    I just joked on a different channel that I would need a 75 soft challenge, because 2 45 minute daily workouts with no rest days on my current work schedule would run me into the ground in a couple of days. I didn't think 75 soft existed 😂 Modifying that one workout rule and adding a rest day while maintaining the rest of the original challenge makes it much more doable. It can easily be adopted as a permanent lifestyle.

    My only critique about alcohol in the soft is that sociable means different things to people where binging at bars, drinks with friends, dinner with hubby all are sociable. All can be daily, frequently, or on occassion.
    With no alcohol, there is no room for interpretation to fit in a possible addiction or alter your state of mind for relief.

    • @july3817
      @july3817 Год назад +7

      Yeah the alcohol one is a bit weird for me as well as I probably drink less than 5 times a year. I'm quite young but I also was never much of a party person so I wouldn't even need a rule like that. Guess it shows how common drinking alcohol is for some people. However, you could say the same thing about the diet one. It isn't specified what the diet should include and so if you really wanted, you could continue to eat like you always do. I guess if there's a will there's a way in both directions. If you really want to build the discipline, you will make better choices and if you want to find an easy out you will find one.

      Agree, but thats part of why I like the 75 soft one. It's involves a bit more personal goals and isn't so rigid, which makes it an easier way to start for many people who need a gentle nudge into healthier habits.
      With new routines, most people can sustain it longer when they aren't drastically changing a bunch of things all at once. So even if someone struggles with alcoholism, 75 soft would work better for them than 75 hard precisely for the alcohol rule. If they are cut off cold turkey, with true alcoholism - it could cause severe withdrawal sickness or worse. Even with people who only drink on a semi-regular basis, addiction is sneaky and you could be more addicted than you think. Telling those types of people to only drink socially gets them to be a bit more mindful and begin limiting themselves. Coming out of Covid times, I think the more subtle alcoholism became a big part of many peoples lives (we've all heard of wine moms!), so i think it could be good for some people to START saying no and, hopefully, challenge themselves to fully say no in the future.

I really appreciate the rest days and even get more than 45 minutes in some days when I feel like I have more to give! I like that it gives me a routine and goals to follow 😊 if you’re on the fence with trying it I would say definitely give it a go!

    I’m going to do a 75 Hard/but also Soft challenge.
    I’ll do all the things prescribed by 75 Hard, EXCEPT the second workout. I just don’t have time for that. No way.
    However, the one workout I will do will be outside, and instead of a second workout I’ll substitute 15-20 minutes of recovery work (yoga, stretching, theragun, foam roller etc).
    I think I could do 75 Hard, but that second workout… after about two weeks I’d really piss off my wife and alienate my kids. A 45 minute workout is really more than an hour, if you factor in prep and then shower. I just don’t have that time in the day between working full time, parenting young children, and night school. Take out the night school and I could maybe make it work, but I’m doing class 2-4 hours a night M-F.

    Who has time for 2x45min workouts, one of them outside while having kids?! 😮 45min, yes, probably, in the evenings. But not twice.
    Basically, the 75 soft is my daily routine, as I drink a lot of water anyways. Reading sometimes just isn't in the books (pun intended) every day. Sometimes it's 0, sometimes it's 100. At least books for me. Reading to my little one adda up quickly.
    I actually need to adjust my diet and then everything would work out. Maybe I will challenge myself with that.

    75 Soft? Are you serious? That’s completely the opposite of what 75 Hard is supposed to be…teaches you discipline, mental toughness and grit. It’s NOT a fitness program or challenge…but you will get in shape. Any modifications of 75 Hard is for the weak looking for any excuse to do sh*t their way! Grow a pair and challenge yourself. Do something hard.

      I worked out for 45 minutes every single day along with doing my highly physical job as a waitress, (along with doing a yoga session for another 45 minutes/ running a mile) and I ended up giving myself injures, where I couldn't even sit down or walk without feel immense pain. Sometimes you need rest days so you dont give yourself injures. Following a diet is very great I encourage that along with drinking a gallon of water, and reading 10 pages of a non fiction book (lots of people find those parts the hardest especially the diet aspect, as most people struggle with food addiction). Discipline can be taught through simple things like getting up making your bed, doing your chores at a specific time everyday, working out for 5 or 6 days a week, reading a book for a set amount of time rather than read a specific amount of pages, telling yourself not to eat pizza even when everyone around is enjoying a slice. It's not mental weakness to take a rest a day if you truly feel yourself not being able to perform basic tasks like sitting down or walking.

      @queenmoreau2098 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@ggracias It's a challenge, but the challenge is only with yourself. It's not a competition with anyone else. The 75 Soft Challenge can very well be a hard challenge for someone, especially someone who is going from doing none of these things to doing them every day for the next 75 days. And as the other person mentioned, you can learn discipline and build strength in so many different ways. Just getting up and showing up and staying consistent to meet your goals is showing discipline- doing the 75 Soft, Hard, or neither at all.
