Such a Great Song - this is truly fine writing and Lou Reed delivers - Yes So Revalent
I was at Farm Aid 1990. Seeing Lou Reed was amazing. Check off my bucket list. Great performance.

Such a conflicting yet relevant song

Sheer poetry....The last verse says it all...Genius...
Repeating a cliche is genius?

Thanks to you Lou man you rock.
I respect him.
God bless u Lou, keeping it real freedom of speech
local yokel from the NRA , Lou sings. I thought this was lame when I saw it back then, but I appreciate it now.
He has a way of entering your consciousness in a roundabout way, like he knows you'd never get it if it happened directly.
Great inference.
Yet you still don't get it

Only Lou could do such a misanthropic song at a charity gig
Guess you're not familiar with Bob Dylan ;)
I love songs that explore the nature of human weaknesses with such literacy. Love Johnny Cashbox's version of this great song too.

And Bob Dylan got the Nobel? go figure, he should turn up and sing walk on the wild side!
Bob Dylan is the great american fool. Lou Reed is its poet.
The Nobel committees are simply worthless and pointless pricks. Shame on them.
