i try to be accurate and provide decent information. i would love to be able to travel far and test the accuracy of these world wide. the compass prover was set up with the compass i have used all over north america, north africa and south west asia.
head to head, what would i see? i wish i could test them at that scale

@@dysfunctional_vet It would be most useful to a number of people if you coulsd display and describe your compass prover. ATB. Nigel

Does the rip off compass constantly read 4 degreees off? If so then you may be able to use it - if not I would consign it to thre trash can. I'v subbed. Stay safe. ATB. Nigel

it can be compensated with a screw driver which i have already done after the test. the big question iswill it hold true at different locations.
across the globe, (or flat earth if you have seen my video where i prove a globe and flat earth scientifically, for comedy), if the compass holds true using a prover then it would be okay. It also can be corrected using a map, and triangulating your position and correcting that way.
at this writing, my ability to travel a few hundred miles is limited so i can't set up a prover and test the compass. this is not deviation based on location, but the compass itself having internal error.
i watched a video where a guy used a compass which i use often to find a property line and he got off course by a huge amount. his problem is he does not understand how to use the thing or understand navigation. setting up a property line with a compass as a survey does (or did) can be done, but you need to understand the fundamentals of its function, internal error and human errors introduced by the operator.
