I went into this not really expecting to get anything out of it, but the only tip I didn't know about was #95. I had no clue you could just easily replace/add power poles to existing power lines like that!
Another tip on the hard drive section: also take enough materials to build a MAM near the drop pod, throw the hard drive in, then delete it. The timer will still continue in the background while you're heading to the next location..
@@whoisunholyI tried to leave and come back to it and it wasn't there, maybe I didn't recognize that it gave it back to me but I thought it deleted the harddrive
@@HouseKept it's a little misleading since the place where the hard drive shows is empty, but if you press the scan button, it'll scan. That was my experience.
5:31. The most terrifying experience I've had in this game involves the arachnophobia mode. I had switched it on and forgotten that I had, that there was one. I was building a hypertube along the edge of the red forest early on in the game. And I kept hearing meowing. I had no idea what it was, i initially thought it was coming from a tab in my browser. It wasn't till I ignored and kept building I noticed these little cat jpg's along the ground from up on my hypertube. I had absolutely no idea what the hell they were but only had a second to be confused until the bigger cat jpg started growling and then launched itself up at me. Knocking me off what I thought was a pretty high and safe hypertube and into the rest of the cat jpgs, of which started to assault me horribly. In the panic of the horror I nearly shat myself as I began tossing nobelisks and darting running for my life. XD

The update 8 change to parachutes drastically changes their usability. Not only are they reusable, you will now find that they let you ascend when pressing against many angled surfaces. Long before the jet pack or hoverpack are unlocked the parachute now enables much more exploration by enabling steep ascents. After the blade runners are unlocked, you can reach virtually any height by jumping and paragliding into a cliff with an angled face.
100% agree with this comment. It's almost too good, as when I've "upgraded" to jetpacks I missed that I could glide for as long as I wanted rather than as long as my fuel would last, and again when I've "upgraded" to the electrical jetpack I missed the ability to fly when in the wild. Parachute is equal to and in many cases better than the end tier flight capabilities. Love it so much.
The parachute is really good, but I think you guys are overselling it a little. You definitely can drift up slopes which is great, but it’s kind of unpredictable and hard to control. Also, yes you can soar farther in the parachute then you can with the jet pack but only until you start using packaged biofuel instead of solid biofuel or packaged fuel. (Change your preferred fuel by clicking the gear symbol on the jet pack in your inventory or while you’re wearing it) I can literally get roughly a quarter of the way across the entire map on one jump, while using packaged biofuel, if jump of something high and time the spurts carefully. By All means definitely use the parachute as soon as possible, but, other than needing fuel, the jet pack is objectively better in every way.
9. No longer need to use barriers to make cavity walls. Nudge can now move them into place and it can make them a lot smoother and no more guess work if the barrier is in the right spot. 92. You can use beams to make far better even stairs. Just add a 2m foundation above where the top of the stairs will be then run a beam from it's center down to the center of where you want the stairs to end. Remove the 2m foundation then place beams downwards side by side along the bottom of that main beam and then snap foundations to them. Perfect even stairs and the beams are all visible and easy to poof.
I've got 200 hours in the game and thought oh cool, maybe I'll learn 2 or 3 things from this vid and it turned out to be closer to 30. Honestly blown away by the creative use of walkways and barriers
Here is a better tip for the auto-gathering of leaves. 1) go to leaves you want to grab and press E and hold it. 2) while you're holding E, press TAB to open inventory 3) release the E key 4) close the inventory 5) You can now wander in the wild and your character will gather leaves without the need to press E again. (It will break if you press the E key again for another action otherwise, you can use other tools like chainsaw, scanner, construction mode and so on and it will still gather leaves automatically unless you press E key somewhere)
The most underrated tip is to press T to hide some of the HUD. It's useful HUD, but sometimes in the way. Another one is that inputs and outputs have a pretty easy to remember shape, a I I I for input, and a \____/ for output. Especially helpful for Splitters and Mergers but they also have "color coding." Solid color for output, trim color for input.
I like the trick about fast building with E button, earlier i was putting the building one by one, now i can SKIDISHHH and put 10 in a row Good tips, tyvm 👍
If you like a clean (nature-free) factory design, you can also build miners on foundations above nodes (to approximately 2m) to align miner rotation and z-height with your world or factory grid. It doesn’t snap X/Y position to the grid however, so you will still need to realign your belts...
I've got 1600+ hours and had missed the material changing in Tip 6. I haven't used the E menu much but have started doing so more since realizing it worked within BP subcategories. That was a literal game changer for me with my BP usage since opening the menu is a chore due to no keybond getting straight there and I'd been binding BPs individually. It's so much easier to separate them that way, which I discovered only about a week into using Update 8 back in experimental. One thing I didn't see specifically mentioned is you can slide jump on a belt and go even faster. Doing that on a mark 5 belt can get you going ridiculously fast. I'm doing a road system in my current save that's got walkways along each side. Once I get enough aluminum production going, I'll be adding belts to make that even faster. Regardless, slide jumping on a mark 3 belt gets me going a fair bit faster than the fastest speed I've measured on ziplining along power lines, which is the same speed as the explorer vehicle on a straightaway in my testing. Finally, if I were in the UK, I'd definitely be trying your coffee. Best wishes on that front!
You can ship up multiple milestones if you first load up the required items, then change to the next milestone, add those items too, and then launch them. When you launch the dropship, you temporarily can't insert more materials, but you still can launch other milestones.
I'm glad I came across this by sheer luck because I'm working with Blueprints and the Ctrl and Rotate on snapped objects from Tip#1 is a godsend piece of info. Trying to develop my own little segment of multipurpose highways and couldn't figure out adequate ways to make finetuned turning rather than use segments of turns that would look like zigzagging. Some of these things I wish I knew sooner.
Mathematical nitpick. Over unclocking uses a power of about 1.3. The formula is something like OP=P*(x/100)^1.3. Where P is the base power, and x is the under/over clocking multiplier. This may seem like exponential, because exponents are involved. But it's more similar to quadractic, which would be like x^2 ( n to the power of 2.) Exponential growth involves n being the exponent. e.g. B^n. Exponential growth is far more extreme than quadratic growth. For example, quadratic grow would look like this: 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49. Exponential would look like ( for a base of 2,) 2,4,8,16,32, 64, 128. Long story short, under/overclocking is more similar to polynomial growth ( e.g. quadratic) than exponential. But it's not quadratic, becuase the power is 1.3, not 2.
I'm not one for aesthetics, mostly because they can be limiting and honestly I am just a terrible decorator, but these beautiful builds are making me want to give it a shot
One of my favorite inventory tweaks from modded Minecraft is using the scroll wheel while hovering on an item to transfer a specific amount of items to or from your inventory. I wish more games would use this feature!
I played this game when it released and haven't played since. I followed you a few months ago because of Sons of the Forest. Now I'm looking for tips and here you are! Thanks! Edit-typos
Another one: There's no need to hold E to handmine in the early game / clear resource nodes. Start with handmining and press tab to open the inventory, now you can release E, while your character keeps mining.
Quick note on tip #7, you don't need the walkways anymore, you can attach foundations to the barriers themselves now. If you want them centred you can just use nudge. Second note on tip#9, you can do the same thing just by using nudge. The barrier trick can be quicker as you can just plop it down, but often you have to take the time to lines things up either way so just nudging the wall from the start is usually just as if not easier.
The E radial dial is nice, and you can also just press it once to cycle through the options. Great for going from merger to splitter and back, and cycling through conveyor and lift tiers.
i have been playing for about 2 months now, and even though the amount of things you mentioned here, that i didn't figure out on my own is small, there are so many that i wish i knew before i started. for example, i didn't know how to tame a doggo, until after i finished the last space elevator mission. also, i paid far too much attention to efficiency. which ironically made me (the player) less efficient.
I had to keep pausing and going back thinking to myself “wait what!” I have over 1,500 hours in this game and there was quite a bit here that was new to me!
To add to this, there are more hard drives than alt recipes so you don't need to worry about running out. Alternates are gated by unlocked tiers and items in the MAM so doing a hard drive collection run early on can be a real game changer. There is also an almost ridiculous number of items, many fairly high end ones, scattered around which can often be used to unlock crash sites and also sunk as needed for a burst of early tickets in the Awesome Sink.
Scaling lines, gradually turn on and off, scaling to the amount of resources you receive, this can be useful creating factories that turn on when there's a large influx of resources for a longer period of time. Rather than a manifold that should be calculated to the amount of resources coming in. If a manifold fluxuates with resources they'll be turning on and off constantly
one little correction. yes buidebles are 100% refundeble whit 1 notible exeption. Pattern. if u remove patterns or foundations whit patterns u wont get the color cardrige back.
Imagine making a fantastical alien creature so terrifying that you have to include an option to hide it. And then imagine that game being a Factory Builder/Logistics Game/Millennial Train Set. I have an abandoned section of track in one of my saves because I tried to run a railroad through an area when one of the BIG spiders dropped on me. I'll just build a bridge over the water.
Sup! Thanks for the video. Knew most of the tips, but there were some useful ones I didn't, and I loved them!. Got to your channel a couple of weeks ago and I have been seeing all of your videos. You have been quite a mentor for me :) I just want to make a small comment about your tip #92 and using pillars to create stairs. I've recently come across a video by Relyen Gaming, uploaded 7 months ago, about doing smooth stairs. It uses a different technique which I found to be extremely easy, and it gives awesome results. The video is called "Build the stairs YOU WANT with ease! - Satisfactory How To", just in case you don't know this way and want to check it out. Just wanted to add that extra info. Thanks for the awesome content! Cheers! Nico
Great tips collection! :) Never thought about adding a timer to the footage - interesting idea! :) I also love grouping tips into sections and adding timestamps for these groups; it might improve navigation for a viewer. Not sure whether it will be applicable for your style, though :)
Loved this. I play satisfactory for long time (300h~). I don't like this kind of videos anymore but yours is awesome. Subscribing. And cannot Wait 2 more weeks to get my computer. I missed it so much damn. (moved to another country)
When manually crafting something I learned spacebar crafts the item. I had a pocket knife on my PC desk. I put the thing on my spacebar so the game crafts while I check the laundry :P
Didn't notice the "last thing deleted" tip. Where you can move a whole factory worth of items by putting them in containers, highlighting to delete, then cross the map and highlight one more item.
For anyone reading this after 1.0 releases this will no longer work. You will be given two choices plus the option to re-roll once per hard drive. Also you won’t be required to make a decision before moving on to something else in the MAM. You can, presumably, research multiple hard drives and have a whole bunch of recipes to choose from all at once. At this time I’m not quite sure how this will work.
Hi. thanks for the video! Would you mind showing how to plan and build logistic floor? It's hidden and due to this there is an obvious difficulty to implement.
Logistics floors are not a good idea for beginners in my opinion. It makes building the factory take a lot longer and it can be a lot harder to diagnose problems when you make a mistake because it’s really hard to see what goes where and whether the belts are full partially full or almost empty. If you really like that look (personally I want to be able to see the results of all my hard work) and are willing to put in the extra effort then by all means go for it, but just be aware it may not be the best fit for you personally.
My current factory is pretty cluttered, and likely too far made to correct all the problems (I have never used the world grid, so when making foundation paths to join nearby buildings, they just do not connect). It has coal running the whole place, so making another will be a bit fruatrating knowing I need to find coal again, there was like 5 coal nodes grouped close together, idk if that is luck or generally multiple of the same node spawn near each other.
@@10Sambo01 I have been using signs to light up my factories. I have never turned on global illumination. They definitely do light things. I am not sure what the proper "form" of lighting they do when global illumination is disabled but I can confirm without them my enclosed factory is pretty much pitch black and with them I can see again ... so they do "something" at least.
Does anybody know why I can't align a Constructor with a Miner on foundations? Its either a bit too far left or right. Like for the concrete production. This drives me nuts! Help much appreciated!
Damn I'm stupid... how did I not watch exactly this part of the video? Will try. I assume it will fix my problem. Thank you! But why are miner outputs like this? not all but some?
@@tropicthunder332miners can only clip to very specific spots on resource nodes and those nodes are not placed on any kind of predictable grid. Sometimes they line up with stuff sometimes they don’t. You could try the nudge feature to line up a belt support or a machine with the miner out put. (Press h and then use arrow keys hold down ctr while pressing arrows keys for finer nudges)
If I scroll the wheel, the whole conveyor turns. I've seen some of your designs where you have the back of the lift orientated against a wall, the bottom facing forward, but the top facing the opposite direction to the base. If I scroll the wheel, the whole conveyor turns. @@TotalXclipse
Holding control and placing a foundation only aligns that to that Biome. The world grid does not work. Or at least for me has never worked between Biomes.
Good video but the speed speaking at around the 7 min mark when your saying when deleting items you can choose what item to delete but i could not make out what letter you were refereing to 10 mins is good but not if you speed speak thru it, some of may have a bit of issue with hearing .
Yep, because its a tip for anyone who's playing satisfactory in Update 8. Unlike adding multiple trains to a line without signals as that wouldn't work in update 8.... But it would prior to U5
Disagree. If you have 100h in this game, you're still a beginner in most people's opinion, and if you're still not using foundations at 100h, that's just a weird playstyle XD
(Regarding tip 91) I heard recently that valves do *not* reset headlift, and that the indicator stopping at a valve is just a visual thing. It was some other big Satisfactory RUclipsr who was corrected by his audience after saying the same thing in one of his videos.
Unless that changed in Update 8, that's not accurate. It may well have but I heard this before and tested it using carefully placed 1M walls with pumps placed to measure the correct locations, finding it to have been false in U7. I don't recall seeing this mentioned as an Update 8 change but there's a line in the notes about various misc fixes, IIRC, so that doesn't mean it isn't a new change.

Also there are several hard drives that you can use to get alt recipes which can help you a lot in your factory building
I found 10 hard drives after unlocking all the recipes that are currently available.

32. What is a scaling line, how is it different from a manifold? Why does it require a smart splitter?
Scaling lines, gradually turn on and off, scaling to the amount of resources you receive, this can be useful creating factories that turn on when there's a large influx of resources for a longer period of time. Rather than a manifold that should be calculated to the amount of resources coming in. If a manifold fluxuates with resources they'll be turning on and off constantly
@@TotalXclipseoh! Now I get it! So basically less stuttering and more flexibility. Man this game is so cool!
one little correction. yes buidebles are 100% refundeble whit 1 notible exeption. Pattern. if u remove patterns or foundations whit patterns u wont get the color cardrige back.
Good point
It took until tip #81 for there to be one I didn't know, but you got me.
You have been quite a mentor for me :)
I just want to make a small comment about your tip #92 and using pillars to create stairs.
Cheers!
Nico
Really weird question but at 9:18 what is the hex code for the colour of that door?
Great tips collection! :)
Never thought about adding a timer to the footage - interesting idea! :)
I also love grouping tips into sections and adding timestamps for these groups; it might improve navigation for a viewer.
Congratulations on the move!
Fantastic, learned a few new ones!
Whoah! Don’t let the developers hear about this! It’ll get patched for sure! 😂
Nice video brother!
Nobelisk is slow. You can destroy stuff (gas pillars, fragile rocks and trees) much faster using explosive rebars.
Good tip!
I’m looking forward to using this! I’ve been using nobelisks for so long!
I want a mod that replaces spiders with clowns.
You can replace em with cat png though 😂
Tip #10 is THE TIP. slidejump is just about the fastest way to move (that isn't a train)
#9 Holy Crap :D just like in real life. why it didn't come to my mind :D awesome video!
.....I will be a few hundred of your views when 1.0 drops.... there are quite a few tips here I will use. Thank you sir!
if you dont like the given 3 stuff in mam when reserching a harddrive just hit escape and you dont loose your harddrive.
Thank you, i just got a game, and i really love it, tips here will help for sure in next projects !
They didnt lie about the UK teeth...
*_Might have been the coffee he's addicted to, but I see you_*
My current factory is pretty cluttered, and likely too far made to correct all the problems (I have never used the world grid, so when making foundation paths to join nearby buildings, they just do not connect).
It has coal running the whole place, so making another will be a bit fruatrating knowing I need to find coal again, there was like 5 coal nodes grouped close together, idk if that is luck or generally multiple of the same node spawn near each other.
Note that the 'Signs as Lights' tip only works with Global Illumination enabled in the Video Settings.
They can still be used for lighting effects without lumen enabled, just don't look as good
Sure, but with lumen off they don't actually light up anything around them, just emit non-reflected light (other than on shiny surfaces).
Knew them all... but I have 1500+ hours in this game. Still enjoyed the video.
Is your coffee only being shipped to UK? 😢 I guess I’ll have to wait until you guys unlock drone transport 😊
Unfortunately so, there's too many legalities shipping to the EU and US
I'm sorry..how do you slide and what is syncing items?
Run and hold c to slide (I think it's c) and you can sink items in an awesome sink for coupons 😊
How did he attach the barrier to the front of the miner? I cant get mine to snatch
Does anybody know why I can't align a Constructor with a Miner on foundations? Its either a bit too far left or right. Like for the concrete production. This drives me nuts! Help much appreciated!
Did you follow the tip that I showed in this video?
Damn I'm stupid... how did I not watch exactly this part of the video? Will try. I assume it will fix my problem. Thank you!
But why are miner outputs like this? not all but some?
@@tropicthunder332miners can only clip to very specific spots on resource nodes and those nodes are not placed on any kind of predictable grid. Sometimes they line up with stuff sometimes they don’t. You could try the nudge feature to line up a belt support or a machine with the miner out put. (Press h and then use arrow keys hold down ctr while pressing arrows keys for finer nudges)
10 is why i slide jump in every game now, even if it slows me down
you can snap mergers/splitters to the top of elevators? i will have to try that one
What exactly does he mean by 'scaling lines'? (#32)
Very useful.
How to rotate the top orientation only of a conveyor lift?
If it's to change conveyor flow press R if it's just the top section direction, click in place first at the bottom and then use scroll wheel I believe
@@dagoelius it depends where your entrance and exit positions are, if you place them first, you'll find that it snaps to the position you want
This is incredible.
I've been looking at your back catalog, very nice stuff! Do you have any vids about detailing builds with soft collision or other techniques?
Had no idea there were radial menus. Controller support ??
No official controller support but they are available for E and R keys
Where is the link to the mods manager?
I have over 500 hours on Satis and I didn't know over 90% of these
Holding control and placing a foundation only aligns that to that Biome. The world grid does not work. Or at least for me has never worked between Biomes.
It should do! At least it does for me 😅
Good video but the speed speaking at around the 7 min mark when your saying when deleting items you can choose what item to delete but i could not make out what letter you were refereing to 10 mins is good but not if you speed speak thru it, some of may have a bit of issue with hearing .
He was referring to the letter “g”.
Holding space for auto craft? Whatta helllllll. I was putting some weight on my mouse button 😂😂😂😂
You don't even need to hold space now, just a single click with the space bar will autograft 🙂
I found this out in the first 5 minutes by accident
Oh my god @TotalXclipse: you Look like my more handsome twin brother...the one with the better voice even!
🤣🤣🤣 I don't believe that for a second 😉
Is it a good or bad sign if I knew every single tip... 😅🙈
Whether it's good or bad, I'm in the same boat having written them 😅
There... there's a world grid...?
Guess I gotta rebuild again
27 x thank you...
For ALL Players In Satisfactory U8
Proceeds to explain the awesome shop......
Yep, because its a tip for anyone who's playing satisfactory in Update 8. Unlike adding multiple trains to a line without signals as that wouldn't work in update 8.... But it would prior to U5
great vid, won't remember a damn thing!
🤣
I knowed all 101 Tips before the video 🤭
Tip #2 and #3 are the only useful for a new player
Disagree. If you have 100h in this game, you're still a beginner in most people's opinion, and if you're still not using foundations at 100h, that's just a weird playstyle XD
If you’ve been playing everyday for more than a couple weeks you are probably ready to use all of these and you are definitely still a new player.
TIP 55, "ctrl-c and ctrl-v while simply targeting"
Me with almost 1000 hours on the game... ARE YOU F***** KIDDING MEEEEE !!!!!
I’m a mechanical engineer, and seeing tip 51 made me cringe 😂
lol i thought it was perfect that when i hit like on this video it put it at 100 exact likes :P
Only shit, some of these are game changers.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN ADD COLOURS TO THE HOTBAR!?!? Waaaaaaaaaaa
i know all of them
(Regarding tip 91) I heard recently that valves do *not* reset headlift, and that the indicator stopping at a valve is just a visual thing. It was some other big Satisfactory RUclipsr who was corrected by his audience after saying the same thing in one of his videos.
I'll have to check that but as far as I know it does stop headlift
Unless that changed in Update 8, that's not accurate. It may well have but I heard this before and tested it using carefully placed 1M walls with pumps placed to measure the correct locations, finding it to have been false in U7. I don't recall seeing this mentioned as an Update 8 change but there's a line in the notes about various misc fixes, IIRC, so that doesn't mean it isn't a new change.
My understanding is that only unpowered pumps reset head-lift.
