Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord. The readings for the Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord tell of the revelation of Jesus Christ to all people.
In the first reading from the prophet Isaiah, we hear the prophecy that the glory of the Lord will shine upon His people, and the nations will come to this light. The glory of God is not limited to a particular group or nation; it is meant for everyone. This is a reminder of God's invitation to all people to come and experience His love and salvation. We are called to be the bearers of this light, shining forth the glory of God to all those around us.
The Psalm echoes this sentiment, as it speaks of God's justice and mercy being extended to all nations. It is a prayer for God's blessings to be poured out on all people, irrespective of their backgrounds or circumstances. As followers of Christ, we are called to embody this mercy and compassion, reaching out to all people and sharing the blessings we have received.
In his letter to the Ephesians, St. Paul reminds us that the mystery of Christ has been revealed to all. In the past, this mystery was hidden, known only to a select few. But now, through Christ, this mystery has been made known to all people. This is a great privilege and responsibility that we have been given. We are called to bear witness to the Gospel and to share the love and grace of Christ with everyone we encounter.
