Friend, you saved me a whole lot of headache! I had a no start problem; I was about to do the big steps (just like you did). Mine doesn’t have the tee but there’s still a check valve hidden in one of the fittings. Parts diagram just calls it a fitting and not a check valve. Like 10 hours of work and a burnt out starter later it was a one hour fix!!

My son (14) and have a Polaris 6x6 2006 in our shop. This machine is the champion of wiring shorts in the harness and connectors. It had no one problem, but multiple interrelated issues. Lumped on top of it negleted maintenance. We almost threw in the towel. Stuck with it and it runs great. My son now has a healthy respect for cheap manufacturing and poor maintenance. Only experience teaches that. We really liked this video and the trip to auction. Thank you for sharing. We currently have an auction Prius in the shop and a blown engine Takeuchi TB 125 on tap. Homeschooling my sons and daughter and these shop projects are golden. Is your son working with you?

Key Takeaways: John Deere was an auction-off: 2000 hours on the-machine and someone already messed with it to boot. Right know, I KNOW some other mechanic is face palming / committing seppuku about the missed "T" connection. You might have helped an entire swath of John Deere Mechanics with your cross-pollination knowledge flowing into the ranks. I foresee the 'rat parade' of tough-dog-problem machines being offloaded en mass to your new business doorsteps. I love to watch a pro serviceman/trainer at work! This will keep a lot of used iron viable long after it's reached the 'end of life' from the manufacturers and that's one hell of a legacy/monument for the Tetrad group to outlay.
That 90degree fitting at the back of the head on a 60 series Detroit Diesel highway truck engine is an orifice. We would drill it out a little bigger and got a bit more horsepower. We found out when putting the truck on the dyno that after drilling out the office fitting it got more horse power , but if we drilled it out too large it lost horse power. So I forget the Oem size hole and the drilling size but it was amazing how it improved. I guess it’s like the check ball you found in that other fitting. Well sorta . Thanks for your great channel.
Need to silicone glue the oil filler tube into the valve cover. They will leak water in there in heavy rain. Thats what I had to do , to stop getting little bit of water in my oil. i also put a extra complete fuel filter water separater above the engine there mounted to the left side

I also have a problem on a 318d skid steer that doesn't start, and first of all I notice that the Glow Plugs don't reach the power, or better yet, the signal doesn't reach the corresponding relay. How do work the glow plugs in this type of machine? Because according to my experience of turning the key contact I have to heat up a few seconds before starting and this just doesn't work. if you can help me with this,it would be great Thanks!
Welcome back! WOW! I love how you really went into detail on the diagnosis. I am an above average parts changer, I work very well with tools, but I lack the diagnostic skills, which is what makes a great mechanic. Glad I'm in a different trade. But I love working on anything I can. Thank you for all you do here.
Very nice video for a rainy sunday morning! I learnt a lot about machines now. But I didn't understand how this T connection works, which is placed in the leakage line which goes back to tank. Perhaps my english is not good enough ;) If I would have trouble with starting my excavator, I would first clean filters, then probably replacing filters and the fuel lines. These are easy jobs I can do. Open the motor cover, uninstall pumps and injectors is something special I have no experience ;) If you ever have a small yanmar sv08 ecxavator, would be nice to see some videos about it :)
I have a 318d skid steer the problem I’m have is the equipment won’t park it will light up and look as it is park but it will move in a little bit of a slope I have to drop the bucket to park it though I comment to see if someone knew something about this issue

Hey man looks like life is good, that JD looks clean. Amazing work figuring the issue.So I have a weird issue in my 763. It has sat for about 5 mos. Battery was completely dead. No juice, nada. Picked up a new battery. Positive cable first then negative, turned on the key and nothing. No lights no nothing. Turned off the key then the panels started lighting up and flickering on and off, then it tried to start itself over and over with the key off and then out of the ignition. I had to disconnect the battery. All I have to say. Should I get an exorcist or am I missing something?
@@tetradgroup still working on it. Checked the whole harness for rodent chewing. Didn’t find anything. Heat sink on main controller was very warm to touch. Might be the controller again

llo, look, my mini loader similar to yours ran out of oil and now it won't start. Apparently you have to get the air out of it but I don't know how.

Bravo that's how I would have went about it. But with all the injectors out I definitely would have checked compression.
One of the first things I did. I had an adapter to check through the glow plug holes and all four cylinders were consistent around 425 PSI
How do you clean inside the engine area and all those tight spaces. Everything always looks clean. I try to, but it will take hours and hours.

Yes, great point. I should have installed an inline gauge and monitored the fuel pressure.
