    "You Just F**ked Us, Legend!" | American Sniper (2014) #shorts #americansniper #movie #movieclips
American Sniper is a 2014 American biographical war drama film directed and co-produced by Clint Eastwood and written and executive-produced by Jason Hall, loosely based on the memoir American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History (2012) by Chris Kyle with Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice. The film follows the life of Kyle, who became the deadliest marksman in U.S. military history with 255 kills from four tours in the Iraq War, 160 of which were officially confirmed by the Department of Defense. While Kyle was celebrated for his military successes, his tours of duty took a heavy toll on his personal and family life. It stars Bradley Cooper as Kyle and Sienna Miller as his wife Taya, with Luke Grimes, Jake McDorman, Cory Hardrict, Kevin Lacz, Navid Negahban, and Keir O'Donnell in supporting roles.

Not even a true sniper rifle, but a weapon designed just to give small units some glass during a time while most guys just rocked irons. I believe it has a max effective range of about 1k yards, and that 54R isn’t going to be moving all that fast at past that range. That and it’s not all that accurate of a gun, it’s a sub 2 MOA at 100 yards at best.
I believe Chris was either using his 300WM or his .338. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie, but what is for sure is that both of those rounds can reach out and touch the mile marker. There’s a lot to take into account, but I think it’s one of the dumbest lines in the movie. Most of the terror groups the US, and coalition partners, have fought have been nowhere near as well equipped as our guys. The equipment to make the shot is there. There there’s the matter of skill, at this point his marksmanship shouldn’t be questioned. They literally refer to him as “Legend”. There was the right man behind the right rifle, no shot should be “impossible”. No need to ad extra dramatic effect. Being surrounded by enemy combatants is enough.

Jesse had receipts saying he wasn’t even in the same city when Chris claimed this took place. Chris also claimed he punched Jesse, so Jesse was like “Oh so you’re admitting to assaulting me. @Doc__Vegapunk So much goes into accuracy at that range. From bullet weight, grain load, temperature, humidity, wind, elevation gain/drop, twist rate, flight time, coriolis effect etc... With the specific rifle and scope that Chris used, you would likely need a double digit mil hold. This means the bullet would penetrate the target from the top down and not the front (think artillery rounds). If you're a masochist, there are a multitude of online articles on long range accuracy that would help explain further. Otherwise, just be entertained by the movie and know that was an impossible shot. 😊
