bloody awesome, even if the castle changed a bit from the first two games. However, the fourth "game".... Goblet of Shit, tbh.
The Doctor 2006 Honestly, it's been a while since I've played it myself. I don't think I gave it another try after playing it in 2005. It may not be a bad game per se, it's just that as a Harry Potter game - it diverged from what what people expected & enjoyed too much. I'm still not quite sure what happened. It's as if EA attempted to reboot the franchise in order to appeal to an older crowd (since most of the fans who were growing up with Harry were in their teens at that point). In terms of the PC version, it fared pretty badly in comparison to the other platforms - it has 66/100 on Metacritic. Do play it though, there's always the possibility you may enjoy it!
+bossfight1 Maybe that'a because we just didn't realise it sucked... I still had a great time with this game! But I feel like I'd say otherwise nowadays
+The ZenOne I think the first two games were actually really, really great for movie licensed games. Like even going back to them now, they're massively immersive with amazing soundtracks and solid (though obviously dated) gameplay. Most licensed games now are done on a mega low budget without much care put into them at all.
ARCANA maybe it's because the game more content from the book? I remember watching the movie and playing the game and wondering where the heck was Peeves in the movie...
+Shinyhunterlobo and ShinyhunterRaven Actually the games were made to capitalize on the movies, but they had to get a lot of their material from the books because the movies weren't out yet. But things like the characters' voices and appearances are still based on the movies.
I couldn't remember why I was excited for Harry as Goyle (1:21:45) to start playing, but I could remember that the music was kinda silly and I enjoyed it. Then I got there and the theremin kicked in and my heart was happy. :D Thanks for this trip down memory lane. Ambient and Happy Hogwarts are some of _the_ most nostalgic tunes of all time for me.
I remember this game being one of the first games I played that wasn't online and, therefore, had to be saved. For the first two months, I didn't save my games as I wasn't aware that this was a feature and I had to restart every time. I knew the rictus-sempra (or whatever it's called) dungeon by heart. The nostalgia man...why did they stop making open world HP games after the 3rd?
+Jakedesnake97 When I was little, I always used to avoid the save books, so there were many parts (particularly the Rictusempra challenge, and the four polyjuice-related levels) that I always had to do over and over again. I totally know what you mean!
+GreenCauldron08 I don't know why, but I always loved the bicorn horn level in the dungeons (although the maze where you have to flipendo the switches to change the walls always frustrated me). I guess I always loved grabbing the gnomes in that level and throwing them into the potion pools. lol
+Eric Young I've spent hours at a time playing with those gnomes! I bet I've found at least five glitches in that pre-maze area alone, just from derping around so much.
+Jakedesnake97 _"why did they stop making open world HP games after the 3rd?"_ They didn't. HP 5 and 6 have open world video game versions. Both are pretty good, though they no longer have "dungeon" challenges.
Oh wow the nostalgia rush from this! Wow it's like I can remember turning on our old boxy computer and running this after waiting for what seemed like ages of loading. Then I find out as an adult this soundtrack was by none other than my favorite Elder Scrolls and KOTOR composer Jeremy Soule! Just... WOW.
1:49:15-1:49:20- Ron: Come on, Harry! This is it! Harry: I know... If I remember correctly, Ron sounded excited, despite the fact that they were likely heading for their death. Plus this was his sister's life on the line. Despite that bit of seemingly off color dialogue, the soundtrack for the opening of the Chamber of Secrets was perfect IMO, all grim, dark, and gritty.
It's flawless because it was all Jeremy Soule :) I love his Harry soundtracks. Thanks indeed for putting this together! Is your name a reference to the Green Cauldron track?
I remember ages ago playing Skyrim for the first time wondering why the music felt so nostalgic and then I did some research and found out that Jeremy Soule made this sountrack too. Then it all clicked together. This ost was brilliant.
I feel blessed that the Harry Potter PC games as well as Morrowind were some of my favorites as a kid. Jeremy Soule wrote the soundtrack to my childhood.
I get more nostalgic listening to the game soundtrack than when I listen to the soundtrack of the movies. I remember playing this game was so hard and scary at times. The soundtrack brings me back in time. My father reading us the books for the first time, lying on the couch of the living room. Almost every night we would hear a chapter. It was magical. Now I long back to that time as it was more carefree, pure and innocent. Harry Potter is the biggest fictional influence of my childhood and it will always be a reminder of exactly that.
1:16:00 this music from Dumbledore’s Office just literally gives you pure nostalgia of playing hp2 and everything feels magic and unseen for you. That’s the gold
1:49:47 gives me chills to do this day. Such a perfect song for one of the last locations. Somehow it represents both challenge and the fact you're playing as a kid and there's will be more serious stuff after this location and in the future of the series. It's not dark or super threatening.
The movies captured the “hero” in Harry Potter. It screams bravery and magic, but THIS! This really captures the everyday mystic and magic of the wizard world like nothing else. It’s so unbelievably cool
I miss Jeremy's music in last years, he is really capable! He made a fantastic job in scoring HP games, it's very catchy and moody stuff with various original motives. I loved the walking across the Hogwarts just for hearing the great music he done. Same like John William's music he can get you to another dimension and surround with melancholic soundscapes.
26/06/17 20 Years of Harry Potter, the magic is forever, timeless. Jeremy Soule is a genius, who has not dreamed of being in Hogwarts after hearing his magic songs ? Beautiful magic.
I always turned around and then jumped on the table in the middle of the common room and watched all the Slytherins who were running against it. that was funny XD and then with the crowd behind me I ran out of there
Dear me, nostalgia hit me hard, this brought me back to my kid´s childhood. I used to hear this music forever from their room, and finally gave up and started to play as well. I do not play any other games (although my girls now keep on tempting me to try Assassin´s Creed or Skyrim), but this one is pure magic for me. Thank you.
*The soundtrack just truly made this game for me!* Just beautiful, especially when playing it. It just gave you such a feel of each environment, especially wondering around Hogwarts.
1:59:45 I've always wondered why such a sad sounding piece of music played after you've killed the game's main boss, let alone one that was so dangerous.
came here after playing the game 5th time, and found out comments which are 7-8 years old! that shows how this game has impacted our childhood in all the ways
Thank you so so much, Jeremy Soule is amazing, this video bringed me back to the naive happiness *(^_^)* ... Not so long ago I got hooked up on Elder scrolls morrowind soundtrack and noticed striking resemblance with Harry Potter ost.. Its great to hear Jeremy Soule growing to the level he has shown in Skyrim ost ... 😊
With the studio not having rights for the movie soundtrack it's pretty impressive how they dealt with the task to make music which 'isn't Harry Potter but sounds like Harry Potter'
I prefer these to the movies' soundtracks because they did a better job developing between books. The second movie is one of Williams' laziest scores, probably since he was doing Attack of the Clones, and the third movie jettisons all continuity to the first two both visually and with the OST
I love it ! The game was part of my Childhood and music and visuals of it were awesome ! I replayed it recently and loved the whole adventure again ! I especially like the music at 16:20 ;)
This hits hard, man how fast time flies, 7:38 was randomly stuck in my head and i remember how much i used to watch my big bro play this and me too, the nostalgia feels great but sad

You're Spying true
+You're Spying I couldn't agree more.
laracroftvideos haven't played the 4th in a few yrs still looking in my house for it and is the 4th really that bad pc wise?
@@laracroftvideos k found the 4th game to be absolute garbage. It didn't just feel the same. What a trainwreck
There actually used to be a time when a movie tie-in video game actually didn't automatically suck. (Sigh) Good times, good times.
+bossfight1 actually none of the games are based on the movies, they're all based on the books
+Shinyhunterlobo and ShinyhunterRaven Actually the games were made to capitalize on the movies, but they had to get a lot of their material from the books because the movies weren't out yet. But things like the characters' voices and appearances are still based on the movies.
Masterpiece
30:29
This game music really makes it feel like the game is taking the player seriously.
Which is especially important for young gamers 👌
20:55 wow the feels hit me hard!
I couldn't remember why I was excited for Harry as Goyle (1:21:45) to start playing, but I could remember that the music was kinda silly and I enjoyed it. Then I got there and the theremin kicked in and my heart was happy. :D
Thanks for this trip down memory lane. Ambient and Happy Hogwarts are some of _the_ most nostalgic tunes of all time for me.
Lol, it happened again. That theremin is perfection. Love love love it so much.
Totally didn't realise that was a theremin! Now I know why it's so awesome xD
I just woke up and that music started playing in my head randomly lmao
1:57:49 i was like 8 when i played this game and when i listened to this it was so epic...
Btw this one is one of my favorites in the game.
The films are brilliant, but it's the first three games which seem to give me the most significant nostalgia.
+GreenCauldron08 Lol, that's funny! :)
+Jakedesnake97 _"why did they stop making open world HP games after the 3rd?"_
They didn't.
Just... WOW.
1:49:15-1:49:20-
Ron: Come on, Harry!
One of the best OSTs I've heard in my life.
This is amazing!! I've been looking so long for some of these. The music in the first three games is just flawless. Thank you so much!
You're very welcome! I really like these soundtracks too.
It's flawless because it was all Jeremy Soule :) I love his Harry soundtracks. Thanks indeed for putting this together!
Is your name a reference to the Green Cauldron track?
Seth Byrnes Your welcome :) and yes, it is. Green Cauldron 08 was my favourite track in the Harry games.
+GreenCauldron08 lol I just went to search it and I go down in the comments and you were the only one.
1:57:50 - If someone is still not convinced that music for this game and Skyrim was composed by the same man.
Bonus Bean room is even more convincing 36:34
That percussion and brass...
it's like a prelude to "Dragonborn"
@@dreambrush7251 Oh yeah.
1:49:49 Best soundtrack ever in history, everytime I here it, brilliant
I remember ages ago playing Skyrim for the first time wondering why the music felt so nostalgic and then I did some research and found out that Jeremy Soule made this sountrack too. Then it all clicked together. This ost was brilliant.
Jeremy Soule? The same guy who made soundtrack for Morrowind? Gosh, he's a pure genius
Man, this must be the first time I've heard this since the second or third grade, I'm getting some crazy nostalgia.
Came here to heard "Ambient", what a beautiful memories
Its been so long and we still come back to this masterpiece both the music and the game was so good, i really miss these times 🥲
The movies don't capture much of anything after the first 3. They're not magical and they completely miss the themes of the books
Jeremy Soule and Jesper Kyd are, in my book, the best video game composers ever.
This is delightful. I was such a fan of these three first HP games growing up. So happy these videos exist, to listen while I write. Thanks!
26/06/17 20 Years of Harry Potter, the magic is forever, timeless. Jeremy Soule is a genius, who has not dreamed of being in Hogwarts after hearing his magic songs ? Beautiful magic.
At 1:26:36 Something's not right! PROFESSOR SNAPE!!!! At that moment I always say: Oh no, WE HAVE GOT TO GO........
+Christopher Greenland That part always stressed me out so much. Haha. :)
+Sarah Miller When I was little, I was so scared of that part I always got my dad to do it for me.
Sarah Miller hahaha same
I always turned around and then jumped on the table in the middle of the common room and watched all the Slytherins who were running against it. that was funny XD and then with the crowd behind me I ran out of there
@@GreenCauldron08 😂😂 thats so cute
Thank you so much ! I still play this game on an old computer, it's still a real pleasure.
You can download it onto newer computers if you get the right files. They're free online somewhere
No one talking about 24:13? That's truly a masterpiece, could be as well composed by Mozart.
Thank you for this. Listening while doing work and it's pumping up my serotonin levels
Exactly
Everytime i hear the Hogwards theme, i want to cry how i miss my childhood....
this game is underatted in every sense of the word
This game has such a wonderful soundtrack.
9:42 makes me shiver.
Day wander gives me the most nostalgia. :) 20:52 It's literally my childhood song.
Jeremy Soule sure surprises me everytime.
JEREMY SOULE!!! THATS why this music was so good! I never knew
Thank you.
1:21:45 my favorite track :)
Adonay Rocha mine too
*The soundtrack just truly made this game for me!* Just beautiful, especially when playing it. It just gave you such a feel of each environment, especially wondering around Hogwarts.
1:59:45 I've always wondered why such a sad sounding piece of music played after you've killed the game's
main boss, let alone one that was so dangerous.
that was peaceful
came here after playing the game 5th time, and found out comments which are 7-8 years old! that shows how this game has impacted our childhood in all the ways
7:38 Childhood memories! I love this theme!
I want to cry, one of the best video game of all times
With the studio not having rights for the movie soundtrack it's pretty impressive how they dealt with the task to make music which 'isn't Harry Potter but sounds like Harry Potter'
I prefer these to the movies' soundtracks because they did a better job developing between books. The second movie is one of Williams' laziest scores, probably since he was doing Attack of the Clones, and the third movie jettisons all continuity to the first two both visually and with the OST
I love it ! The game was part of my Childhood and music and visuals of it were awesome ! I replayed it recently and loved the whole adventure again ! I especially like the music at 16:20 ;)
Attention to detail by screenshottimg where the music plays is incredible
my all time favorite begins at 7:38
Best harry potter game ever made
These tracks became like a hub of nostalgia
This hits hard, man how fast time flies, 7:38 was randomly stuck in my head and i remember how much i used to watch my big bro play this and me too, the nostalgia feels great but sad
More than a soundtracks, it's a part of childhood.
When producers don't pressure you for a deadline and allow you to put your love into the game...
These soundtracks (first 3 games for PC)while I was playing them made me feel like I was actually inside Hogwarts, this is so well made
nothing can beat the level of nostalgia in this one. it feels like my heart sinks every time a song starts
