Introducing the S8/i. Our new all-spherical Full Frame lenses are faster, lighter and smarter, and deliver our iconic Cooke Look® for digital cinematography.
Probably gets passed through 20 different hands on their backend, marketing and content teams, revision sites, Google drive… the file itself has been compressed and reuploaded many times before marketing uploads the final version. I worked at a major marketing firm in Atlanta we could not deal with having to download and reupload and pass 4K files off to each other for every little thing
Hope Cooke will consider making more budget-friendly lenses for mirrorless cameras. Much like Zeiss, where they just design the lens and then outsource to Consina in Japan to manufacture the lens.
Please make this lens like the SP3 for mirrorless mount but still at T1.4, don't even have to manufacture yourself, send it to consina or something like zeiss and sell to the new wave of cinematographer.
@@savedfavesi would say almost exclusively. Each lens costs about 25K. The kit would cost about 250K or so. No individual goes around buying that under normal circumstances 😅
I hope one day to be able to use Cooke lenses.
Its beyond me why a world class optics company's official youtube page, still uploads in 1080p in 2022...

I wouldn’t upload 4K for social media unless it’s a big narrative project. This is an announcement video, and on my screen it looks sharp enough.
@@handelhumphrey8596 makes sense.
😅😅😅 yeah I've seen this happen with a lot of other film tech companies
Now make a mirrorless version like the SP3 but faster and edge to edge brightness.

Excited to try these. Coming from the S4's, I was a bit disappointed in the S7's, but the S8's are looking quite promising
what was the problem with the S7s?
@@Oceansta They're good lenses, but the look was much different - more contrasty and lacking the creamy goodness from the S4's
Thank you Cooke for continuing to innovate.
Question: Do the new S8/i FF lenses, provide the same sensor coverage as the S7/i FF+?
Thanks for showing us these $25,000+ lenses on 1080P. Good to know you prioritize image quality.
1080 is the new 360.
Damn I feel old now 😭
Can we have an anamorphic front adapter at a 1.5x and a 1.25x squeeze 😆😆👀👀

The cat eye bokeh is a feature not a bug i guess
It's because the lenses are round. If everything across the entire screen was perfectly round it would lose some of the special quality.
25mm,50mm,135mm 3 Lens Mi
Amazing🥰
2022 at 1080p...
Nice, but to pricey for creative individuals.
Probably mostly designed as rental lens use.
