  • A woman from Camden who lost her right leg and arm after being run over by two London Underground trains at a north London station is fundraising for a bionic arm.
Sarah de Lagarde, 44, was travelling home from work on 30 September having only just recovered from Covid when she fell asleep while on her train.
When she woke and realised she had missed her stop, she rushed to the opposite platform at High Barnet station to head back, but lost her footing and fell through the gap between the platform edge and train.
Two months on from the accident, Ms de Lagarde has been discharged from hospital and is learning to walk again.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) said it was reviewing the internal investigation, which is being run by London Underground.

I can't imagine living through this, let alone talking about it on cameras. What a brave woman.

London underground need to seriously consider putting barriers like on the jubilee line. This should not be happening.

That would not help agains't this. Alot of platforms curve so in order to give room for the trains clearances there is a large gap between the train & the platform.

Nice to see how one of the people you rescued get on after the incident, most often we don’t know how they get on,
She was very unlucky to slip under the train, but very very lucky to survive, most often when we go to people under train incidents the person sadly don’t survive.

I once got side swiped by a closing door, and nearly fell on to the carriage floor. All these things, my minor incident and serious ones like this, are due to the removal of staff from stations. There was no one to stop her running towards the train. Stop taking people away and automating TFL.

How did she loose her arm and leg? I don't take trains ever sorry. She fell between the gap of the platform and rhe triangle door threshold? Did the train depart when she was wedged? How on earth are trains allowed to operate so dangerous like that...
She didn't deserve to loose her arm and leg tho its amazing she claimed Kilamanjaro.

There are gaps between train and platform, some of them are big enough for a person to fall in. She could have been electrocuted as well.

This is the reason the unions are fighting to KEEP Guards and station staff rather than go to driver-only operation as some companies are trying to do to save money. London Underground being different as they are already driver-only.

She fell into the gap because she was just interested in her smartphone to the detriment of her surroundings.
