This mine explore was so epic because we got to see equipment left behind that you will never see anywhere else. We have more video of areas like this so if you would like to see more the smash that like button sonny Jim....Smash it HARD and we will post another one. So you know what I am gonna say huh .....So C'mon....let's Go !!!!!
That mine was very cool
Jeff I think I have seen another youtuber explore this mine. However they are not the geologist that you are!
I just love that you describe in detail what were seeing! Describing the minerals and so forth. So come on let's go bro, not go pro :)!
You are the best. Thanks again for the great video. :)
This video was awesome. How do you always stumble along such pristine locations in your videos it must take a lot of research great video. 👍. I learn something new in EVERY one of your videos. Thanks again, you know what I'm gonna say huh ... c'mon let's go
*Time machine-cool. Anvil prolly worth $2K @**6:00** Love your content and enthusiasm.*
@@MakingUsThink thanks John
That mine needs to be turned into a museum some how. What a fantastic snapshot of an old mine and infrastructure. Especially the machine shop and compressor room. It's got to be preserved. Fantastic!
they are working on it .....thanks
@@Askjeffwilliams - that’s incredible! Imagine the tours and potential!
It already is preserved, literally!
*Jeff Williams: "Say, this weekend do you want to load up the truck and .."*
*Me: "Yes, oh h311 yes. You don't even have to finish that sentence because I know it's going to be some Indiana Jones type 5hiznit!*
I can only imagine the insurance bill
What an amazing find, almost like steps backwards in time. Many of the old aircraft hangars were just like that machine shop when I joined the Air Force, the equipment was often the same but used for different reasons. I am sure the old timers could walk right in and just begin working as if they hasn’t missed a day of work. Thank you Jeff for taking us along.
yes it was and hope they keep it preserved .....you betcha
I love seeing inside buildings that look like they are still being used today! The machine shop is so freaking awesome, those were tool that were made to last. Thanks for the awesome adventure.
yes it was , I could spend a week in there and never get bored
I had to pause this video at several points because Jeff's excitement, wonder and joy was giving this old man heart palpitations. I'll probably watch it again too!
That was amazing Jeff so much history. Some of those generators were huge. Can't believe how big some of that stuff is. Talk about earning ur pay checks. Thank you for sharing. Be safe my friend 🙏.
My name is Jeph
I know...right you betcha , glad you liked it
Great video Jeff! I'm kind of nerdy when it comes to seeing old mining sites. I've seen a quite few on my many road trips around the west coast. I'll always get out of the car and walk around. But usually all of the heavy equipment is long gone. You only see the mounting bolts. I'd always imagine the huge stuff that sat there chugging away all day while the crew worked. And sometimes you can find machines that they left behind. That's my favorite! You can almost hear the haunting sounds of the mine working. And you got to see an actual mine as it was when it was operational! That is amazing! Most of the mines I come across were operating in the late 1800's to early 1900's. I love checking out those old mine sites. But a modern mine with all of the equipment there? That's super special! Thanks for posting! Can't wait for your next video!
some places you can hear the chugging sound of the machinery running ( Virginia City - Gold Hill Yellow Jacket East shaft )
I grew up in this area. There are so many old mine shafts in that hill country. These mines are still so intact because there’s always been a long standing hope that the mines would eventually reopen.
Wheres this located.? I live near Oatman Arizona
@@unclejack41 Pioche Nevada-the Pioche Castleton mine.
Absolutely amazing. I could spend days in the shop alone. Thanks for bringing us along
me too ...so cool to have everything still there ....you betcha
Dude, I wish I was as enthusiastic about anything as you are about this abandoned mine operation. Your enthusiasm turns something that may otherwise be mundane into a real adventure. Like a kid on Christmas morning- I love it. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
That Place should be Preserved!
That was one of the best mine tours I have had yet and I did not even have to pay for this one. Thanks. I love all the old equipment and how it looks like they just walked away for lunch and never came back.
thanks , glad ya liked it
Dang I wish I had more time to watch more of your videos one of my favorite prospectors, but I got to this one cheers Jeff love from Australia 🇦🇺
thanks for watching TBP
Wow, what an amazing and beautiful place. So much history there. I sincerely hope that it's still being watched closely and is secure enough to keep the looters and vandals away. It would be such a shame for the things that are there to be stolen or broken by idiots that have no appreciation for the past. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! It's so awesome to see things like that still existing out there.
That for sure is best intact mining operation I've seen yet!! You could just start mining If you had the claim! Thanks for the grand tour Jeff!
yes it was ....huge producer ......you betcha
@@Askjeffwilliams Ok, Did Ya get to stake your claim? 😁👍
Hey Jeff, I just wanted to say that I like your videos. I've learned more from you then any other guy on RUclips. I was a copper miner for 5yrs myself. I live on the richest hill on earth, know where that is? You may have been here. Anyway it's Butte Montana. If you haven't, I know that you would be like a kid in a candy store. You should come visit sometime and make sure you give yourself at least a week to see most of the mining history. That's all I have to say and keep up with your videos. I really enjoy the knowledge you give out. Oh, and my deepest apologies for you losing your dad. I know that pops is proud of you and all that you do. Respect,
Josh Maloney
thanks Josh ..we always love hearing that ....yes we do..... Anaconda Copper mine in Butte we would love too...thank you for that
Hello Jeff- OMG I almost busted a gut with your soap joke! I have worked in copper mines in Southern Arizona for a good part of my life-that is still the prevailing joke- don't think your wife could believe miners all showered in a room like you filmed! I am not one to comment-but you are really awesome- I started watching your channel when my wife got sick with breast cancer, she finally succumbed to that dreadful disease-these video's took my pain away a bit...I am glad to see that you continued even faced with the loss of your Pops-it is my personal opinion that you have helped many people not only be successful in finding "that shinny" but to cope with life.
she thought that was weird of them to do that but she was never in the Military or worked in a mine.hahahhaha we are so sorry to hear that my friend and so glad we could help in some small way ..... we are happy to hear that and thank you for sharing it ....you take care my friend
Excellent outro music! Truly some "hard rock"! HA! That was for YOU, Jeff!
hahahhahaha thanks
wow this is like a museum
It’s like it just stopped in time- and then you got to walk in and look through everything! It’s amazing the wealth of info you know Jeff! I’m just dying from all the museum quality treasures that we can learn from. Thank you so much for taking us through this amazing piece of history!
Both husband and my family were miners so this is super interesting for us🤓
WOW. Can’t believe how preserved that old mine is. Thank you Jeff. Love your style. Keep it up.
Thanks! Will do!
Those sample boards were awesome. Really nice idea, great representation with a fraction of the weight. Such a cool explore for sure!
yes it was
@@Askjeffwilliams I could hear the ghosts of all the men who worked in that room shouting in unison, "DON'T TOUCH THE GLUED SAMPLE BOARDS!" as you ran your fingers down them. You just know many a young man had their arse grilled for that. :P
WOW !!! This is an incredible documentary!!! The most intact and semi modern mine I have ever seen that is abandoned. Fantastic video !!!
thanks
Cool video. This place should be preserved and made into a museum. There is just so much still there that most people never get to see.
That tour was way cool...thanks for taking us along.
Love the faulting in these mines. Makes the minerals pop right out. That silver vein was sooo coool. Thanks Jeff, Joann, and Kris.
I know...right . Thanks
Been watching since 2009, and watched all your videos, you are the man little boy.
I've watched a few of your videos, but have never been so impressed by your knowledge in this one. In spite of being the goofball you are!
Thank you for taking us through to these workings. Awesome tour!
Wow, thank you!
Mr Williams sorry I was driving so I can only do thumbs up what a great video. This is what RUclips was created for videos like this not a bunch of motivational speakers and everything else, you did great and it was wonderful to see the serious side of you I can't believe how knowledgeable you are. Well done sir I'm impressed
Thanks 👍 really appreciate that
JEFF AMAZING VIDEO ONCE AGAIN. That's gotta be your wife behind the camera she does 1 heck of a job filming and is she always behind the camera when you do these videos THANKS JEFF, CHRIS AND JOANNE FOR A AWESOME ADVENTURE 👍😎🇨🇦👍😎🇨🇦👍😎🇨🇦
yep that is my Wife Lila behind the Camera.... thanks I will tell her....she will get a kick out of that
Thanks for the fuse demo, both the one that worked and the one that didn’t quite work.
That is an amazing mine! All that equipment, tools, buildings and records! You 1 lucky Son-of-a-gun!!!!!!! I could spend days/Weeks there just looking around. Coolest mine ever!
thanks and yes we are
The only commit I can make about this video is, That was awesome! It's like they walked off one day and never returned. Although, It was war time.
Man I watch people find a mine and have fun then there’s you and you encyclopaedic knowledge of everything mining it’s cool to watch someone who knows what he’s looking at
Jeff Williams, you seem like an awesome person to be around. Your energy is contagious. Love your videos! Lets Go!!!
thanks Jon
This is some cool shyt! As a machinist, I'm fascinated that you found an old machine shop at an abandoned mine, complete with drill presses and tools and everything. Would love to know where this is at
awe man Jeff that pick of you and the better half is priceless. love it man keep up the great work you two.
Thanks ...I know...right ....will do
My family has been running the churn drill rigs since 1926 and still running them today. We drilled for oil and water wells and prospect drilling for the lead mines in Missouri.
thats great , thanks for sharing that
I don’t Mine these kind of videos cause it’s fun looking at the old things and the way they did it. Thanks Mr. Williams for the video it was a Blast to watch and the ending was grate too. Have a grate weekend, Boy !!!
thanks Johnny and you too
This was so fun to watch! I'd spend weeks there just exploring and looking at things. So cool!!
This would be amazing to tour that place. It's like time travel but back in time all the tooling there should be in a museum. Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed this one
you betcha
ABSOLUTELY love your enthusiasm! Nice find! thanks for sharing
I'm speechless. The engineering is impressive. Awesome episode
My favorite machine was probably that massive drill press... remarkable tour! Thx Jeff!
you betcha
Nice job y'all. Watched every minute of it. We poked around there a few years ago but couldn't get the access you have. The Mackay Muckers would be proud.
thanks Tom and Julie ..... we have another vid you are gonna love coming up here soon
I cant believe all that wonderful machinery, tools and documentation survived nature and recyclers. Thanks for sharing this treasure trove with us.
only because they locked it up right away and have a full time guard
That is way cool! Been mining for 45yrs, always love the old stuff!
Those lathes and presses reminded me of my step dad's old machine shop in Osborn, Idaho in in the 79's and early eighties before the resession of that time shut all the silver mines down.
That place is incredible, like a mining museum! And the ore cart, I know it don't seem like much, but like every artifact you would find in any type of museum, it tells a story, an awesome story of the history of hard rock mining.
exactly
Gosh that’s a time capsule for the future miners! If they’re over 21 of course! 😜👌👍
Wow I would spend weeks in that shop and offices!!! Outstanding. Thank you for the show!
Our pleasure!
There is a lot of equipment there. That's the most well equiped mine video I have seen. Don't you just love it? I'm getting all warm and fuzzy.
You can tell how much he loves his life. Cheers!
The Pioche Castleton. I've heard of it but had not idea of its amazing size and scale, and very historical. Great find and interesting with your informative commentary. Worked for their accountant in the 1970's.
yep it is a Monster and I bet you got stories too
Jeff, Joann, Chris... W0W what a cool place. The history, AMAZING! Please return and show us more. On another note, please forgive me if I've spelled ones name wrong. Outstanding guys, outstanding.
no worries and Lila was there to ( my Wife ) filming everything
I love to see how things were in the old days. Things were made to last. Great vid.
Holy cow man this is absolutely amazing to me. That is so so interesting. Can't believe how everything is just how they left it.
Oh man that was a great tour.
Right? Those depth core samples were incredible!
To say that Jeff is in his element would be the understatement of the year 🤠🤣
*Jeff Williams' element has an atomic weight of 197 AMU.*
@@1nvisible1 haha yeah 🤣
Fantastic tour! That was so fun. You can tell Jeff could be a professor at School of Mines.
Cool! Me and the wife are going off grid in Golden Valley Arizona. Can't wait to start mining in Arizona. Love your show.
Right on .I live here in Golden Valley arizona. Stop by 4852s Havasupai.rd off of Quartzite &rt66
WOW,,FIRST TIME I'VE EVER SEEN A ORE DUMP,VERY COOL JEFF,YOU GUYS LOOK LIKE YOUR HAVING FUN..STAY WELL..
That was Phenomenal, talk about a trip back in time, Awesome, Thanks Jeff and crew.
Our pleasure!
Jeff, the phrase, "Kid in a Candy Store" comes to mind. You are definitely considering retiring at this mine and using the generator room as your living room! Make Slim hit those showers!
pretty much
Great video Jeff & friend's enjoyed the tour keep them coming love the history!
Thanks! Will do!
What a time capsule! I totally enjoyed the machine shop. Like stepping back in time
What a wonderful time capsule. I wish this was in the uk so I could visit it. I get such a kick out of old engineering works. Amazing place. I hope all goes well turning it into a museum and nothing goes missing prior to that happening!
I hope so too!
What a great area to explore. Mining history at its best! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow, I'm loving the shop and this video, great one Jeff!
Always having fun fam. Keep on living the dream fam. Gold squad out!!!
thanks will do
Thanks for the video Jeff!
I use to work for a mine although I dont care to much about the subject. Although I love seeing some one so passionate about a subject such as mining gives me joy to watch.
Great mine review. Those corporate mines, they always look like a abandoned at single point of time. People just walk away from the effort to keep the mine going.
Really cool, finding all of the motors an equipment. So Jeff come on let's go...
Man, that's an awesome find.
In the high country of Colorado back in the winter of 70, we reopened an old mine shaft. The engineer brought in a diesel generator and showed me the schematic on the drum hoist and brake and said he would be back to wire it. I was 1 year in tunnels then but decided to see if I could figure out how to wire up the rig. I did and he used it through the old head frame.
It was so cold at night we had a small gas furnace blowing down a vent shaft but still had to chip off the ice daily. Well, sir we finally got down inside to about 500' but had to abandon the work because we ran into an underground river far faster than any pump arrangement we could figure.
Learned a lot and had a blast (in more ways than one) DYNAMITE!!!
thats great Steven , good memories right there and thanks for sharing
Oh wow what a shop that must have been one sweet mine to work
Seriously impressive mine. Great video 🙌👏🏻👍👏🏻
Some Incredible History Thx Jeff n your team
your welcome
Amazing all that just left behind.. nice job Jeff. 👏 👍
Have fun and take care and take it easy and enjoy it
thanks
The heaters at 9:20 are for sure from after the 70s... Very odd the only thing I saw in the video that looked totally out of place! Your content is top notch! Love the channel!!
Thanks
I love that machine shop. What surprises me, is everything is still there and nobody has taken anything. That seems kind of strange to me. People can find the location of just about anything today.
this place is locked up tight and guarded
Was it always locked up and guarded?
Wow 2 amazing videos in one day yours and tvr exploring. What an awesome mine looks like someone is taking good care of it hope it stays that way would be a great museum. thanks for sharing hope to see some more from your mine soon 👍🏴
thanks
It's like everything is frozen in time. I hope it's always left like that. It would be a great tourist attraction.
This is amazing. I could spend forever looking around and picturing the people that use to work in there.
When was this mine shut down?
What a treat you all got. Sucks amazing artifacts did know places like that where still around. Keep up the explore can’t wait to see more.
Hi Max, you missed a really good one my friend ...... yep they are everywhere up there .....gonna have to bring you a long for the next one so be ready for that

Jeff I been watching you for years and this video rocked. You just keep getting better and better but when I started watching you years back you were already awesome. Now i know people might think your old antics, slim and you breakfast show were weird but I miss that humor. But if anything can you bring back the gold fever miners dance? I loved watching you pull that off while the video flashed back to that black and white footage of the rustic miner doing his happy gold fever dance. I forgot what you used to call that.
thanks for the long time viewership , really glad you liked the video ... we got lot of flack for that , not sure why . We can do that just for you
Can't wait to see you fill that mine cart with a ton of that shinny. Have slim do all the work. So come on Let's Go!!!!!!
Great Video, Sunny Jim..Jeff, is this place guarded?..This place is so Amazing...So glad its still intact..Very kool fine.....Looks like chris and Joanne are having fun also in this mine..WOW....Bet theres a lot more to see....Be worth spending money for a Tour of this mine...............Thanks old son...............JB......
