People need to understand that we Indians love jeep because of mahindra and not because of jeep itself mahindra has done so many things in last 7 decades and because of those changes and evolutions the jeep has become an integral part of indian automotive industry so jeep heritage is mahindras history as well and people should not directly say that mahindra is a copycat.
Felt this review to be more realistic than most.. will appreciate if you can also post detailed comparison between XUV 700 Petrol Automatic and Thar Roxx Petrol Automatic.
This 5D Thar has the underpinnings & steering of the Scorpio n while still looking like a Thar….❤ your reviews. You have a nice way of putting it all together, a big 👍
Honest reviews... Not like autocars channel begging for indirect subscription... please comment...please comment.... i had great respect for autocar channel.... but word to word begging for comments more than technical things in the reviews shows them cheap....
It's a 50-50 situation, once you come out of India and see globally, the jeep Wrangler is present everywhere and Mahindra followed the same exact design template of Jeep, only reason Mahindra is good in business is because of their pricing, Jeep are way more expensive because of the technology & off road readiness
@zigwheels I skipped all thar 5d reviews/videos because 1. Mahindra made it more domesticated and more family thar than keep it still raw, specially the eps on offroader. 2. Most review are same format which was already seen enough when 3 door was launched This video has a sense of peace no loud music, no fast pace talking.not sure the lens used here, it feels like someone with me and explaining ne very gently even the moving shots and angle are new.. please continue this format..it has international appeal 👍
Highly confused between Thar Roxx 4x4 and XUV 7OO AWD. If we need hardcore 4x4, we need to trade off comfort (seat comfort are average) and cubby holes. But, if we trade off hardcore 4x4 (and auto-dimming IRVM), we get more comfort, proven car (as it has been in market for 3 years now), lots of cubby holes and more space. Also, there is a possibility that XUV 7OO will be dated in a year time as and when facelift comes. Which will be your pick? We’ll use the car for interstate driving and off the road tracks (not off-roading), if we have a 4x4 we might just love to venture into unexplored territory. Also, does XUV 7OO have better NVH when compared to Roxx?
Mahindra is smart by giving this car a white interior. They want hardcore off-roaders to go with the 3 door. This is for the buyer who wants a thar but a more practical one with occasional recreational light off-roading.
Please give us the road test of the petrol and the diesel versions of the thar roxx. What average do they give? What is the service schedule? How much will it cost per service? After how many km does one have to change the engine oil?
Every offroader drivers loves THAR more than any other Vehicles. So Indian wrangler is known as THAR ROXX 4×4 ❤🎉🎊🎉 No other vehicle can compare with its present features and new looks with offroad capabilities... now a family can enjoy and experience on road and offroad without any doubts along Mahindra THAR😊😄😍
@@manjunathn2306 ok. I have Creta, its radar is not that much hidden, and it works great. Not sure of Thar. ADAS is a highway thing only. Plus not sure Thar gets rear radar or not
Excellent review with real truth... Me too same built and height like you. Thanks for letting us know that this car doesnt suite for big heavy built people... Love you bro... Please tell us atleast 2 SUV for the heavy built people with good space. Awaiting you reply.
As a person who is planning to buy an suv and explore all car options...this review is very detailed and helpful ... But as a person who is 6.2 ft..i just have a concern for my leg space (specially in the rear seat).. P.S: I currently have test driven skoda Kushaq and taigun GT (both 1.5L)
Best have a look once it’s in showrooms. Considering Ameya at 6ft had space to spare behind himself, you should be ok but depends on how much space you prefer individually of course
Should I buy the petrol or diesel Thar ROXX AT? I drive average 10k-12k kms per year. I own 2 other petrol cars. I mostly drive in Bangalore city. Occasional highway drives. Will there be DPF issues if I keep the Thar ideal or use less? What do you suggest?
Hello Nice review and appreciate the effort ! I had a quick question for you and I would appreciate a response. I had a quick test drive, liked the vehicle and ended up booking Thar ROXX with Mocha interiors. I found it to be a good mix of lifestyle choice and almost a family car. But, I am still not quite sure about that decision and may cancel the same in coming weeks. Delivery timeline will also affect my decision. My primary usage will be in city with around 30kms a day and around 3000kms a year in long trips passing through ghat sections and a bit of bad roads. Bad roads are also in plenty in and around the area where I reside and hence a rugged vehicle helps. I found quite a few ergonomic issues such as the bottle holder space which makes me thinking. In particular, I found the front seat quite uncomfortable. It had less under thigh support. And both legs were hitting on something. On left side, it is on some projection from the dashboard and on right side the control panel on the door. I didn't find this getting mentioned in many reviews except in yours. Absence of telescopic steering blocks resolution of that problem by moving the seat back. Do you still think this is a problem that we can live with?
Mahindra ne mostly apne jeep models designs Jeep brand ki gaadio se hi copy kiye hain. Force ne bhi copy kiya hai, Force ka apna engine bhi nahi hai. Par, Mahindra ne Engine apne hi use kiye hain, ye good hai mahindra k liye.

Mahindra didn't want to get into trouble with jeep wrangler so they have given a six pack grill . Mahindra knows that those who buy the roxx will automatically change the grill, with this change he is not getting into trouble Smart guy
Leg room for the back seat is horrible. The backseat could have gone back by two to three inches and boot space a slight lesser. Otherwise those sitting behind will have a terrible experience while travelling.
1 - Interior should be dark in colour Because Thar isn't known for its comfort or luxury it's known for rugged looks. It's missing.... 2 - we expected much comfort in back seat & want more boot space . It's spacious than before but still not desirable changes 3 - Now it's looking like a jimny with wide tyres.... 4 - Side profile 👎 Same thing happened in scorpio also. But Scorpio have 2 variants . Classic Scorpio is a real Scorpio & Scorpio N is like a more family friendly Normal luxury suv..... Scorpio have still it's identity of Bhaukal But Thar.....
Apart from Renault Duster, no other car (so called urban SUVs) have the ride quality which is just perfect everywhere, be it in the city or on the highway or on broker / no roads!

Will you do a proper honest comprehensive shoot out between the Thar Roxx and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and Wrangler Rubicon? I think we, the general buying public, deserve to have a confirmation from an honest auto journalist, if the Roxx will deliver as much as the Jeep does or not. Of course, the Great Lords at Stellantis may need to swallow some bitter pills, if, as I surmise, the Thar Roxx will indeed deliver 85-90% of what the Jeep delivers, but at only 30% of the price. However, I would consider that as simple Collateral Damage and Stellantis can “take it on the chin”.
Defect in Thar Roxx: Jeep Wrangler has less tyre size than Thar Roxx , even then its chassis is higher than Thar Roxx. Thar Roxx is being made to look its chassis higher by increasing ita tyre size, which is very bad design.
While what you said about the ride should be true, the message was not clearly communicated to a non car guy that this is due to the body on frame construction and its inherent nature. Especially when comparing it to the Vitara and Creta.
I think so, its value for money becz creta and seltos will not give what thar roxx can give and the price pointh 4x4 automatic disel is available you can't compare to Xuv700.

That weird styling of the extension from C to D pillar should be deal breaker for the most 🤢
It looks like designer wanted to give dropdown softtop look.
Yeah it looks stupid and lazy designing
Even i dint like that at all but not a deal breaker. If i had that much money to buy Thar 5 door, i would fix it with black wrap or something.
Nice review. Does the ADAS radar work well despite fitting the number plate on the bumper. what happens if number plate starts shaking in future

I was wondering too.. he is 6'4 after all.
Can you rate the ride quality on a scale from 0-10 for XUV700, Scorpio-N, Thar 5D and THar 3D?
Xuv 700 = 9.5/10
SCORPIO N= 8.5/10
Thar Roxx=7/10
Thar= 6/10
Yes. The 700 being a monocoque all the others BOF, the Scorpio n and Roxx having similar suspension and the Thar 3D well 💪💪🫡
Would the Thar Roxx come with a Ax7 L manual transmission? Not every one wants an automatic
very nice review. I am happy that you covered how it will be for tall people and also ride quality.

Great Review 💥
I think they are going to offer convertible top later if there is a demand, the design makes me think that.
Does it have electric retractable orvm?
Bumper fender jiggling along with suspension. Is this normal?
Yes. For body on frame SUV's. Otherwise on bad roads the bumper would keep hitting the body panels.
Let me ask important question what is the mileage
I am sure this a sarcastic comment just to offend Maruti Fanboys! 😂
Excellent presentation... keep it up

Thar Roxx Ground clearance: 226mm 🤔 it's correct.
