Missed opportunity for elgato not to include a line input and a line output on this otherwise excellent AI. This could have been the best Audio interface for people who have a 2 pc setup or have plans to upgrade on a 2 pc setup.
Weird device. What Elgato should’ve done is to go for unique features. Like 2 USB cables for 2 PCs. Or second output for speakers, that have no mic monitoring sound. A button that allows you to switch from speakers to headphones. Bunch of inputs for connecting additional stuff like PS5, some AUX from speaker with Alexa or even guitar. Allow to connect any USB Mic.
@CYP2D6 I just don't understand the place of this thing on market. On same price range I can get GoXLR Mini. Or Elgato Wave 3, which is basically the same thing + pretty good mic. All Wave XLR does is turns any XLR mic into Wave 3. And that's good, but price is not good enought. It needs more features or price should be like half the price of Wave 3.
@@heavylog1c It's so bring a lot of features USB microphones have to XLR microphones. However, it's designed to be a physically simple device and most features are done by software. Crazy question. I plan on using this on my iPad with the apple usb power adapter. How do I engage the clip guard? I think if I understand correctly that this feature is not on by default like the wave 3. So I would have to turn it on via pc? If that’s correct then how long does the wave xlr memory of these settings made last? Meaning if I unplug it from my pc after engaging clip guard will it stay that way until I hook it back up to a pc and turn it off?
Could you use the "mic and pc mix" toggle on the wave xlr for your USB speakers? For example if I'm video editing through speakers and a call comes in, I could tap the capacitive mute and put my headphones on to take the call? Is that possible? I'm assuming I could alternatively use the stream deck to mute the speakers? This would be a really useful feature for me though for general productivity work as opposed to streaming.
I have a question does this going to work with WAVE 3 mic? Or you don’t need it? And is it going to work to on 4K60 S+ standalone without a PC cause im recording through SD card.
I just purchased this wave xlr and I currently use the goxlr mini. I have to use a aux cable from the line in and plug it into my Nintendo switch to capture the game audio into my obs recordings. i need help i just got my wave xlr and the software is downloading but snot appearing on my pc i have updated my pc removed it and downloaded it again and it just doesnt show up anywhere
Sorry Elgato, your software is amazing but £160 for basically a XLR interface is overpriced considering the GoXLR Mini is the same price and you can do allot more with the GoXLR making it more useful. I got loads of Elgato products and it pains me to say this one isn't worth the investment in :(
I could agree with it, if it weren't for the fact the GoXLR being only a max of 24V phantom power, meaning not all mics work as well than with the WaveXLR.
If I have a sm7b would it hurt to use a cloud lifter then the wave xlr at the same time or would it damage the mic or the wave xlr? While does not seem mandatory with extra gain from wave xlr, I already have cloud lifter and just ordered a wave xlr, so can use wave link and my wireless g Logitech headphones combined with sm7b, seems like a better way to control all audio with wave link as a go xlr would not work with wireless headphone solution. As a user of stream deck and key light I’ve excited to add the wave xlr to my setup
Will there be a white version ? Got everything in white, my Streamdeck is white also, cool you guys made faceplates for Streamdeck and Wave XLR. But for the Wave XLR there is no white plate :( Forgot ? Are you guys planning a full white version of the Wave XLR and that's the reason why there is no white faceplate ?
This product is only intended for XLR mics, not USBs. If you have a Yeti and want to make your mic quality sound studio-ish, then your best bet is to download voicemeeter banana. Otherwise, you’ll have to upgrade your mic if you truly want to take advantage of the Wave XLR.
If you do buy a Wave XLR, you'll of course gain access to the Wave Link software. You can then assign your preferred USB microphone into one of the input channels within Wave Link. Hope this helps.

I fear, your request cannot be realized. The Camera Hub software uses the internal memory of the Facecam to safe the settings. Even if it worked with any cam, the settings could not be saved. Also, every cam has it’s unique set of settings. But what you’re asking for has been done by Logitech before. At least for the Brio and C920. The software is called Logitech G-Hub.
can this be used in combo with a midi controller? for example assigning faders on a midi board to each channel in wave link, or does the software not support default midi control?
Don't you guys make the StreamDeck that is only Windows 8.1 or higher compatible. I use Windows 7 for life. Just for that reason alone I'm going to be skeptical of buying this product, because it probably won't work with Windows 7 because you guys just don't care about supporting Windows 7.
