Carl Miez why worry about resale value when you drive them for 21+ years? Hyundai is far from disposable. Used to be 15-20 years ago, but they have become just as reliable as Toyota AND Honda. It’s just a matter of your personal taste at this point.

Beautiful car. Just only one thing missing. The last Sorento had one thing that neither the new Sorento nor any Santa Fe has.... Second row 40/20/40 split seats... All of the German SUVs have as well as the Mazda CX-5 and a few more SUVs in the market. It was a missed opportunity for them to do it here. Other than that, I am greatly impressed with this car. At last, an interior which matches the exterior. Nowadays, the more futuristic cars get on the outside the more plain, basic and blunt their dashboards get. Gone are also those ugly rotary controls on the infotainment screen which reminded a radio from the 40's. A very refreshing interior step-up.

*Why they put the turn signal on bumper strip. I have a 2019 santa Fe some drivers don't notice it when you're making a turn because turn signal should be on the tail light! I usually get honk because of these design.*

Griff To your point...I’m confused about what the difference between a “redesign” and “refresh” when the car 1) sits on a new platform 2) sheet metal has is drastically changed 3) the engine is different 4) the interior is completely different. This used to be considered a total redesign.

Big improvement in looks vs the previous generation. I'm not a fan of the headlight placement, though. Putting them low on the front fascia makes them more vulnerable to rocks and gravel thrown by vehicles ahead. Where I live in the US Pacific Northwest that's more than a minor consideration when the spring thaw brings tons of rocks and pebbles down from the mountains to our highways. It's interesting that the Santa Fe comes in a 3 row version, a feature that was dropped in the last generation in the US. That was a major difference between the Santa Fe and the three row Sorento. Will be interesting to see if the Santa Fe returns to offering a 7 seat version in the US. Haven't yet seen much detail about the new Sorento and nothing about the US version but from what I've seen it appears Hyundai and KIA have followed the same distinctive design approaches found in the Telluride and the Palisade with each having an upscale vibe but the Telluride designed to appeal to North American consumers' preference for a somewhat more "rugged" look and feel and the Palisade with a more traditional luxury vibe. Seems a similar distinction between the new Sorento and Santa Fe. P.S. Shout out to John Holst. Was fast asleep for the live version of this stream.

Well, i think they are still keeping the Cascading grille, but i think they just have altered the shape to fit the new headlamp design. I could be wrong.
Only flaw is the rear turn signals should have been higher. In bumper to bumper traffic, drivers behind may not notice that you are indicating with it being that low

I saw some comments that they don’t like the rear turn signal a little bit lower….but if you only following the rule it regards to the spacing or distance at least 1 car in between their is no problem in it anyway….international driving rule as long as you see the tires in front of you that’s the right distancing….

i love this face lift! the whole car looks much more premium inside and out. i love that central tunnel, and i think it looks even better than inside the palisade. buttons over touchscreen everytime! the only downsides i can see are no RHD v6 petrol, no full size spare wheel and those rear turn signals seems to be too low, i take that as a safety issue, i would love to see them integrated into the tail lights.

Griff To your point...I’m confused about what the difference between a “redesign” and “refresh” when the car 1) sits on a new platform 2) sheet metal has is drastically changed 3) the engine is different 4) the interior is completely different. This used to be considered a total redesign.

Big improvement in looks vs the previous generation. I'm not a fan of the headlight placement, though. Putting them low on the front fascia makes them more vulnerable to rocks and gravel thrown by vehicles ahead. Where I live in the US Pacific Northwest that's more than a minor consideration when the spring thaw brings tons of rocks and pebbles down from the mountains to our highways.
It's interesting that the Santa Fe comes in a 3 row version, a feature that was dropped in the last generation in the US. That was a major difference between the Santa Fe and the three row Sorento. Will be interesting to see if the Santa Fe returns to offering a 7 seat version in the US.
Haven't yet seen much detail about the new Sorento and nothing about the US version but from what I've seen it appears Hyundai and KIA have followed the same distinctive design approaches found in the Telluride and the Palisade with each having an upscale vibe but the Telluride designed to appeal to North American consumers' preference for a somewhat more "rugged" look and feel and the Palisade with a more traditional luxury vibe. Seems a similar distinction between the new Sorento and Santa Fe.

Well, i think they are still keeping the Cascading grille, but i think they just have altered the shape to fit the new headlamp design. I could be wrong.
Only flaw is the rear turn signals should have been higher. In bumper to bumper traffic, drivers behind may not notice that you are indicating with it being that low

I saw some comments that they don’t like the rear turn signal a little bit lower….but if you only following the rule it regards to the spacing or distance at least 1 car in between their is no problem in it anyway….international driving rule as long as you see the tires in front of you that’s the right distancing….

i love this face lift! the whole car looks much more premium inside and out. i love that central tunnel, and i think it looks even better than inside the palisade. buttons over touchscreen everytime!
the only downsides i can see are no RHD v6 petrol, no full size spare wheel and those rear turn signals seems to be too low, i take that as a safety issue, i would love to see them integrated into the tail lights.

This is a fantastic vehicle. Looking forward to seeing a detailed comparison with the new Sorento. Korean car makers are killing it and a Kia, Genesis or Hyundai will probably be my next car. They all look as premium as my RX350 at am much lower price point. Hope they have a hybrid version for the USA.

Love the new interior dash but I prefer the exterior of the out going Santa Fe. Not bad looking just my preference. I'm surprised they did a refresh so soon🤔
