    As a Propane Tech, first thing people. ALWAYS CHECM to see if there is any propane in the tank. Use the bleeder or gauge to check that before you ever attempt to take any valves off. Doing so can kill you because of high pressure in the tank let alone liquid propane is not something you want on your face, eyes, nose or even mouth. Trust me from experience, I do know what I’m talking about. It can make you go blind and also swell your body up like you got hit by a train. Nasty stuff. Never attempt to do this alone. If unsure just call a propane company to revalue your tank. Your life is never worth the risk.

    ok. So to make sure i understand correctly, do i pump the gel through the drill stem or should i pour it directly into the hole?

    • @dysfunctional_vet
      @dysfunctional_vet Месяц назад

      mix it in the cutting tank by pulling through the pump and right back into the tank through the hose. after it is mixed then push it down the stem into the bore, make sure you have pulled stem soit does not sediment in

  • @shayisrael6137
    @shayisrael6137 Месяц назад

    Question for you. So im down at 80 feet and it seems like im getting a never ending supply of sand. Ive pumped for about 6 hours at this depth and if i stop pumping, at least 4 feet of sand falls on top of my bit. I know this because if i raise my bit the full length (which is 4 foot) and then shut the pump off for a few minutes and i go to lower the bit, it doesnt drop at all. Do you think that if i just keep pumping that the sand will eventually stop coming?

    • @dysfunctional_vet
      @dysfunctional_vet Месяц назад

      no, but you will lose your bit, it will sediment in, the drill gell which is bentonite clay is what walls that up, but there is a good chance that is your water bearing strata. you need to pull your stem up and mix some drill gel and make sure the viscosity is about like a slurpy that has melted, it needs to be a bit thick

    Nice install vid. One possible problem is that style of adapter is meant for a 5inch and above pipe. 4inch pipe usually will require an external clamping style pitless adapter so that the 90 deg seating flange sits flush or slightly outside of the I.D. of the pipe. With 4inch pipe there is minimal room for the Well pump to pass the flange depending on pump diameter.

    • @dysfunctional_vet

      while i am not totally sure about the long tube sticking down, it may be so that the tank can be drained for moving. some tanks, i have read can be drained. this one could not be drained. i used white and some have commented you need yellow. this tank has not leaked down in the years since i put this in. you might ask the guy you sold the valve to you. i wish things were more clear. the other possibility is that it might be used for filling small tanks (20 pound) something i would never attempt

    • @dysfunctional_vet
      @dysfunctional_vet 4 месяца назад

      not that much. i was expecting to hit clay all the way down until i went into the water bearing strata. what the clay does is to act as a barrier to the water going into the formation and having a loss of circulation. i started with bentonite using about 4 pounds in a 1 meter square hole. after thatt, the clay in the strata was in solution and i did not need any more bentonite added. i did seal the well outside the casing with bentonite clay. when i needed to dig some of the casing out to add a pitless adapter, digging that bentonite was difficult to do. i have an appointment that i have to get going, but i will post a bit more for you when i get back. make sure you have that 1 meter square pit otherwise you will have issues with the thickess of your drilling fluid

      @@dysfunctional_vet "i have an appointment that i have to get going, but i will post a bit more for you when i get back." I highly appreciate it! when you say you sealed the casing with bentonite, are you talking about the whole length or just the top part?

    • @dysfunctional_vet
      @dysfunctional_vet 4 месяца назад

      @@shayisrael6137 sealing the casing is only while drilling. you have to develop the well, and get the bentonite out as fast as possible once you finish or it will seal your well against water movement both ways. in my case that 4 pounds took care of the first 30 feet and after that the clay in the water (suspended), kept the bore from collasping and the water inside the bore and not going into the strata around it. after i hit depth, 90 feet, i let the circulation pump run for about 30 minutes, and i made sure that the suction for my mud pump was not on the bottom, and not close to where the cuttings were coming in. (you will also need to shovel out the cutting every so often, they willl be heavy and it is work.) after that, i started to push my casing, starting with a 20 foot, number 80 screen stainless which i show how to make in another video. i made all the parts i use from 2x6 to hold the pipe as it was sunk. after your screen is in, you need to drop rock (river rock is the size) all around the screen and use a tape reel (100 feet to make sure you have rock all the way up the screen) after your rock is in, you can settle it, by rocking the casing and measuring again. this is important, do not skip. again measure, when you are above your screen a few feet, then you can back fill this with with a good thick layer of sand, and only after you have 3 feet (use that reel) you can then back fill with something solid. the area above that sand, needs to be sealed against contamination. i filled the annulus with bentonite clay. if you want a pitless adapter, do not fill all the way to the top, and make sure you have a 4 inch or larger casing at the very top.

      off camera, i think it was the next day, i almost completely disassymbled the thing trying to do exactly that. i used a flat punch on the roller shaft, and was sorta gentle, and it would not move. i'm of the opinion it is a friction fit. i will mike it out and see a little later and will get back toyou. we have storms hitting and i don't want to get that stuff out and risk water damage so it will be later this week, hopefully. i can tell you i could not budge it with that punch and was hesitant to really slam down on it until i have to replace a cutter wheel.

      it is dead. most of the board has no data to say what stuff is or what it is doing. to reverse engineer this would require more time and money than i would devote to it. also i'm sure the chinese have already stolen the technology

    That is what I like of boomers, one day they are fixing a diesel tractor, next day fixing a satellite router with the same tools they fixed the tractor. The power supply looks like a switching power supply, be careful with the high voltage. if it is a switching power supply you will have the high voltage and the low voltage both isolated by optocouplers. Check if you have power in the low voltage side. If not you will have to look at the high voltage. Check if the rectifier (diode bridge) is in good shape, next I would check the switching transistors both in the high voltage. Check if the green unidentified package has 4 connectors, that could be your bridge rectifier. Subscribed.

      i will check on this, but it will have to wait. i have irons in the fire from last year when i was sick. for the record, i fix what i can, try to fix what i can't, but i'm well aqainted with ilizaro technique,

      @@dysfunctional_vet I'm amazed you are even trying to work on that router. It is always inspiring to me watching people with that level of curiosity about how things work and actually fixing them with they break down.

    The large piece of aluminum is a shielding for switching power supply. That board with ferrite transformers and large capacitors is a power supply. It is likely designed to operate globally so it can work from 110V or 230V. The smaller L-shaped board is a Wi-Fi router. The starlink antenna is a satellite transceiver.
