Very nice tribute to your Mom in the beginning of this video. I lost Dad 7 years ago and Mom 2 yrs. ago . You are a Great Son caring for your Mother the way you have . Hang in...
You are blessed to still have your Mother. Mom died when I was 4 years old so I've not had the luxury of a lifetime worth of celebrations with her. Good job on the hose. So many times old hoses are damaged at and close to the ends when they are removed causing an issue as you already know. So many of my videos start way in excess of an hour then edited to 10 to 15 minutes. THAT is the hard part....LOL. My son's having an issue with my old B2400's HST tranny right now, but that's another story !! Thanks Dave for another informative video.
yes that editing is the pits! takes all the fun out of video recording. I'd rather be on the tractor than behind the camera or in the editing room. I had enough editing back in my photography days. hope you can figure out the B2400 issue.
Very nice to see your mother in the video! Keep those pumps protected for sure. My neighbor dropped a washer inside his pump while it was off and didn’t know it. Caused a good bit of damage when he started the tractor.
oh man I bet it did. I was just working on my van and lost a 10mm socket. cant find it and now it idles high. wonder if it fell in the air intake? lol I looked in there with the bore scope but seen nothing.
How's she goin'? Nice to see your Mom Dave!!! Tell her I wished her a happy Mother's Day!!! Nice tip to about changing the suction hose. And like you say, now is a great time to change it eh!! Take care!!
Lol if it works it ant stupid lol and I have a fire extinguisher mounted on both my tractors rops. Its getting so close to done !!! Bet you are feeling good about it. Have a good one Dave.
Nice work, Dave. When reattaching the hydraulic hose, maybe you could use a high pressure hose clamp unless there's limited space to tighten the clamp or if the clamp would impede exact closure from anything that would normally rest upon or above the hose. No need to video everything Dave since that's a lot of work to video things, then edit, then move to the next step. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it (hahaha). 😀 Enjoy your Mothers Day with mom.
thanks Don, yes its a lot of work editing and recording. makes doing the job ten times as long sometimes. hope you all had a great mothers day celebration.
My L3400dt is a 07, I replaced that hose in 2013 with about 800hr on tractor, cause of failure was that grey paint. I dont remember much oil coming out but what I did notice first was a hitching like feeling in steering wheel, if that makes sense..........
thanks yes its been rocky week or longer mom got sick and so I been busy cleaning up messes here and there. dont want to take her to the E.R. unless I have to. so I'm just doing the best I can to nurse her along. her temperature has settled down but she says she is weak still. she is worried I will catch it so she gets mad at me for pampering her. just got her to eat some hot soup so hopefully she is getting better.
@@daveknowshow Oh , Brother I wish fast cure for Mom and hope everything goes fine. It's blessings to have her and support her. May Almighty bless you in every breath you take. 🙏
Hi Dave.. thanks so much... question.. doing a clutch replacement.. when rolling the rear axle back one wheel seizes up... what could that be... does anybody know... The tractor is split...one side moves ok but the left side seizes up very hard to move.....
check the dif lock and make sure its not half engaged. I cant imagine what caused that. you do need to figure that out though. keep me posted on what you find. I will ask my son and see what he says. he is a Kubota Tech so he may or may not have seen this happen before. what tractor model is it? is it HST shuttle or gear?
@@daveknowshow Thanks david, I will check that... Hope that that is the case but it feels like the brake is on... I will keep at it and let you know what it is later next week.... thanks again for your help.
@@daveknowshow Ok all sorted.. I think it was the diff lock after all.. I jiggled all the levers, put in some words I can't repeat here and it moved better... The tractor is back together now.. happy with it... Thanks for your help.
Yeah don't bother saving the old hose if you wanted to do yourself a favor buy two hoses but don't shed any tears when you end up throwing both of them away without ever using your spare dry rot will get it possibly before your other hose goes bad I don't know of anything to make rubber store well.
i wouldve hate having oil on wood because little animals probbly be inside and i sure wouldnt like seeing them licking oily wood wich would kill them that would be bad thats why i cover my wooden floors with plastic

so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my Dad to Alzheimer's 11 years ago. it was tough to go through that.

Yeah the steering is fed off that pump. So if starved the steering may be the first point of suffering.
Hi Dave , hope you and yours are doing well. It's been a week since last update , can't wait to see back. 🙏

Good points Dave. Yeah, when you put on a camera you just doubled the time it takes to do the job. lol Have a good week! See ya!
I know you know all about that. I been really enjoying the landscaping videos over there.

You do that??
I never thought of that Michael. I guess they would be prone to eat on the oil maybe.
